Mon, 11 Apr 2022 - 26min - 36 - If You’re Feeling Unhappy..
if you’re finding yourself in an unhappy place you’re either giving way to much power into the future or giving your past way too much energy. And that’s mental. It’s not real. The only thing real is the present moment that we’re in right now. So When we become anxious we start saying things lk “I don’t have enough time OR this is taking too much time” & when we think of time from a psychological standpoint - it can be very convincing. & this is where things become depressing bc we start to think of time as linear. I was born, I’m at this middle point and I’ll end up here. Making us leave our present state and manifesting happiness at a later time. Once I obtain this degree I’ll be happy, once I get that job I’ll be happy, when I lose more weight I’ll be happy. So we think we’re in the middle point insisting on conditions that need to be met for us to be happy and it’s such a mental manipulation that’s stealing our happiness . If you’re seeing time as your enemy and not as your ally you’re no longer in the present. And if you’re not in the present, how can you be happy? So moral of the story is. Be clear on your intentions and what you’re passionate about and be accepting of that timeline and be aware of the plan may not always go according to plan. When I look back on my life not a single thing I accomplished has gone according to MY PLAN it’s all on HIS TIMING. And I can’t stress this enough but be open to the path taking a turn. Bc if you don’t dabble in new things along the way, if you don’t let go of this mold of who you told everyone you were going to be- you’ll never let new opportunities land in front of you. Failure is the gateway to success& I know that sounds very Tedtalk but it’s true. if you’re not failing at something are you even trying? If you’re not practicing detachment from who you thought you were to who you can potentially be are you even giving yourself a real shot?
Thu, 13 Jan 2022 - 11min - 35 - Let women walk home safe
today, post 8am play date in my neighborhood that I feel relatively safe in a man walking on the opposite side of the park started gawking at me. I could feel his eyes and so I naturally kept looking straight, hand gripped on what I felt I would need to use to protect myself, and prayed to god that he didn’t speak to me. He did. He tried from yards away. “Hello. Good morning. Mmm excuse me,good morning.” Why? Why when I’m walking with my child. Not looking at you at 8 in the morning do men still feel invited and entitled into my space? Why demand I say something back? But I knew what to do. Even though people in uncomfortable situations say to do opposite I went with my gut and forced my quivering body to quietly acknowledge him. Because if I didn’t it’s a tale tell story. He’d become more aggressive. More assertive. Force himself more onto me because god forbid in 2021 a women bruise your ego by ignoring you, men can still not let that slide. I felt disgusting as he tried to continue to
Thu, 29 Jul 2021 - 12min - 34 - I Quit.
Friendly reminder that quitting just prolongs the process. You’re quitting because the process is slow. You’re not getting the results you want. You’re starting from the bottom. You have nothing. No big money, no large following,no traction, growth is difficult and you often feel the emotions of loneliness and just plain lost. You start asking yourself “What the hell am I doing?” “Why am I doing this? I’m not even good at it?” “Why isn’t this working out for me.” When you reflect back to where you started whether it was last week or last year, you realize just how much you’ve not only grown. But how much you’ve learned on your own. How much discipline you’ve had. The courage it took to branch out on your own.
Tue, 29 Jun 2021 - 14min - 33 - Body Issues& Social Media
Body Dysmorphic Disorder: A mental illness involving obsessive focus on a perceived flaw in appearance. A relatively common issue, especially today. Something I’ve personally struggled with since high school, but took years to seek help for. Social media hasn’t always been a positive place for me mentally. Seeing bodies, that aren’t even genetically possible on an endless feed can at times revert me back to my restrictive dieting way. If you grasp anything from this episode I hope it’s that EVERYONE even someone who looks relatively confident struggles with their body image. Be kind to yourself. Work on you;for YOU. And keep in mind that what you see online isn’t always real.

Thu, 06 May 2021 - 27min - 31 - Seasonal Self Doubt
It happens to all of us. “Is this what I should be doing with my life?”. Are these hurdles I have to overcome or is god saying “this ain’t it?”. It’s difficult to distinguish whether you’re being negative or intuitive. Regardless of the career path you take, that new venture you embark on, or if this is the year you’re making your own Hot Girl Summer. It is ALL HARD. It will all take work. It takes an enormous amount of discipline and boldness to do great things. So what do we do? Well my friends, we have a choice. You can sit back, never apply yourself and be okay with where you are in life and insist this is it. Or you can suck it up and keep working towards that goal list. It is all attainable. We just have to be okay with the seasonal self doubt that toys with our mental well-being. LollolololoSENDHELPlololol. I believe in you. WE WILL DO THIS!
Mon, 26 Apr 2021 - 19min - 30 - Hate Your Job?

