- 463 - Why an Ayurvedic Seasonal Reset Is More Than a Cleanse - 462
What if you didn't wait until your body was struggling before you gave it a reset?
In our modern world, we often think of a cleanse or reset as something we need to do after we've overindulged, eaten too much sugar, gained weight, or simply "fallen off the wagon." But Ayurveda takes a different, more preventative approach.
Because we are part of nature, the changing seasons affect us too, influencing our digestion, energy, routines, appetite, sleep and overall balance. In this episode, Colette explores why the transition between seasons is such an important time to pause, listen to the body, simplify and support ourselves through change.
An Ayurvedic seasonal reset is about much more than a cleanse or detox. Through the Ayurvedic principle of ritucharya, adapting our lifestyle according to the seasons, we can become more aware of how our bodies respond to environmental changes and make adjustments before imbalance becomes more established.
Colette explores the relationship between the seasons and the doshas, why supporting agni (digestive fire) is central to an Ayurvedic reset, and why cleansing should include preparation, simplicity, digestion, elimination and, importantly, rejuvenation. You'll also discover how a seasonal reset can become a powerful practice of preventative health rather than something we only turn to when something goes wrong.
In this episode, you'll discover:
Why Ayurveda takes a preventative approach to health and wellbeing How seasonal changes can influence our bodies, digestion, energy and daily routines The Ayurvedic concept of ritucharya and adapting our lifestyle with the seasons How the doshas can accumulate and become aggravated during seasonal transitions Why subtle changes in digestion can be signals that your body is adapting to a new season Why simplifying food, routines and stimulation can support the body during seasonal change What an Ayurvedic digestive reset involves beyond simply "detoxing" Why supporting digestion and elimination is an important part of a seasonal reset Why the process doesn't end when the cleanse ends The importance of rejuvenation and rebuilding after cleansing Why you don't need to wait until something is wrong before supporting your health How to make a seasonal reset personal to your constitution, lifestyle and individual needsJoin the Autumn Digestive Reset Cleanse

Thu, 17 Sep 2026 - 21min - 462 - Why Less Can Sometimes Heal More: The Wisdom of Ayurvedic Simplicity - 461
Have you ever noticed that when you're not feeling your best, your instinct is to do more?
Another supplement, another diet, another wellness routine or maybe another expert to follow. But what if your body doesn't need more from you right now? What if it needs less?
In this episode, Colette explores the Ayurvedic wisdom of simplicity and why creating space can sometimes be more supportive than continually adding more. Ayurveda reminds us that the body is constantly processing; not only food, but also information, experiences, emotions, stimulation and the demands of everyday life.
When there is too much coming in and not enough capacity to process it, we can begin to feel overwhelmed, disconnected and depleted. Creating space can give the body an opportunity to digest, process and eliminate what it no longer needs, while also creating room for intuition, clarity and creativity to emerge.
In this episode, you'll discover:
Why our instinct to add more isn't always the answer when something isn't working The Ayurvedic understanding of Agni and why digestive capacity matters How we can become overwhelmed by the constant input of modern life Why simplicity can reduce the energy required to navigate our daily lives The difference between restriction and simplification How Ayurveda understands Ama as residue or accumulation from what has not been properly digested or processed Why creating space can support digestion, processing and elimination How mental and emotional "clutter" can make it harder to hear our intuition Why creativity often needs space rather than more stimulation How a seasonal reset can help us step back from unnecessary demands Why your body doesn't always need another protocol, supplement, diet or wellness routine Three simple questions to ask before adding something new to your health routineJoin the Autumn Digestive Reset Cleanse

Thu, 10 Sep 2026 - 22min - 461 - When Healthy Habits Stop Working: An Ayurvedic Perspective - 460
You eat well, exercise regularly, meditate, manage your stress and genuinely try to take care of yourself, so why don't you feel better?
Sometimes, the answer isn't that you need to try harder or add another healthy habit. Through the Ayurvedic lens, there may be another question worth asking: Does your body currently have the capacity to digest, process and assimilate everything you're giving it?
In this episode, Colette explores why healthy habits can sometimes stop feeling helpful and how factors such as stress, sensory input, lifestyle, seasonal changes, accumulation and digestive capacity can influence how we experience our health and wellbeing. You'll learn more about the Ayurvedic concepts of Agni and Ama, why digestion involves more than just the food we eat, and why sometimes creating space, simplifying our routines and reducing unnecessary inputs can be more supportive than continually adding more.
In this episode, we explore:
Why doing "all the right things" doesn't always mean you'll feel your best The Ayurvedic concept of Agni and our capacity to digest, metabolise and process What Ama means within the Ayurvedic understanding of incomplete digestion and metabolism How accumulation can occur when we're continually taking in more than we have the capacity to process Why stress and nervous system load can change the way we experience digestion Why how you eat can be just as important as what you eat How your digestive capacity can change with your stress, sleep, activity, age, lifestyle and the seasons Why sometimes the body needs less stimulation, less input and more space How simplifying your routine can support digestion, elimination and restorationJoin the Autumn Digestive Reset Cleanse

Thu, 03 Sep 2026 - 18min - 460 - Why We Keep Ignoring Our Body's Signals: Ayurveda and Self-Awareness - 459
Have you ever found yourself saying, "I'm fine," even though you know you're exhausted?
Maybe you've been living with bloating, poor sleep, low energy, headaches or digestive discomfort for so long that it has simply become your normal. You know something feels different, but life is busy, there are people depending on you, and there's always something else that seems more important.
In Episode 458, we explored how Ayurveda views symptoms as messages from the body rather than problems to simply suppress. In this episode, we take the conversation a step further and explore why we so often ignore those messages in the first place.
We've become fluent in the language of productivity, achievement and pushing through, but many of us have lost our fluency in the language of the body. We learn to override tiredness, rush through meals, ignore digestive discomfort and tell ourselves that poor sleep is "just stress" or that feeling exhausted is simply part of getting older.
Colette shares some of the patterns she has observed through her work with clients, including how easily we can adapt to feeling less well and gradually lower our expectations of what it means to feel healthy and balanced.
In this episode, we'll explore:
Why we become accustomed to ignoring the body's early signals The psychology behind saying "I'm fine" when we're actually exhausted How modern life encourages us to push through and prioritise productivity Why symptoms can gradually become so normal that we stop questioning them The connection between youthful vitality and our ability to compensate for imbalance Why some of the habits we tolerated when we were younger may affect us differently as we age How Ayurveda encourages curiosity rather than judgement Why awareness is the first step towards meaningful change How to become more fluent in the language of your own body A simple daily question you can use to begin listening more closelyJoin the Autumn Digestive Reset Cleanse

