  • 3959 - Biden Administration Moves To Ease Federal Weed Restrictions

Revisiting a campaign promise this week, President Biden announced that he would have his administration review federal marijuana restrictions, potentially reclassifying it as a Schedule III substance. Currently listed as a Schedule I substance by the Drug Enforcement Agency, marijuana possession can lead to serious jail time at the federal level. 31 states have already decriminalized marijuana, with supporters touting medical benefits as well as tax incentives for states. Former Governor of Arkansas and former Administrator of the DEA, Asa Hutchinson, joins the Rundown to discuss what reclassification could mean for the legality of the drug, how it could lead to more comprehensive studies of cannabis, and the impact it would have for those charged with possession. China remains the United States' fiercest competitor. Last month, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen and Secretary of State Antony Blinken visited Bejing to try and mend strained economic and diplomatic relations. Lawmakers have been increasingly concerned about American dependence on China for their everyday good, with senators working on a plan to bolster trade partnerships with Latin America and the Caribbean. Democratic Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO) co-sponsored the bill and joined the podcast to discuss why the U.S. fears a growing conflict with China and why trade relationships outside China will benefit the nation. • 3958 - Evening Edition: Watchdog Group Not Surprised By Wave Of Antisemitism

Violence and chaos on college campuses increasing from New York to Texas to California with protesters shouting antisemitic slogans, occupying campus halls and clashing with police. Protestors are demanding their schools divest from any companies based in Israel and condemn the war against the terror group Hamas. The protestors have also been seen on video calling for the 'death of Zionists' and saying things like, 'we are Hamas.' Where did this wave of anti-Israel sentiment rally come from? One watchdog group says that antisemitism never really goes away, it just 'festers.' FOX’s Eben Brown speaks with Liora Rez, Founder and Executive Director of 'StopAntisemitism', who says historically there is always an element of antisemitism but her group says it has gotten worse in the western world. • 3957 - "Acts Like This Have Consequences": Campus Agitators Test Universities' Limits

After weeks of anti-Israel protests, many are still ongoing across college campuses, despite universities warning of consequences for the illicit acts of disorder. Protesters at Columbia University in New York City were threatened with suspension if they did not clear out their encampments by a given deadline. The demonstrating students responded by violating the deadline and barricading themselves inside a campus building. Former Republican Governor of Indiana and former President of Purdue University Mitch Daniels joins the Rundown to discuss universities' responses to the demonstrations, what consequences the students should face, and how they are disrupting other students' college experiences. The Biden administration postponed its proposed menthol cigarette ban until after the 2024 election. The Food and Drug Administration has attempted to ban the product several times before; however, increased pressure from Big Tobacco and certain members of Congress has delayed the move in the past. Research shows that Black Americans prefer menthol cigarettes to regular ones, and many feel that a ban will have a negative effect on the community. Former Surgeon General Dr. Jerome Adams joins us to discuss why menthol cigarettes are much harder to quit than regular ones, why minority groups prefer them, and why young Americans gravitate toward e-cigarettes. • 3956 - Evening Edition: Republicans Begin Investigation Into Federal Funding For Universities

House Republicans announced they will be launching an investigation into federal funding for colleges and universities that seem to be doing nothing about anti-Semitic protests. The investigation could lead to schools being denied funding while they allow pro-Palestinian encampments that are getting more violent. FOX's John Saucier speaks with Rep. Kevin Hern, Chairman of the Republican Study Committee, who says the protests have been crossing the line of American decency and more can be done about them. • 3955 - How President Trump's Legal Troubles May Help Him In The Election

Election Day is now just 27 weeks away, and many polls are giving former President Donald Trump the advantage. This is despite his multiple legal troubles. President Biden, on the other hand, is losing ground with key Democratic voting blocks, like African Americans, who are unhappy with his handling of the economy, the border and multiple foreign conflicts. Arnon Mishkin, the Director Of The News Decision Desk, joins the Rundown to explain what’s behind President Trump’s polling lead and why an acquittal in his criminal hush money trial could be a huge boost for his re-election hopes. New numbers released by the Federal Reserve are causing alarm as core inflation rose over the last month, leading to fears of "stagflation". Hopes for rate cuts have been stifled as fed chair Jerome Powell warned earlier this month that without a drop in inflation, the fed will not make such a move. While spending remains strong, homebuyers face skyrocketing interest rates and low housing stock. Co-Host of the Big Money Show on FOX Business Brian Brenberg joins to discuss the impact that inflation is having on the economy, why the housing market has cooled off, and what needs to be done to slow inflation and boost investments. Plus, commentary from former Congressman, FOX News Contributor and host of the Jason In The House Podcast, Jason Chaffetz. (Image Via AP) Learn more about your ad choices.