Full of passion and creativity and pure excitement. You can have it all the second you stop doubting and start doing.
Wed, 31 Mar 2021 - 28min - 29 - For all the “I don’t have a big following” doubters. - Joy
“I don’t have a big following, what’s the point?”. As someone who was once in those shoes it’s been a true pleasure to watch Joy, or as most know her @mycurrentfaves, grow from one follower to a few thousand. In the whirl of beauty bloggers, influencers, and content creators, it can be difficult to remain authentic and find yourself feeling insecure. Between the “likes” and “followers” it’s easy to feel like there’s no point. Rooting for the 30+ club this mom, micro-influencer, wife, professional, and product shot extraordinaire sits down with us and shares a bit of her journey. Working with big brands, being brave enough to start in such a Facetuned/ Airbrush world; she bares it all on and off social media and it’s what we LOVE so much about her. “You have such limited time on this earth. DO IT! Try it!” has to be my favorite line from her. So sit back, but not too far, because this episode will make you want to stop doubting and start doing! Thank you, Joy for taking the time to share your journey with us. *DISCLAIMER* the company mentioned in podcast of nonpayment: is NOT IPSY or of any Personalized Beauty Discovery,Inc. Sun, 28 Feb 2021 - 06min - 26 - Dear Mama
If someone in your life is struggling with addiction or mental health or everything in between. This is for you. I spent years so angry at my mother. Often times the questions we ask is “Why?” Why couldn’t they stop? why couldn’t they quit? Why can’t they just get it together? The more educated you become on mental health and addiction, the more you realize it’s not a conscious choice despite popular belief or old school mentality’s of “just deal with it.” It’s my mission to push the envelope forward. Especially in the minority space. Thank you momma, for letting me share a small part of your story. I love you. I will never give up on you. Your strength is unmatched, your energy is infectious, and God is going to continue to give us years of love and memories ahead.
Mon, 22 Feb 2021 - 15min - 25 - That One Time I Cried In Public on Valentine’s Day
It’s coming. Your girl is going to be scrolling on Instagram seeing girls unbox their Louis Vuitton in a room full of rose petals and candles spelling “I love you” on Valentine’s Day and you know who ain’t shit? YOU. The guy who believed your girl truly meant it when she said “Valentine’s day is stupid” 😂I got a 14 item list to save the day. I also, embarrassingly share my own Valentine’s Day misses. If you’re with someone you love, you have to learn how to love them properly on the days THEY GENUINELY AND WHOLEHEARTEDLY VALUE. Tbh I’ll be eating crawfish this year and the years to come bc this day doesn’t mean much but to ALOT OF MY GIRLS IT DOES. Do the right thing yall. Have those uncomfortable conversations so you’re not in my position 7 years ago..crying in public because my man couldn’t read my mind 😂
Mon, 08 Feb 2021 - 18min - 24 - “Fake Famous”
HBO did a unveiling of the fake influencers buying bots, auto like systems, and fronting a fancy lifestyle and I’m spilling MAJOR TEA
Thu, 04 Feb 2021 - 12min - 23 - Power Circle
For many years I didn’t realize the importance of having a supportive group. A group who believed in me as much as I believed in them and myself. There’s a German saying of “I don’t have to wish you luck, but I wish you well.” And we HAVE TO NORMALIZE. Wishing others well because the relationship no longer serves us and our paths are different. You have to evaluate every person in your life and ask yourself “Do they provide value and do they value me?”. For the first time in my life I feel like I can vocalize my wildest dreams to a group of people who don’t hesitate in believing in me and can also bring something to the table to help me along the way. In the game of life, make sure your roster is golden because if we’re trying to get to that next level it doesn’t matter who wins first, it just matters that we get there! Shoutout to my whole squad, man! I’m so damn proud of us for going after our passions and supporting each other on the journey to an epic destination.

Sat, 16 Jan 2021 - 07min - 20 - Chron’s Awareness
Rather than suffer in silence and portray the perfect life. Today’s guest, Reghan, shares her story of how a 20- something went from living her best life to being trapped in the hospital for more days than she had lived. As someone who is slowly becoming comfortable with being transparent I would like to think that her bravery, bluntness, and strength has inspired me and many others to share our own struggles. While Chron’s can be known to shake and shatter your world forever, Reghan has chosen to pick up the pieces and continue to try to be a healthier version of herself both inside and out. This is one of my favorite podcast. Real. Raw. And for once, offers some helpful support you can give to someone suffering from Chrons.

- 18 - I could have killed myself.
I could have killed myself. I could have killed someone else. I’ve done a lot of inner work the past 2 years. I’ve dealt with my demons and told them to fuck off. Our mind is a beautiful thing that surpresses our trauma so we can function but eventually- we unravel. And for me, that meant wreckless behavior. I could have lost it all before I had it. I would drink myself into oblivion and drive. I would fucking DRIVE! I was depressed. I had an eating disorder and list of other things that happened in a short span of 1year. I was drowning, but of course my Instagram feed looked great. I realize in publicizing my trauma I’m putting my business out there. In a time where people do it for clout, attention, or as an act of desperation I’m doing this shit because I’m fucking strong now. There’s hope. If you find yourself in a dark hole and feel like this is it, ITS NOT! Life is beautiful! YOU are worthy and deserving of everything good in this life and it WILL get better. I’m a product of it. #tellYourDemonsToGoFUCKTHEMSELVES

Defeat, self doubt, and guilt have been an emotional blunder for me. You’re not alone. I feel it too! We’re all in this together, they said! A few months of this they said? Well March has quickly turned to Thanksgiving with no guest list but guess what-we will keep surviving!
Sun, 22 Nov 2020 - 21min - 16 - “It was all good about a week ago”

On a lighter note, we talk about social pressures , adjusting to parenthood, and a different perspective on finances and buying a home.