Thu, 27 Aug 2026 - 25min - 459 - What Is Your Body Trying to Tell You? An Ayurvedic Perspective on Symptoms - 458
Have you ever wished a symptom would simply disappear?
Whether it's bloating, fatigue, headaches, restless sleep or digestive discomfort, our first instinct is often to silence the discomfort and get on with our busy lives. But what if those symptoms aren't the problem? What if they're messages?
Colette explores one of Ayurveda's most profound teachings: that symptoms are not random inconveniences to suppress but meaningful signals that the body is communicating an imbalance. Rather than fighting our symptoms, Ayurveda invites us to become curious and ask, "What is my body trying to communicate?"
You'll discover how Ayurveda helps us understand the body's language of imbalance, why we often ignore its early warning signs, and how seasonal changes can influence our health. Colette also explores why fatigue, bloating and even pain may be invitations to slow down, pay attention and make small adjustments before imbalances become more significant.
Whether you're completely new to Ayurveda or have been practicing for years, this episode offers a compassionate reminder that your body isn't working against you, it's working for you. By learning to listen with curiosity rather than fear, you can begin developing a deeper relationship with your body and support your wellbeing from the inside out.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Why Ayurveda views symptoms as communication rather than problems to eliminate. How to recognize the body's early whispers before they become louder signals. Why fatigue, bloating and pain aren't necessarily the problem, they're valuable information. How seasonal changes can influence Pitta, Kapha and Vata, and what that may look like in your own body. Why modern life encourages us to ignore our body's wisdom. The importance of responding with curiosity instead of criticism. The two fundamental questions Ayurveda asks when understanding imbalance. Simple ways to begin listening to your body's innate intelligence.Register for the Autumn Digestive Reset Cleanse

Thu, 13 Aug 2026 - 30min - 457 - Rebuilding Self-Trust Through Ayurveda - 456
Have you ever found yourself ignoring your body's signals, overriding your intuition, or constantly looking outside yourself for the "right" answer?
In our modern world, we're surrounded by advice on what to eat, how to exercise, and the perfect wellness routine to follow. While information can be incredibly valuable, it can also disconnect us from the most important source of wisdom we have, ourselves.
In this episode, Colette explores why self-trust lies at the heart of healing and how Ayurveda gently guides us back to our own inner wisdom. Rather than encouraging dependence on practitioners or protocols, Ayurveda teaches us to become students of ourselves through observation, awareness, and consistent daily practices.
Whether you're new to Ayurveda or have been practicing for years, this episode is a gentle reminder that your inner wisdom hasn't disappeared, it may simply need your attention.
In this episode, you'll discover:
Why self-trust is one of the foundations of healing How modern life encourages us to override our body's natural signals The hidden cost of constantly seeking external answers Why Ayurveda is a personalized system of health rather than a one-size-fits-all approach How observation and self-awareness help strengthen intuition Why symptoms can be viewed as valuable messages from the body The importance of dinacharya (daily routine) in rebuilding trust with yourself Why consistency matters far more than perfection A simple daily practice to help you reconnect with your body's wisdomThe Elements of Ayurveda Podcast Community was created for those who wish to go deeper into Ayurveda, together. Thu, 06 Aug 2026 - 15min - 456 - The Hidden Energy Leaks That Keep You Stuck - 455
Do you ever feel too exhausted, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself to even think about doing the things that you know would support your wellbeing?
In this episode, Colette discusses the hidden energy leaks that quietly drain our vitality every day. These aren't always the obvious things like missing a night's sleep or skipping a meal. They're the subtle habits, thought patterns, and daily demands that slowly drain your vitality without you even noticing. They often go unnoticed because they've become part of our normal way of living.
Through the Ayurvedic lens of Prana, the life force energy that animates the body and mind, Colette explores how these hidden energy leaks can leave us feeling scattered, depleted, and disconnected from our inner wisdom.
In this episode, you'll discover:
What prana is and why protecting it is essential for wellbeing How people pleasing and self-abandonment drain your energy Why doom scrolling and digital overload fragment the mind The energetic impact of physical and mental clutter How decision fatigue contributes to exhaustion Why unresolved emotions consume your energy The importance of routine and rhythm in Ayurveda Why consistency often creates more transformation than perfection A simple question to help identify where your energy may be leakingRather than focusing on what you need to add to your life, this episode invites you to consider what may need to be released. Because sometimes healing doesn't come from doing more. Sometimes it comes from stopping the things that are quietly draining your vitality.

