If you believe it’s IMPOSSIBLE to attract the type of man that has ambition, makes plans, and takes charge in your relationship…I may have an idea why that is.

Once upon a time, I was in the same shoes as you: fed up with attracting men who wouldn’t so much as initiate a phone call, sick of having to do ALL the work in every relationship, and wondering where all the ambitious men were.

But you know what else I believed?

That men were dumb as rocks.

No, really. I genuinely, wholeheartedly believed that men were inferior to me, that they couldn’t do anything right, and they needed my guidance in everything…

But if that was true, well…why on earth would I want to have one of them leading me?

It doesn’t matter what you consciously say you want. If your unconscious mind believes men are inferior, the unconscious will win over the conscious every time. Let’s talk about why this superiority is actually sabotaging our dating lives.

There’s one stage of new relationships that no one talks about.

We try to pretend it doesn’t happen. In fact, we do one better (or worse): we usually dip out of the relationship the second we enter this phase.

The first phase of any new relationship is the honeymoon phase…and it is POWERFUL.

That cocktail of hormones hits HARD. We’re floating on cloud nine. All we see in front of us is our perfect, amazing partner. Everything they do is so cute and sweet and amazing…

Until it isn’t.

Until one day, we wake up and notice every little thing about them that actually annoys us.

Welcome to the DOUBTING PHASE: the phase of relationships where we suddenly see the reality of our partner, not our hormone hopped-up perception of them. 

The comedown hits even harder than the high. And unfortunately, this is where most people decide it’s time to end the relationship, because “the magic” is gone. 

This phase is normal. Everyone has it. But we need to change the way we approach the doubting phase…because if we bide our time and make it to the other side, what’s waiting for us is a phase of love unlike any other.

If you’re walking around telling yourself “I DESERVE a relationship…”

Sit down for a second. Let’s talk.

I say this because I love you: you do not “deserve” a relationship. 

You don’t deserve anything from another individual just because you want it. 

Imagine if you walked into a job interview. You did no prep. You did no research. You wore your sweats. And when they start asking you questions, you just go, “What do you mean? Why are you asking me this? I deserve this job. Just give it to me.”

They would look at you like you were FUCKING DELUSIONAL…because you’d have to be in order to act that way.

We all know we can’t act like that in most areas of our lives. But when it comes to dating…all that goes flying out the window, and suddenly we’re deep in our entitled princess energy, believing we deserve something we didn’t put in the work for.

If dating feels like it’s too hard, it’s probably because you’re approaching it with a heavy vibe of entitlement and need. But I promise you this: if you just shift this perspective, your dating life will be completely transformed.

I love delving into the shadowy parts of ourselves that no one likes to talk about…comparison being one of them.

We all compare ourselves to others. We all feel envious of someone else’s successes, both in business and in relationships…especially when they’re in the same industry as us. And I don’t think these experiences are wrong…but when we lie about it to ourselves and refuse to OWN what we’re thinking and feeling, that’s when it becomes a problem.

When we try to pretend we aren’t playing the comparison game, we actually end up unconsciously letting it steal it the driver’s seat…and before we know it, our businesses are being run by our perceptions of what others have achieved and what we think we’re doing “wrong.”

There are ways to quit the comparison game…and it starts with looking for places where we might be acting a liiittle entitled. Let’s examine this together.

It’s time to get reconnected to your VOICE.

When you use your voice to set boundaries with confidence, people FEEL that frequency. It inspires a response of respect. It calls people to listen.

But if you’re DISCONNECTED from your voice…if you don’t speak up because you think other people can pick up on your boundaries on their own, or if you feel the need to explain yourself over and over because you don’t believe you’ll be heard…

That’s a different frequency. And it doesn’t inspire others to listen and respect at all. Here’s how to set boundaries CONFIDENTLY.

I have waited a long, long time to have this conversation.

Not because it hasn’t been requested—it has. Not because I didn’t know how I felt about it—I do.

I held off for two reasons. One, because I wanted to talk about it when I felt led to do so, and two…

Honestly, I was nervous about how I would be received. But I’m not nervous anymore. So, let’s talk about body positivity.

My relationship with food and my body has been a bit of a rollercoaster—I was lucky enough to be raised in a home where I had a healthy view of food, and I’m also a registered dietician, so I “get” food. But when I was in college, things took a bit of a turn…and since then, I’ve learned a LOT about holding duality when it comes to body image, food restriction, and wanting to look a certain way.

