Sylvia on the fruits of the Spirit, how we have been chosen by God and how we have to keep bearing fruit, whatever gifts he has given us. Sylvia goes into how the Kingdom of God is not about what we want, but about doing what God wants us to do. If God wants us to do things differently, we should do things differently. Just because we want to do something, that doesn’t mean we should do it. We need to ask God first. http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/04/Sylvia-Billington-The-Fruits-of-the-Spirit.mp3

Helen on giving Jesus the authority to work in our lives and through our lives. As believers in Jesus Christ, with the power of the Holy Spirit guiding and empowering us, we have authority given to us – but we need to be careful to use it correctly. Jesus gave us authority to preach the gospel to help the hurting world, not to harm it further. Through prayer, and exercising our spiritual gifts, we can lead others to Jesus. God has entrusted us with the authority of believers and we should use it wisely. http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Helen-OBrien-Jesus-the-Divine-Authority.mp3
Sun, 17 Mar 2024 - 29min - 605 - Dave Frodsham: The Real Jesus – what happens in the wilderness
Dave continues his series on The Real Jesus with “His call to follow”. On Mothering Sunday 2024, Dave talks about how Mothering Sunday wasn’t originally about mums; it was introduced in the Middle Ages and was a day when you returned to your mother church, where you were baptised. But Mothers are so powerful, having a huge influence on their children, and deserve to be celebrated. Looking at Mark 1:14-20, 2:13-17, Dave talks about how God wants something from us. He wants us to : * Repent and Believe in the gospel* Put the call to follow Jesus before our careers* Put the call to follow Jesus before our families* Put the call to follow Jesus before earning money We are to learn from Jesus, love like Jesus and live like Jesus. As Jonathan Parnell says: “A disciple of Jesus is a worshiper, a servant, and a witness.” http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Dave-Frodsham-Jesus-call-to-follow.mp3
Mon, 11 Mar 2024 - 37min - 604 - Chris Griffiths: Not my will, but yours
Chris follows our series of messages on who Jesus is by starting to look at what Jesus did. Jesus showed us how to surrender to God’s will. We need to put our faith in God’s will, not our own – just like Noah and Moses. Noah built an ark that was 75 feet wide and 450 feet long taking thousands of man hours. It was not easy and let’s not forget he didn’t have a B&Q to use for materials! Moses is called to lead the Israelites out of Egypt and, after raising objection upon objection, finally accepts God’s will. Fast forward to Jesus. After asking God to take the cup of his crucifixion away, he says “may your will be done.| Jesus conquered his fears through prayer and submission, showing us by example how we can do just that. http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/Chris-Griffiths-Not-my-will-but-yours.mp3
Mon, 04 Mar 2024 - 41min - 603 - Graham Webb – Raising up elders and leaders
Graham Webb from Jubilee Church Liverpool on raising up elders and leaders. As Jubilee announces plans to appoint Dave Frodsham and Rick Robertson as its elders by the end of May 2024, Graham goes over what the Bible says about eldership and leadership. 1 Peter 5: 1-4: So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed: shepherd the flock of God that is among you, exercising oversight,[a] not under compulsion, but willingly, as God would have you;[b] not for shameful gain, but eagerly; not domineering over those in your charge, but being examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. Ephesians 3:10: So that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. This podcast will be available again soon. http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Graham-Webb-Raising-Elders-and-Leaders.mp3

Sun, 25 Feb 2024 - 49min - 601 - Dave Frodsham: The Real Jesus – what happens in the wilderness
Dave continues his series on The Real Jesus with part two of “In the wilderness”, looking at Mark 1:9-15 – Jesus’ temptation by Satan. He also illustrates how the Trinity – Father, Son and Holy Spirit – is all three at the same time, not one on one day and one on another. It is as if the three are in a constantly moving dance. Dave also talks about how Jesus suffered all that we suffered PLUS death on the cross, and went through it all to provide salvation for us. Mark 1:9-15 The Baptism of Jesus 9 In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And when he came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens being torn open and the Spirit descending on him like a dove. 11 And a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son;[a] with you I am well pleased.” The Temptation of Jesus 12 The Spirit immediately drove him out into the wilderness. 13 And he was in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan. And he was with the wild animals, and the angels were ministering to him. Jesus Begins His Ministry 14 Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, 15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/02/Dave-Frodsham-The-Real-Jesus-–-in-the-wilderness.mp3

It also identifies his authority over people and over the natural world. Dave also talks about how Jesus wants us to trust in Him all the time – not just on special occasions and when we need Him. If you look for fulfilment in church, life, money or even family then you will ultimately be disappointed – you will only find fulfilment in Jesus. http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Dave-Frodsham-The-Real-Jesus.mp3
Sun, 21 Jan 2024 - 46min - 597 - Andy Arscott, Running the race marked out for us
In Running The Race Marked Out for Us, guest speaker Andy Arscott talks about how how we all have a purpose in life, even if we might not always be sure what it is. Paul compared our life to a race. God gives that race a purpose – He knows what we’re going to encounter. He wants us to be the best us we can be and will change us, no matter how long it takes. We may have to endure hardships along the way – in fact that much is guaranteed – but there are great rewards waiting for us if we put our belief in God. http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Andy-Arscott-Running-the-Race-Marked-Out-For-Us.mp3