Thu, 30 Jul 2026 - 17min - 455 - When Life Gets Busy: Practicing Ayurveda in the Real World - 454
Do you find it easy to follow your Ayurvedic routines when life is calm, only to watch them disappear when things get busy?
Perhaps you're travelling, caring for family, juggling work responsibilities, navigating a major life transition, or simply trying to keep up with the demands of everyday life. Suddenly, the morning routine feels impossible, meals become irregular, and self-care is pushed to the bottom of the list.
In this episode, Colette explores one of the biggest misconceptions about Ayurveda: the belief that we need to practice it perfectly for it to be effective. She shares why Ayurveda was designed for real life, not ideal circumstances and how small, consistent practices can support balance even during life's busiest seasons.
This episode is a gentle reminder that Ayurveda isn't reserved for calm, quiet days. In fact, it's often the busy, messy, imperfect days when we need its wisdom most.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Why life naturally moves through seasons that require different levels of structure and flexibility The myth of the "perfect" Ayurvedic routine How awareness, not perfection, is the true goal of Ayurvedic living Why small daily practices can have a profound impact on wellbeing How to identify your Ayurvedic non-negotiables during busy periods The power of consistency and the "minimum effective dose" approach to self-care Why we often abandon the very practices that support us most Practical Ayurvedic wisdom for navigating the intensity of summer and excess Pitta energy The importance of returning to your practices rather than starting overThe Elements of Ayurveda Podcast Community was created for those who wish to go deeper into Ayurveda, together. Thu, 23 Jul 2026 - 14min - 454 - The Gap Between Knowing and Living Ayurveda - 453
If you've been studying Ayurveda for a while, chances are you already know a lot. Yet knowing what supports your wellbeing and consistently living it are often two very different things.
In this episode, Colette explores the gap between knowing and living Ayurveda. She discusses why information alone doesn't create transformation, how the nervous system influences our ability to change, why we often resist the very habits that would support us, and how self-compassion and consistency can help us bridge the gap between understanding Ayurveda and truly embodying it in everyday life.
In This Episode, You'll Learn:
Why information alone doesn't create lasting transformation The difference between learning Ayurveda and living Ayurveda Why the nervous system prioritizes familiarity over what's healthiest How seemingly unhelpful habits may actually be meeting deeper emotional needs Why lack of follow-through is often not a willpower problem How learning can sometimes become a form of avoidance The difference between self-discipline and self-compassion How the 80/20 approach can make Ayurveda more realistic and sustainable Why transformation is often the result of consistent, simple choices over timeThe Elements of Ayurveda Podcast Community was created for those who wish to go deeper into Ayurveda, together. Thu, 16 Jul 2026 - 17min - 453 - Living an Authentic Life with Ayurveda - 452
The word authenticity can sometimes feel overused, misunderstood, or even a little cliché. Yet beneath the buzzword lies a profound question: Who are you underneath all the layers of conditioning, expectations, habits, and beliefs you've accumulated throughout your life?
In this episode, Colette explores how Ayurveda offers a unique framework for uncovering your authentic self. Rather than becoming someone new, Ayurveda encourages us to peel back the layers that obscure our true nature and reconnect with who we've always been. She discusses the importance of understanding your unique constitution (Prakriti), restoring balance before seeking clarity, and cultivating awareness through sustainable daily practices that support physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Why the concept of authenticity is often misunderstood How Ayurveda views authenticity as a process of remembering rather than becoming The role of Prakriti (your unique constitution) in living an aligned life Why comparing yourself to others can create unnecessary suffering How societal conditioning can pull you away from your true nature The connection between healing, balance, and self-awareness Why symptoms such as fatigue, anxiety, pain, digestive issues, and brain fog can make self-discovery more difficult How restoring balance creates the foundation for clarity and resilience Why awareness is one of Ayurveda's most powerful tools for transformation The importance of becoming a student of your own experience How simple daily Ayurvedic practices create freedom rather than restriction Why Ayurveda is a lifestyle rather than another item on your to-do listThe Elements of Ayurveda Podcast Community was created for those who wish to go deeper into Ayurveda, together. Thu, 09 Jul 2026 - 15min - 452 - An Ayurvedic Guide to Vata, Pitta and Kapha Skin Types - 451
Have you ever wondered if your skin is trying to tell you something?
In this episode, Colette continues the conversation on Ayurvedic skin health following her interview with Vaidya Kamya Pillai on the gut-skin connection in episode 447. While many of us are taught to focus on skincare products to address dryness, breakouts, redness, or sensitivity, Ayurveda encourages us to look beneath the surface and explore what these symptoms may be communicating about our overall health.
Colette explores how imbalances in the doshas of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha can manifest in the skin and how understanding the underlying causes can help us better support our skin and our wellbeing. She discusses the relationship between skin health and digestion, the nervous system, stress, life stages, seasonal influences, and the Ayurvedic principle that symptoms are often messages rather than problems to eliminate.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Why Ayurveda views the skin as a reflection of internal health How Vata imbalance may contribute to dryness, sensitivity, and premature aging How Pitta imbalance can manifest as inflammation, redness, acne, and skin reactivity How Kapha imbalance may lead to congestion, oiliness, puffiness, and sluggish skin How seasonal changes influence the skin Why skin concerns often change throughout different stages of life The Ayurvedic principle of using opposite qualities to restore balance How to begin listening to the messages your skin may be sendingWhether you're experiencing acne, rosacea, dryness, sensitivity, inflammation, congestion, or simply want to better understand your skin through the lens of Ayurveda, this episode offers practical insights and a deeper perspective on cultivating health and radiance from within.

Thu, 02 Jul 2026 - 21min - 451 - The Feminine Fire Within: Ayurveda, Intuition and the Return to Balance - 450
Have you been feeling less drawn to hustle culture, constant productivity and striving, and more drawn to simplicity, connection and a slower rhythm of life?
In this episode, Colette explores the concept of the feminine fire through an Ayurvedic lens. Inspired by reflections on the balance between feminine and masculine energies within us all, she examines how modern life, excess rajas and nervous system overstimulation can disconnect us from our intuition, creativity and natural rhythms.
Drawing on personal experiences and Ayurvedic wisdom, Colette discusses the qualities of a rajasic mind, the importance of cultivating sattva, and why so many people are yearning for deeper connection, community and a more intentional way of living.
You'll also learn simple ways to rekindle the feminine fire within by reconnecting with nature, honouring your body's wisdom, creating moments of quiet, nurturing meaningful relationships and finding balance between doing and being.
In this episode, Colette discusses:
The concept of feminine and masculine energies from an Ayurvedic perspective Why many people are feeling called toward a simpler, more intentional life The role of rajas and how excess activity affects the mind Signs of nervous system depletion and vata aggravation The relationship between intuition, creativity and sattva Why modern wellness culture can sometimes become another form of striving The importance of community, connection and shared wisdom Practical ways to reduce overstimulation and cultivate inner balance Reconnecting with nature and natural rhythms How to rekindle the feminine fire withinThe Elements of Ayurveda Podcast Community was created for those who wish to go deeper into Ayurveda, together. Thu, 25 Jun 2026 - 15min - 450 - Letting Go of Optimization: Returning to Body Wisdom - 449
Are you living by your body's wisdom or by your data?
In today's wellness culture, we're encouraged to track, measure, monitor, and optimize almost every aspect of our lives. Sleep scores, step counts, fasting windows, heart rate variability, recovery metrics, calorie burn, protein intake, the list seems endless.
While technology can offer valuable insights, many people are finding themselves increasingly disconnected from the very thing that matters most, their relationship with their own body.
In this episode, Colette explores the growing culture of self-optimization through the lens of Ayurveda and nervous system health. Drawing on her own experience as a former triathlete whose pursuit of performance ultimately led to burnout, she shares how Ayurveda helped her move from rigid self-monitoring to embodied self-awareness.
This conversation is not about rejecting technology. It's about remembering that health is not a collection of numbers. Ayurveda teaches us that true wellbeing is dynamic, individual, seasonal, and deeply connected to our ability to listen to our body's changing needs.
Colette explores how constant tracking can sometimes shift from awareness into hypervigilance, why optimization culture particularly impacts Vata and Pitta types, and how external metrics can unintentionally override intuition, self-trust, and nervous system regulation.
In this episode, you'll learn:
How optimization culture can disconnect us from our body's innate wisdom The difference between self-awareness and self-surveillance Why wearables and health metrics don't tell the full story How Vata and Pitta tendencies can become amplified through chronic self-monitoring Why Ayurveda views health as contextual, seasonal, and individualized The connection between nervous system safety and healing How to rebuild trust in your body's internal feedback systems Why balance is responsive rather than rigid The importance of pleasure, flexibility, and humanity in long-term wellbeing Gentle ways to reconnect with your intuition and embodied awarenessThis episode is an invitation to step away from the pressure to constantly improve yourself and instead cultivate a deeper relationship with your body. Because some of the most important aspects of health, joy, connection, peace, ease, and presence, can never be fully measured, but they can be deeply felt.