Too many people associate MONEY with GREED.

And I believe that’s absolutely false.

That is completely up to you.

When it comes to money, there are three things people normalize that I absolutely REFUSE to accept…

Firstly, that money is a limited resource, and there isn’t enough to go around…

Secondly, feeling shame and regret every time they spend money, even if they have the money to spend—and even if it purchased something that they greatly desired…

And thirdly, that we are limited from experiencing more by our circumstances.

Here’s the truth about abundance mindset:

You can say all the right things as much as you want…but it’s the action you take alongside your mindset that proves the truth of how you feel about money and abundance.

When you’re surrounded by an environment filled with victim mindset and the normalization of limitation…good luck having a life that can transcend that environment.

When you live beside limitation, you will end up living in limitation. But when you plug into an environment where people prioritize expansion, firm standard-setting, and a life of limitlessness…

When you walk into a designer store, you do it differently than you would walk into a Walmart.

You enter with a different price tag in mind. You probably already know what you want—or at least know that you’re there to make a purchase, not browse. You’re not wasting your own time or anyone else’s. 

Because of the way Louis Vuitton conducts itself through marketing, atmosphere, and treatment of their products, it calls you to a higher standard yourself, because the energy is different.

The same principle applies to dating. When you embody your standards and uplevel your frequency, people feel that and respond to it—you don’t even have to say it to them. They just know.

It’s time to dive past the surface level of standard-setting and start embodying the standards we’ve supposedly set for ourselves.

How often have you immediately blurted out “You too!” when somebody compliments you?

“You have such pretty hair!” “You too!”

“You’re so smart!” “You too!”

“You’re so beautiful.” “You too!”

It’s like we can’t stand to just sit and HOLD attention when it’s given to us…we have to throw it back as fast as we can. Why?

Because we’ve trained ourselves to be uncomfortable holding it.

Because we don’t think of ourselves as “attention-seekers.”

Here’s the thing: attention-seeking is not the same as receiving attention. And until we learn that lesson, we’re never going to be comfortable holding attention from others…and we’re never going to be able to have the supportive relationship we dream about where we are known, loved, and seen for exactly who we are.

Let’s talk about VISIBILITY, VULNERABILITY, ATTENTION, and BEING SEEN…without feeling the need to get everyone’s eyes off of us as fast as possible.

Last week, we had a chat about what it looks like when your standards are actually conditions, and you’re too wishy-washy about standing firm in the standards you’ve set…

This week, I want to talk about what happens when you’re TOO strict with your standard-setting, and it actually ends up narrowing your dating pool unnecessarily.

I’ve heard a lot of people asking whether their standards are “too high,” and honestly? I don’t believe this is even a thing. Standards aren’t high or low; they just are. They’re something that you’ve decided to set and stand behind…

But sometimes, we set them in places that aren’t actually aligned with what we’re truly seeking in a relationship.

Let’s talk about what happens when you set standards from a place of entitlement or outside pressure rather than what will ACTUALLY make you feel safe and secure in a relationship. Because I’m betting that your ego has started an unconscious game of peek-a-boo within your standards…and it’s actually starting to sabotage your dating life.

I don’t actually believe in the idea of “lowering” your standards.

I don’t believe that STANDARDS can be lowered. A standard is something that just IS. It is the way things are, no unless, ifs, ands, or buts…

And if you disagree, I’m willing to bet you haven’t been setting standards. I think you’ve been setting conditions.

If your “standards” rely on outside factors and are constantly lowering and raising depending on what you’re experiencing, guess what? That’s not a standard. 

And if you want to actually attract what you SAY you truly want, we need to sit down and get solid about what your standards truly are…

I have a question for the entrepreneurs in the audience…

How do you react when someone misunderstands your meaning, your intentions, etcetera?

If you get panicky, feel the impulse to COMPLETELY overhaul your approach + personality, or get defensive in the comments of your IG post…you’re not gonna make it as an entrepreneur.

A lot of people in the entrepreneurial space think that if somebody misunderstands them, that's a sign that they need to change how they do things. They think they should never do that thing again, say that thing again, talk about that thing again for fear of someone else getting upset about it.

This. Isn’t. True.