Rick outlines four ways of supporting each other and gathering together: 1. Being honest with each other2. Asking for prayer3. Giving and receiving practical help4. The secret ingredient – watch the message to find out! http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Rick-Robertson-Rally-to-me-there.mp3

On the final day of 2023, Danielle Wynn shares a message of hope – the hope we have in Jesus. Jesus is trustworthy, kind, loving and generous – that’s why we can rely on Him. We don’t have to rely on superstitions or anything else. Do you trust in Jesus? On the first Sunday of advent, Dave looks at Ephesians 3: 14-21 and asks us: “What are your expectations for Christmas?” Are we thinking about presents? Church meetings? Our children’s reactions? Dave asks us to consider whether we expect more of the world than we do of God, and challenges us to expect more of Him, not to measure results like the world does, and to remember to give glory to God. http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/12/Dave-Frodsham-Christmas-Expectations.mp3

Rick looks at Acts 10 and the birth of the multi-ethnic church. Rick asks us who we have ruled out from ever becoming a Christian? Maybe it’s someone who we have tried for years to come to God but with no success, maybe it’s someone we have decided in our own heads could never become a Christian. Rick talks about the difference it can make when we are public about our beliefs and invite others to faith. http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Rick-Robertson-Who-have-you-ruled-out.mp3

Dave continues his message about how Jesus is the bread of life by looking at how Jesus is the king of kings. There are many passages in the Bible where Jesus is spoken of as a king: – Psalm 2:10-12– In Luke 1:30–33, where Jesus is announced as being born as King – In Matthew 2:1-6, where the wise men come seeking to worship the new born King of Jews– In John 12:12-15, where he enters Jerusalem and is welcomed as the king– In Luke 23:35–38, where he is mocked with the title “King of the Jews” on the cross – In Hebrews 1:3–4, Revelation 17:14 and Revelation 19:16, where he is called the King of Kings and Lord of Lords after his death and resurrection Dave asks us if we are truly making Jesus king of our lives every day. http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Dave-Frodsham-Jesus-is-the-king-of-kings.mp3

Denise on how Jesus is the light of the world. Light is at the beginning of the Bible, in Genesis, and at the very end, in Revelation. Denise makes four points: 1. Jesus is our light, as well as being the light of the world2. God called us out of darkness and into the light3. Light casts out darkness4. We are a light to the world. Questions to consider What does it mean to be in darkness? What does it mean to be in light How has the Lord been a light to you? How can we be a light to the world? http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Denise-Griffiths-Jesus-is-the-Light-of-the-World.mp3
Sun, 29 Oct 2023 - 34min - 586 - Vernon Martin: Being brothers and sisters in Christ
Vernon on Ephesians 2: 11-22. As Christians and as a church, our focus is to know our redeemer – Christ. It is because of Christ that we can say to other people of different races that they are our brothers and sisters in Christ. In Christ we can know God – and that is the best thing ever. http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Vernon-Martin-October-22nd-2023.mp3
Sun, 22 Oct 2023 - 33min - 585 - Keith Cooper: Wells of Salvation
Guest speaker Keith Cooper, of Freedom Church Chester, on Isaiah 12:1-6. Keith looks into how, as worshippers of God, we also need to be on mission for God, and how we need to stop shrinking God and His power – otherwise our lives can become joyless, because joy is a fruit of the spirit. Christian joy is not external – it is internal. If we look to other things for our joy – reputation, possessions, money – they will let us down, whereas God and the Holy Spirit never will. Keith reminds us that Paul was in chains for Christ, and yet was able to say ‘I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.’ http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Keith-Cooper-Wells-of-Salvation.mp3
Sun, 15 Oct 2023 - 36min - 584 - Dave Frodsham: Who is Jesus? He is the bread of life Part 2
Dave continues his message about how Jesus is the bread of life by looking at John 6: 35-59. In this passage, Jesus questions people’s motives in pursuing Him. Are the people pursuing Jesus because He is the Son of God or because they are hungry? Jesus has performed miracles but the disciples are still looking for proof that they can believe in Him as the Son of God. Dave compares that to how we can be like that – “last week was good, God, but this week isn’t so good. Where have you gone?” http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Dave-Frodsham-Jesus-is-the-bread-of-life-Part-2.mp3
Sun, 08 Oct 2023 - 35min - 583 - Dave Frodsham: Who is Jesus? He is the bread of life
Dave continues our series on ‘Who is Jesus’ by looking at John 6:1-9 and 22-40 and how Jesus is the bread of life. Just as we don’t get any benefit from bread unless we eat it, we don’t get any benefit from Jesus unless we believe in Him. That’s why God tells us that we must believe, know and trust in Jesus. We don’t have to live a perfect life to get eternal life; we just need to trust Him. http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Dave-Frodsham-Jesus-is-the-bread-of-life.mp3