Thu, 11 Jun 2026 - 42min - 448 - Beyond Skin Care: Ayurveda and the Gut-Skin Connection with Vaidya Kamya - 447
Could your skin be reflecting what's happening in your digestive system?
Colette explores the Ayurvedic understanding of the gut-skin connection and why true radiance begins from within with Vaidya Kamya Pillai. While modern research continues to uncover the relationship between the microbiome, inflammation, and skin health, Ayurveda has long taught that healthy digestion, balanced doshas, and proper nourishment are essential for clear, vibrant skin.
You'll learn how Agni (digestive fire), Ama (toxic accumulation), Rasa Dhatu (the body's primary nourishing tissue) and Ojas (our vital essence), influence skin health and overall vitality. They also discuss how stress, emotions, and nervous system dysregulation can impact both digestion and complexion, and why Ayurveda views beauty as a reflection of internal balance rather than external appearance alone.
In this episode you'll discover:
The Ayurvedic gut-skin connection The role of Rasa Dhatu in hydration, nourishment, and radiance How Agni and Ama affect skin health The connection between the doshas, stress, and the nervous system in skin health How Vata, Pitta, and Kapha imbalances manifest in the skin Ojas and it's connection to radiant skin Ayurvedic practices to support healthy digestion and glowing skin Why true beauty begins with inner balanceWhether you're dealing with acne, sensitivity, inflammation, dryness, premature aging, or simply want to cultivate a healthy natural glow, this episode offers practical Ayurvedic wisdom to support skin health from the inside out.

Thu, 04 Jun 2026 - 45min - 447 - People Pleasing and the Nervous System: An Ayurvedic Path Back to Yourself - 446
People pleasing is often misunderstood as simply being "too nice," but for many people it's much deeper than that. It can become a nervous system survival strategy shaped by childhood conditioning, fear of rejection, emotional hypervigilance, and the longing to feel safe, accepted, loved, and connected.
In this episode, Colette explores people pleasing through the lens of Ayurveda, nervous system healing, and emotional awareness. She shares how these patterns can disconnect us from our true nature and why healing involves much more than simply "setting boundaries" or "learning to say no."
Drawing from both Ayurvedic wisdom and her own personal journey, Colette discusses how chronic people pleasing can manifest as anxiety, burnout, perfectionism, exhaustion, over-responsibility, insomnia, digestive imbalance, nervous system depletion, and emotional disconnection. She also explores the connection between people pleasing and the nervous system's fawn and freeze responses, and why the body may still perceive boundaries as unsafe even when the rational mind knows they are necessary.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Why people pleasing is often a nervous system adaptation rather than a behaviour The connection between people pleasing, the fawn response, and freeze response How childhood experiences can shape patterns of self-abandonment The Ayurvedic understanding of people pleasing through Vata and Pitta imbalances Why boundaries alone are often not enough for healing How chronic hypervigilance impacts the body, mind, digestion, hormones, and nervous system How Ayurveda supports nervous system repair, emotional awareness, embodiment, and self-trust Gentle practices to help reconnect with your voice, truth, and authentic selfCheck out Colette's online services:

Thu, 28 May 2026 - 16min - 446 - Why We Struggle to Rest – Permission to Slow Down - 445
Why is it so difficult to truly rest, even when we're exhausted?
In this episode, Colette explores the deeper Ayurvedic understanding of rest, nervous system regulation, productivity culture, and the relationship between Vata and Pitta imbalance. Many people today are living in a constant state of overstimulation and "doing," leaving the nervous system unable to fully soften and restore.
Colette looks at how modern culture often praises dysregulation when it looks productive, why rest can feel emotionally difficult, and how busyness can become a way of avoiding deeper feelings and disconnection from ourselves.
She covers the following in this episode:
Why many people struggle to truly rest The Ayurvedic understanding of nervous system dysregulation How productivity can become connected to identity and self-worth Why slowing down can sometimes feel unsafe The connection between rhythm, dinacharya and nervous system safety Why summer season can become surprisingly depleting Gentle Ayurvedic practices to calm Vata and soften excess Pitta Reconnecting with enoughness, presence and restorationThis episode is a gentle reminder that rest is not laziness or something we earn only after burnout. From an Ayurvedic perspective, rest is an essential part of healing, restoration and sustainable wellbeing.

Thu, 21 May 2026 - 20min - 445 - Sadvritta: Ayurveda's Guide to a Compassionate and Conscious Life - 444
Colette explores the Ayurvedic concept of Sadvritta, often translated as right living or ethical conduct, and how these timeless teachings can help us navigate modern life with more awareness, compassion, and harmony.
While Ayurveda is often associated with food, herbs, and daily routines, the classical teachings remind us that true health goes far beyond the physical body. Our thoughts, beliefs, speech, and interactions with others all influence our mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
In today's fast-paced and highly stimulated world, where disconnection, reactivity, and social tension are increasingly common, Sadvritta offers a practical and deeply relevant framework for living consciously and cultivating both personal and collective wellbeing.
In this episode, Colette explores:
Why Ayurveda considers ethical living essential for health The connection between the mind, relationships, and physical wellbeing How our beliefs influence the doshas and nervous system Mental ama (toxins) and the impact of overstimulation on the mind The importance of contentment and mental hygiene Social Sadvritta and the role of compassion, truthfulness, and respect in daily interactions How reactivity and disconnection affect collective wellbeing The relationship between Sadvritta and ojas (vital essence) Small daily practices to cultivate a more compassionate and conscious lifeCheck out Colette's online services:

Thu, 14 May 2026 - 14min - 444 - Integrity in Ayurveda with Dr. Jayarajan Kodikannath - 443
What does integrity truly mean in Ayurveda and why does it matter now more than ever?
In today's rapidly expanding global wellness space, conversations around ethics, responsibility, and authenticity are becoming increasingly important. While this episode doesn't focus on specific events, it acknowledges that moments of rupture in any healing tradition can serve as powerful invitations to return to its roots, back to awareness, accountability, and integrity.
In this episode, I'm joined by Vaidya Jayarajan Kodikannath, CEO and Academy Director of Kerala Ayurveda (USA), he brings both traditional wisdom and modern perspective to this essential conversation.
Together, we explore the ethical foundations of Ayurveda, the responsibilities of practitioners and teachers, and how integrity can be embodied in both personal practice and professional life.
In this episode, we discuss:
What integrity means within the context of Ayurveda Why this conversation is especially relevant in today's global wellness landscape The role of dharma in guiding ethical decision-making What is a dharma-based business in Ayurveda Marketing your Ayurveda business with integrity How to cultivate discernment and inner authority when navigating the wellness space Subtle ways integrity can be compromised, even unintentionally The importance of self-awareness and personal practice in maintaining professional integrity Ayurveda as a consciouness-based medicineAyurveda is more than a system of health, it's a path of conscious living rooted in awareness, responsibility, and alignment with natural law. As the tradition continues to evolve and expand globally, maintaining its integrity becomes a shared responsibility.
This conversation offers both practitioners and students an opportunity to reflect, deepen their understanding, and reconnect with the values that uphold Ayurveda at its core.