If you can't hold that space between how you see yourself and how others see you, I'm telling you right now, you will crumble. Let’s talk about why.

There are soooo many lessons that I’ve learned from being in a relationship for just over a year now.

The biggest lie avoidant attachment will tell you?

That you’re safer never showing anyone the REAL you.

People with avoidant attachment get squeamish AF when someone starts to open up to them. They can’t stand the idea of being vulnerable in front of someone else. Their avoidant attachment tells them that the only reason anyone would want to get to know them on a deeper level is so they can have something on them…so they can use that weakness to manipulate and hurt you.

Here’s the truth: most people who are romantically interested in you don’t have it out for you. And if that’s a mindblowing revelation, just wait until you hear what else I have to say…

This was a HUGE epiphany for me, and it definitely didn’t dawn on me until I started trying to figure out why making friends—something that used to be sooo easy as a kid—suddenly felt IMPOSSIBLE as an adult. PAUSE. Before you go any further, let me start by saying this:

If you truly, deeply, in your heart of hearts, DO NOT WANT a relationship? That’s great. That is absolutely great for you.

But more often than not, when I come across people in my coaching and personal life who claim they don’t want anything to do with relationships…the truth is something very different.

If you’ve had to convince yourself of all the reasons why you don’t actually want a relationship, why they’re too much trouble, why it’s not worth it…guess what? It’s not that you don’t want a relationship…it’s that your ego can’t take another minute of wanting what it THINKS it can’t have.

Even if this feels better in the moment, this kind of denial and suppression…it’s not serving you, friends. Not even a little bit. Let me tell you why it’s actually okay to admit you want a relationship.

“We all have the same 24 hours in a day.”

The WORST, right? Nobody likes being told this when it comes to the discussion around time management. Here’s the thing: while this (admittedly annoying) statement is absolutely true, the conversation around time management isn’t actually about time…it’s about attention.

We all have the same amount of time, but we DON’T have the same amount of attention, and that’s where this “Same 24 Hours” theory breaks down.

I firmly believe that not being able to get things done—or burning yourself out from piling too much on your plate—is not actually a TIME management problem. The truth? This is actually a DISTRACTION and ATTENTION management problem. Here are my two best tips for utilizing attention and distraction management!

Today we’re going to talk about something that most people would deny- the fact that we all get jealous. But what if instead of shoving it down in a well of shame, we instead took a moment to process it?

Chances are when you feel jealousy rear its ugly head, it’s not even really about whatever you’re envious of. You probably grew up in a household where you were constantly compared to others: a sibling, a classmate, whoever it might have been. This taught you never to truly see yourself or focus on your own needs, but only to view yourself as you related to others. Your path was defined by theirs, or at least, you thought it should have been.  In this episode we’ll talk more about:

Jealousy isn’t even really about what the other person has or is doing; I’d argue it’s actually a signal that you’re searching for love and acceptance. It’s a warning sign flagging you down that maybe just maybe you’re not on a path that will lead you to the happy life you deserve.

Chances are you’ve likely heard about the new trend in parenting- gentle parenting. While it may sound permissive or ineffective, if you really look into it, it’s the natural response to the inherent violence that has been culturally accepted in previous generations.

Blind obedience through fear is not helping our children learn how to process difficult emotions, and it is a breeding ground for future emotional issues and resentments. It can be hard to find other ways when we were most likely brought up by parents who never modeled apologizing for the sake of repair or connection- the emphasis was on obedience at all costs. Our parents wanted to win, no matter how it ultimately affected us as people, and our relationship with them.

We don’t need to be perfect all the time to raise thoughtful and compassionate children; we simply have to always try and honor the person they are becoming while understanding that when we “lose it”, it’s actually a wonderful opportunity to show them accountability.

Stemming from the episode last week about codependency, this week I wanted to talk about a related topic. Especially for those concerned with codependency, it can be really easy to go to the other side of the spectrum and become hyper-independent. So, that’s what I’m discussing in this episode.

It’s really important to me that I communicate that it’s okay to lean on your loved ones for support and help. Doing so doesn’t equate to codependency, and I know that sometimes it can be confusing to navigate that. It’s really easy to demonize dependency in general when you’re in this position, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

The idea of being fully healed is something I’ve heard referenced time and time again, and it’s what I want to talk about on today’s episode.