Thu, 07 May 2026 - 54min - 443 - Not All Stress Is the Same: An Ayurvedic Guide - 442
In modern life, we often talk about stress as if it's one single experience. We say "I'm stressed" and assume the solution is the same for everyone, but Ayurveda offers a much more nuanced understanding.
From an Ayurvedic perspective, stress is not one-size-fits-all. It expresses itself through the lens of the doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) and each one creates a very different experience in the body and mind.
This is why what works for one person may feel ineffective, or even aggravating for another.
In this episode, Colette guides you through the different types of stress according to Ayurveda so you can begin to understand your own patterns and choose support that truly aligns with your needs.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Why stress is not a one-size-fits-all experience in Ayurveda How stress manifests through Vata, Pitta, and Kapha The key signs and symptoms of each stress type Common lifestyle triggers that aggravate each dosha Why generic self-care routines often don't work Simple, aligned ways to support your body and mind based on your current state Why awareness is the first step in healing and regulationExciting News: The New Elements of Ayurveda Podcast Community is Live!

From questions around diet and lifestyle to its relevance in today's scientific landscape, they unpack how Ayurveda is far more adaptable, nuanced, and evidence-aligned than many believe.

Thu, 23 Apr 2026 - 46min - 441 - Mushrooms Through the Lens of Ayurveda with Sharmistha Guha Majumdar - 440
Mushrooms have become increasingly popular in the modern wellness world, particularly for their potential benefits for the nervous system, immunity and resilience. But where do they fit within Ayurveda?
In this episode, I'm joined by Sharmistha Guha Majumdar to explore mushrooms through the lens of Ayurvedic principles. While mushrooms are not extensively described in the classical texts, Ayurveda offers a sophisticated framework for understanding any substance through observation, energetics and ecological context. Sharmistha shares how we can move beyond simply asking whether something is listed in the texts and instead learn how to evaluate it through the Ayurvedic concepts of dravya, guna, karma, and the subtle energies of prana, tejas and ojas.
Together we explore how mushrooms grow, what their ecological patterns reveal about their energetics, and what considerations are important when incorporating them into the diet.
In this episode, we discuss:
How substances like mushrooms can be evaluated through Ayurvedic principles The role of observation and ecological intelligence in understanding the energetics of foods and herbs Mushrooms and their potential influence on the subtle energies of prana, tejas and ojas General qualities and considerations when incorporating mushrooms into the diet Why digestive capacity and agni are important when consuming mushrooms The energetic patterns and potential actions of specific mushrooms including; Lion's Mane, Cordyceps, Reishi and Chaga Why Ayurveda is a living framework that allows us to interpret new substances through timeless principlesThis episode offers a thoughtful exploration of how Ayurvedic wisdom can be applied to modern foods and herbs, helping us deepen our understanding of both mushrooms and Ayurveda itself.

Thu, 16 Apr 2026 - 57min - 440 - 7 Signs Your Body Is Asking for an Ayurvedic Spring Reset - 439
As winter transitions into spring, many people begin to notice subtle shifts in how they feel. You might experience brain fog, sluggish digestion, low motivation, seasonal allergies, or new cravings for sugar and comfort foods. While these symptoms may seem random, Ayurveda recognizes them as common responses to the seasonal shift from winter to spring.
In this episode, Colette shares seven signs that your body may be asking for a seasonal reset and explain how Ayurveda views these signals as early messages from the body. Rather than waiting for deeper imbalance to develop, Ayurveda encourages us to recognize these subtle signs and support the body through seasonal cleansing, lighter foods, and strengthening digestion.
You'll learn how seasonal accumulation develops, why spring often brings feelings of heaviness or congestion, and how small adjustments can help restore clarity, energy, and digestive balance.
In this episode, we explore:
Why kapha accumulates during winter and begins to mobilize in spring How seasonal changes can weaken agni (digestive fire) The Ayurvedic concept of ama (metabolic toxins) and how it forms The 7 signs indicating winter accumulation Why spring is traditionally considered the ideal season for cleansingCheck out Colette's online services:

Thu, 09 Apr 2026 - 18min - 439 - Kapha Imbalance vs Fatigue: Why You Feel Heavy, Foggy + Unmotivated - 438
Have you ever felt tired… but something about it didn't feel like true fatigue? In this episode, Colette explores the subtle but important difference between Kapha accumulation and true fatigue, and how easily the two can be confused. What feels like low energy may actually be heaviness, stagnation, and mental fog, which are signs that the body is asking for movement and stimulation, not more rest.
Colette shares a recent personal experience of waking up feeling heavy, slow, and mentally foggy, not depleted, but stuck. Through her Ayurvedic lens she understood that these qualities were not in fact fatigue but a Kapha accumulation. Understanding this distinction prevented her from unintentionally moving further out of balance.
She shares how to recognize these qualities in your body and how to respond in a way that restores balance. This episode is about tuning inwards and taking note of the qualities you feel in your body, being curious and building a deeper relationship with your body's inner intelligence.
In this episode Colette discusses:
The difference between Kapha imbalance and true fatigue Why "feeling tired" isn't always about needing more rest Common signs of Kapha accumulation (heaviness, fog, low motivation) How Kapha shows up in the mind as inertia and lack of clarity The concept of manda (slowness/dullness) in Ayurveda Why misinterpreting symptoms can lead to deeper imbalance Simple ways to support Kapha to restore balance The importance of awareness before taking action Why this is especially relevant during the spring seasonEpisode Sponsor:

Thu, 02 Apr 2026 - 16min - 438 - Erica's Journey of Self-Compassion and Awareness - 437
Healing rarely happens through a single change. More often, it unfolds through awareness, consistency, and a growing relationship with the body and mind.
In this episode, Colette is joined by her client Erica, who shares her deeply personal journey of healing through Ayurveda. What began as a search for answers during a period of fatigue and sluggishness became a transformational process of self-discovery, compassion, and empowerment.
Erica began working with Colette in January 2025 and joined the Reset–Restore–Renew Program, where she experienced how structured cleansing, supportive routines, self-care and mindfulness practices can create a powerful container for healing. Over time, she moved from feeling heavy and depleted to experiencing renewed energy, clarity, and vitality.
In their conversation, Erica reflects on how life's busyness can easily pull us out of balance and how returning to seasonal resets and supportive habits has helped her reestablish structure and stability. With each cleanse, she noticed her awareness deepening, not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.
One of the most beautiful insights from Erica's journey is the role of self-compassion. Rather than striving for perfection, she has embraced an 80/20 approach to living Ayurveda, allowing her to maintain balance while still living fully.
This conversation is a reminder that healing is not about rigid rules. It's about learning to listen to your body, honoring where you are, and cultivating kindness toward yourself along the way.
In this episode, they discuss:
How Erica's personal healing journey led her to Ayurveda Her experience inside the Reset–Restore–Renew Program Moving from lethargy and sluggishness to renewed energy and vitality How the busyness of life can lead to imbalance and how repeating cleanses helped her reestablish balance and structure The increased physical, mental, and emotional awareness that she developed with each cleanse The importance of self-compassion and self-love on the healing journey How embracing an 80/20 approach made her Ayurvedic lifestyle sustainableJoin the Spring Digestive Reset Cleanse

Thu, 19 Mar 2026 - 15min - 436 - Jenny's Ayurveda Cleanse: A Story of Reconnection - 435
What happens when we slow down enough to truly listen?
In this heartfelt conversation, Colette is joined by her client Jenny, who shares her personal journey with Ayurveda, from her early connection with nature to her recent experience on the Digestive Reset Cleanse.
Jenny reflects on how growing up in rural Ireland with a deep love of the natural world quietly shaped her path toward yoga and, eventually, Ayurveda. What began as curiosity evolved into a meaningful relationship with practices that helped her reconnect with her body's rhythms.
In this episode, they explore her experience on the Digestive Reset Cleanse, including what surprised her most, the level of personalization and support that allowed the cleanse to feel sustainable within her real life. Rather than being restrictive, she describes it as grounding, clarifying, and deeply supportive.
Beyond digestion, Jenny shares how the cleanse helped her rediscover her creativity and cultivate a new level of awareness, not just around food, but around her thoughts, habits, and inner dialogue.
This conversation is a beautiful reminder that healing isn't about perfection. It's about listening, adjusting, and remembering who we are beneath the noise.
In this episode, they discuss:

In this episode, I'm joined by Vaidya Princy Prasad of Kerala Ayurveda Academy to explore hormone regulation through the classical lens of Ayurveda. Vaidya Princy shares practical wisdom on building awareness of hormonal fluctuations, supporting the body through stress and burnout, and navigating perimenopause with steadiness and nourishment.
In This Episode, We Explore:

Thu, 05 Mar 2026 - 1h 02min - 434 - Rebuilding Trust with Your Body with Ayurveda - 433
In Episode 432, we explored how awareness builds integrity, how listening to the body moment by moment allows coherence to arise naturally.
But what happens when awareness feels muted? What if you can't clearly feel hunger, fatigue, or even your own emotions? What if instead of clarity, there's numbness, confusion, or second-guessing?
In this follow-up episode, Colette explores what happens when body signals have been overridden for years and how Ayurveda offers a gentle, practical path to rebuilding trust with your body.
Drawing on the Ayurvedic concept of prajnaparadha (loss of awareness), this episode explains how repeated overriding of hunger, fatigue, or emotional signals is not a personal failure, it is physiology. The nervous system adapts to long-term stress by lowering the volume of internal cues, conserving energy for survival.
You'll learn how chronic stress can dull interoception (your ability to sense internal states), weaken agni (digestive and perceptual fire), and create disconnection from subtle signals.
Most importantly, you'll discover how to gently restore awareness without force.
This episode offers compassionate reassurance and practical micro-practices to help you rebuild inner reference points so that health decisions arise from relationship rather than reaction.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Why awareness can feel muted after years of overriding body signals How chronic stress affects digestion, perception, and nervous system regulation The connection between agni, interoception, and self-trust Why muted awareness is not a personal defect How Ayurveda educates you to participate in your own care Simple daily micro-practices to rebuild body trust Signs that trust and interoception are returningThis episode is an invitation to move from self-judgment to self-trust, from forcing clarity to creating safety.
Rebuilding trust with the body is not about trying harder to listen.
It's about restoring the conditions where awareness feels safe enough to return.

Thu, 26 Feb 2026 - 16min - 433 - Awareness, Integrity and Ayurveda - 432
What if integrity wasn't about discipline, willpower, or doing the "right" thing, but something that naturally arises from awareness?
In this episode, Colette explores one of the most foundational yet often overlooked principles of Ayurveda: awareness. Beneath dosha food lists, routines, herbs, and lifestyle practices lies Ayurveda's deeper invitation, to notice what is happening in the body, mind, and nervous system, moment by moment, and to respond with honesty and care.
This episode explores how awareness builds integrity from the inside out, how integrity is felt somatically in the body, and why this responsiveness is deeply physiological, influencing digestion, vitality, immunity, and nervous system regulation.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Why Ayurveda is fundamentally a system of awareness, not rules or discipline How integrity naturally emerges when awareness is present Understanding of prajnaparadha as forgetting what we already know The physiological effects of repeatedly overriding awareness on agni, ama, and ojas How integrity supports nervous system regulation and emotional resilience What integrity feels like in the body, beyond philosophy or ethics Why cleansing and daily self-care practices help restore awareness and connectionCheck out Colette's online services:

Thu, 19 Feb 2026 - 12min - 432 - What Ayurveda Teaches About Love - 431
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, love is everywhere, on our screens, in shop windows, and throughout marketing campaigns. Yet for many of us, this time of year can feel complicated, tender, or even disconnecting.
In this episode, Colette explores what Ayurveda really teaches about love, not the fleeting or idealized version we're often sold, but the steady, nourishing love that begins within.
Drawing on Ayurvedic wisdom, this episode reframes love as a state of balance, regulation, and inner union, rather than something we chase or seek outside ourselves. You'll learn how daily habits, digestion, rhythm, and self-care practices quietly shape our capacity to give and receive love in all areas of life.
This episode is an invitation to return to a more grounded, sustainable, and compassionate understanding of love, starting with your relationship with yourself.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Why Ayurveda views love as a state of balance and nourishment, not a performance or achievement Why true self-love in Ayurveda looks less dramatic and more consistent How rhythm, boundaries, and daily structure create safety and emotional resilience What "inner union" means in Ayurveda and yogic philosophy How imbalance between the Vata subdoshas of prana and apana can show up in relationships and self-care Why grounded energy supports healthier, more spacious relationships How Valentine's Day can become a reminder of inner union rather than external validationMentioned in this episode:

In this solo Ayurveda Q&A episode, Colette answers thoughtful questions from the Elements of Ayurveda Podcast Community, exploring how to work with overwhelm, perfectionism, and stress through the lens of daily habits, nervous system health, and rhythm rather than rigidity.
This episode is an invitation to approach your health with more awareness, curiosity, and compassion, and to remember that healing doesn't require doing everything perfectly, it asks us to show up gently and consistently.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Where to begin with Ayurveda when you've absorbed a lot of information and feel overwhelmed Why daily habits are one of the most underestimated, yet powerful tools for long-term healing How perfectionism can arise from different doshic patterns, especially Vata nervous system instability and Pitta rigidity or intensity Practical ways to soften perfectionism and support the nervous system through grounding, rhythm, and compassion How to stay consistent with Ayurvedic routines during busy or stressful periods without relying on willpower Why community, shared reflection, and support play a vital role in sustainable healing A contemplative closing reflection on shifting from self-criticism to curiosityMentioned in this episode:

Thu, 05 Feb 2026 - 19min - 430 - Trauma-Informed Yoga for Nervous System Healing with Sita Severson - 429
What does it mean to heal when the nervous system no longer feels safe in the body or the world?
In this episode, Colette is joined by Sita Severson, Director of the Soul of Yoga Institute in San Diego, Ayurvedic Practitioner, Certified Yoga Therapist, and Vedic counselor. Sita's work lives at the intersection of ancient wisdom and modern trauma science, supporting people through grief, addiction recovery, burnout, and chronic stress with compassion and practicality.
Drawing from her own lived experience as well as decades of teaching and clinical work, Sita shares how Ayurveda, yoga, and pranayama can gently support regulation without overwhelming the system and why healing is not about fixing what's broken, but restoring relationship with the body and self.
This conversation is especially meaningful for anyone navigating grief, recovery, exhaustion, or a sense of disconnection, and for practitioners interested in trauma-sensitive, embodied approaches to wellbeing.
In this episode, you'll hear:
How Sita's personal healing journey informs the way she teaches and works with trauma today What it means to rebuild trust in the body when the nervous system has learned that the world isn't safe How chronic stress, grief, and burnout show up in the body's physiology The role of Ayurveda, yoga, and pranayama in gently supporting nervous system regulation What truly defines a trauma-informed yoga practice Why Ayurveda and yoga emphasize gradual, participatory healing rather than quick fixes How healing can open the door to self-actualization, not just symptom relief A simple reflection and practice listeners can explore in their own timeVisit the Soul of Yoga website here.

Thu, 08 Jan 2026 - 16min - 426 - Ayurvedic Cleansing for the New Year: Resetting Digestion, Energy and Intention - 425
As we step into a new year, many of us focus on resolutions, but what if a more powerful question is: How do I actually want to feel?
In this episode, Colette explores Ayurvedic cleansing not as a quick detox or rigid reset, but as a gentle ritual, a way to digest the past, build resilience, and step into the year ahead with clarity, steadiness, and intention.
Rather than pushing or restricting, this conversation invites you to slow down, listen inward, and reconnect with digestion as the foundation of physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing.
If you're craving a nourishing fresh start that supports your nervous system and long-term health, this episode is for you.
In this episode, we explore:
Why the threshold between one year and the next is considered a potent time for healing The lost art of ritual and why modern life often skips over important transitions How unprocessed experiences and emotions can create subtle ama (toxicity) in the body and mind Digestion as more than food, including how we digest experiences, emotions, and stress Why Ayurveda prioritizes preventative health and resilience, especially in an unpredictable world How gentle cleansing supports adaptability, immunity, and nervous system regulation Cleansing as an act of self-respect, not willpower or deprivation The role of community (sangha) and why group cleansing can be deeply supportiveLinks & Resources

Thu, 11 Dec 2025 - 23min - 422 - Slowing Down to Reset: Sónia's Digestive Reset Cleanse Journey - 421
In this inspiring episode, Colette is joined by her client, Sónia from Flores, a small and remote island in the Azores archipelago off the coast of Portugal. After an overstimulating and energetically demanding Summer season, Sónia felt called to reset her body and mind. She chose to do the private Digestive Reset Cleanse in October, but quickly realised that the cleanse required a pace of life she wasn't accustomed to.
Together, Colette and Sónia explore:
Her desire for a full body-mind reset and the initial reluctance to slow down her activity during the cleanse. How awareness slowly blossomed as she softened into the process, noticing where her resistance to rest and stillness was coming from. The many positive effects of the cleanse, including improved bloodwork results, a noticeable reduction in inflammation, more energy, and a sense of glowing from the inside out. The surprising simplicity that followed, as her new habits naturally moved onto autopilot, making her daily life feel more spacious and easeful. Her new 80/20 approach, which allows her to maintain balance while still enjoying life, without rigidity or overwhelm.Sónia's story is a beautiful reminder that slowing down isn't always comfortable at first, especially for those who thrive on movement and stimulation. But with support, presence, and Ayurvedic guidance, it can become one of the most transformative medicines, offering clarity, ease, and renewed vitality.
If you've been feeling overstimulated, resistant to rest, or craving a reset, this conversation will resonate deeply and offer gentle encouragement to honour your body's needs.

Thu, 27 Nov 2025 - 20min - 420 - Navigating Perimenopause with Ayurveda: My Sister Niamh's Story - 419
In this heartfelt and deeply personal episode of the Elements of Ayurveda Podcast, Colette is joined by her sister, Niamh, an Occupational Therapist who specializes in mental health for children and young adults. Together, they explore Niamh's honest and vulnerable journey through perimenopause, a time that tested even her professional understanding of the mind and her long-time relationship with Ayurvedic living.
Despite her professional knowledge of mental health and years of practicing Ayurvedic principles, Niamh found herself facing out-of-character symptoms and a sense of losing control, especially during intense hot flushes and cognitive difficulties. This conversation offers a compassionate look at what it means to navigate hormonal shifts when even your best tools seem to fall short.
Colette and Niamh discuss how Ayurveda supported her self-understanding, how she began to view her therapeutic work through a new lens, and how the Ayurvedic Digestive Reset Cleanse helped her find stability amidst the fluctuations of perimenopause. They also talk about Niamh's integration of hormonal replacement therapy (HRT) as part of her perimenopausal journey.
This episode is a reminder that perimenopause is not just a hormonal transition, it's an invitation to deepen self-awareness, compassion, and connection to one's true rhythm.

In this episode of the Elements of Ayurveda Podcast, we're exploring a truly beautiful concept in Ayurvedic wisdom, Sneha, a Sanskrit word that means both oil and love. And that's no coincidence.
Sneha is the essence of softness, warmth, and care that keeps our body, mind, and heart supple. It's both nourishment and an act of conscious love, a daily reminder that tending to ourselves is not selfish, but sacred.

You'll also discover how Sneha softens not only the physical body but also the mind and emotions, helping to cultivate resilience, calm, and compassion in your daily life.
In this episode, you'll learn:
The dual meaning of Sneha in Sanskrit and why oiling is an act of love The difference between external Sneha and internal Sneha How Sneha supports physical health, from joint mobility and skin nourishment to digestion and immunity The emotional and psychological benefits of Sneha for calming Vata, reducing stress, and fostering self-compassion How to personalize your Sneha practice for each dosha and season Simple, daily Sneha rituals you can try at home, even if you only have a few minutesLinks & Resources

Thu, 02 Oct 2025 - 18min - 412 - The Gut-Emotion Connection: Ayurveda's Reset for Body and Mind - 411
In Ayurveda, digestion is never just about food, it's about how we process life itself. When our digestion is weak, the body feels heavy, the mind becomes clouded, and both physical toxins (ama) and mental toxins (mental ama) begin to accumulate.
In this episode, Colette explores how poor digestion affects not only our physical health but also our emotional wellbeing, clarity, and self-confidence. You'll learn how the gut-mind connection works in Ayurveda, why unprocessed emotions weigh just as heavily as undigested food, and what practices help restore balance.
We'll also look at how an Ayurvedic reset, including diet, awareness, and daily routine can help clear both physical and emotional heaviness, bringing you back to lightness, calm, and clarity.
What you'll learn in this episode:
How Ayurveda explains the gut-mind connection through the mano vaha srotas (the channel of the mind).
The role of the subdoshas, Sadhaka Pitta, Prana Vayu, and Tarpaka Kapha in processing emotions and experiences.
What mental ama is and how it impacts mood, memory, and self-confidence.
The emotional imprint of poor digestion, why heaviness, irritability, or brain fog often follow sluggish digestion.
How sattvic foods and routines promote clarity of mind while rajasic and tamasic influences create imbalance.
Practical Ayurvedic guidelines for preventing the build-up of mental ama, from mindful eating and circadian rhythm to tuning inward and protecting your senses.

Have you ever noticed cravings sneak up when you're stressed, tired, or at the change of a season? Thu, 04 Sep 2025 - 23min - 408 - Five Habits That Affect Digestion and How Ayurveda Resets Them - 407
When most of us think about improving digestion, we focus on food choices, what to eat and what to avoid. But Ayurveda teaches us that how and when we eat, along with our daily lifestyle habits, are just as important for keeping agni (digestive fire) strong and preventing ama (toxins).
In this episode, Colette explores five often-overlooked habits that quietly weaken digestion over time and shares simple Ayurvedic fixes to reset them. These shifts may seem small, but they can have a profound effect on energy, immunity, and overall wellbeing.
Here's what you'll learn in this episode:
Why agni thrives on rhythm and how irregular eating times throw digestion off track
How emotional stress diverts energy away from healthy digestion
The hidden impact of late-night screen use on your body's natural repair cycles
Why even "healthy" foods can cause ama when combined improperly
How eating out of sync with the seasons creates imbalance and what to do instead
You'll also hear practical, before-and-after lifestyle examples to help you notice where these patterns might be showing up in your own life.

Thu, 29 May 2025 - 30min - 394 - From Routine to Ritual: Making Ayurvedic Dinacharya Sacred - 393
Life often becomes a rush of tasks, leading to a disconnect from ourselves, our breath, our inner rhythm and the rhythm of nature. Ritual helps us return to ourselves within our existing routines. It transforms mundane actions like showering or having tea into moments of presence and appreciation. Approaching self-care practices as rituals, rather than tasks that need to be checked off daily, fosters a sense of being rooted, nourished, and present, bringing us closer to our true selves. In this episode Colette wants to encourage you to transform your Dinacharya, the Ayurvedic daily self-care practices, from mere routines into deeply nourishing rituals that foster a stronger connection with your inner self. This involves moving beyond simply completing tasks and instead taking the time to listen to your inner guidance, allowing you to make more intentional and meaningful choices for your well-being. She covers the following:
Daily self-care practices (dinacharya) as a blueprint for alignment. Why routine can feel empty. Turning routine into ritual. Mindset shifts: from doing to being. The psychological, spiritual and energetic benefits of sacred ritual. Personalizing and flowing with your daily ritual.*

Thu, 27 Mar 2025 - 49min - 385 - Beyond Diets- Ayurveda's Way to Sustainable Weight and Health - 384
When we think of dieting, restrictive eating, calorie counting, and short-term trends often come to mind. Ayurveda takes a different approach. It offers personalized dietary advice that nourishes and heals your body. Rather than a short-term restriction, Ayurveda views food as an integral part of a sustainable, holistic wellbeing strategy which helps to keep your body/mind in balance, preventing dis-ease. Colette discusses why Ayurveda doesn't align with modern dieting:
One-size-fits-all diets ignore individual needs. Modern diets focus on physical appearance, not health. Modern dieting often promotes restriction and deprivation which can weaken digestion. Lack of consideration for timing of meals with the Circadian rhythm. Mindful eating is not addressed and how it affects digestion. Modern diets can create emotional and mental stress. Diets often don't consider seasonality and environment. Ayurveda focuses on disease prevention, longevity and sustainability*

Thu, 06 Feb 2025 - 1h 00min - 378 - Navigating Kapha Season with Ayurveda - 377
Kapha season is considered to be late winter and spring in Ayurveda, however, it's best to think of the qualities of the season as this is what determines whether it's kapha season. It's when there's cooler temperatures, the ground is saturated with rain or melting snow and the air is heavy with humidity.
Having the understanding and awareness of the qualities which are present in our natural environment and our body/mind can help guide us in our food and lifestyle choices which can in turn prevent imbalances and illness.
Some signs of excess kapha dosha are:
Colds, coughs, flu, allergies with mucus and congestion Agni mandya (slow digestion) Feeling heavy and sluggish after eating Water retention Weight gain Lethargy and oversleeping Inertia or lack of motivation Slowness in all activities Foggy mind Feeling sad or depressed Withdrawing from social activities. In this episode Colette gives Ayurvedic tips on how to navigate this season to prevent these imbalances and she covers pacifying foods and tastes, best cooking methods, how and when to eat, self-care and mindfulness practices along with emotional and mental health advice.