Those five pillars form the foundation of our faith. http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Vernon-Martin-The-five-pillars-of-our-faith.mp3
Tue, 26 Sep 2023 - 30min - 581 - Dave Frodsham: Who is Jesus? He is the suffering servant
Dave continues our series on ‘Who is Jesus’ by looking at a number of scriptures, on the theme of Jesus being the suffering servant.. Dave goes into how Jesus comes not as a king or to be served, but to serve others and to die. He looks at the four servant songs in Isaiah, our ambition to be great and what Jesus says about that, and at how Jesus is the lamb of God. Scripture Dave makes reference to include: Four servant songs in Isaiah Isaiah 42:1-4 Isaiah 50:5-6 Isaiah 53:3-6 Our ambition to be great Mark 10: 43-45 How Jesus came to serve Revelation 5:6-10 John 1: 29,36 Psalm 75:8 http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Dave-Frodsham-Jesus-is-the-suffering-servant.mp3
Sun, 17 Sep 2023 - 41min - 580 - Dave Frodsham: Who is Jesus? He is the speaking one
Dave continues our “Who is Jesus?” series by looking at John 4:1-30. It can be hard to talk to people we don’t know or who we feel we don’t have anything in common with. It can be even harder to talk to people we don’t know – or even those that we do know – about Jesus and what he has done in our lives. And yet that it was Jesus calls us to do. We need to be confident in sharing how he has helped us and how he can help others. http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Dave-Frodsham-Who-is-Jesus-He-is-the-speaking-one.mp3
Sun, 10 Sep 2023 - 42min - 579 - Rick Robertson – Does Jesus bring perfect unity?
Rick on unity, and how the whole world wants unity, but that people being united together without God was NEVER God’s plan. The Holy Spirit brings us into unity as the church. Rick looks into: – Brokenness of unity, attempts at unity without God– Jesus’ role in making unity a reality– Unity within the Church, through the work of the Holy Spirit http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Rick-Robertson-Does-Jesus-bring-perfect-unity.mp3
Tue, 05 Sep 2023 - 43min - 578 - Dave Frodsham: Who is Jesus? He is the resurrection and the life
Dave continues our “Who is Jesus?” series by looking at John 11:17-44. Dave looks at the story of Lazarus and reminds us that Jesus has a plan; He knows what’s ahead. We can trust Him. When we encounter God’s delays, it isn’t because He doesn’t love us. We are all affected by death – it is a shadow upon our lives. We need to be ready and have faith as we walk into those things. We shouldn’t accept death as something natural – it wasn’t God’s original purpose. Eternal life was. That’s why we struggle with it – because something in us rejects it. Instead of trying to accept death as something natural, we should: Grieve with faith and hope Know God’s love Accept God’s grace Questions to consider: 1. Jesus delays leaving to see Lazarus when he hears he is ill. What delays have you experienced / are experiencing and how have you dealt with it? 2. What differences do you see in how Martha and Mary interact with Jesus after the loss of their brother? What can we learn from them? (1 Thes 4:13-14) 3. What do we learn about Jesus from this passage? In how he responds and what he does? 4. God’s grace shown to Lazarus is like what happens to us when we get saved. How can we learn to accept God’s grace? http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Dave-Frodsham-Jesus-is-the-resurrection-and-the-life.mp3
Sun, 27 Aug 2023 - 39min - 577 - Chris Griffiths: Being Thankful
Chris on being thankful and why it’s so important. 1- Why can we be thankful?2 – How can we get better at being thankful?3 – What happens spiritually to us when we are thankful?4 – What hinders us from being thankful?5 – Is there anything we want to be thankful for today and why specifically?6 – Is there anything we need to ask for prayer for to allow us to be thankful? http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Chris-Griffiths-Being-thankful.mp3
Sun, 20 Aug 2023 - 42min - 576 - Dave Frodsham: Who is Jesus? He is the true vine
Dave continues our “Who is Jesus?” series by looking at John 15:5-8. Jesus can be seen to be our one true vine and we are called to abide – or find out home – in Him, which means being rightly related to Christ’s word, making a commitment to prayer and obeying Him. Dave also looks into what the results will be when we do that. http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Dave-Frodsham-August-13th-2023.mp3
Sun, 13 Aug 2023 - 43min - 575 - Sylvia Billington: Who is Jesus? The restorer of the kingdom of God
Sylvia continues our series looking at the different facets of Jesus’ personality by looking at how Jesus is the restorer of the kingdom of God. Jesus came not to share about faith, or preach, but to restore the kingdom of God. During the three years that Jesus preached, he only preached about the kingdom of God. When God created man, he had a plan. He wanted to bring His kingdom to earth. He created man in His own image and likeness to rule and dominate over every living thing. That is why He created every one of us. Genesis 1:26-28 (AMP): Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them have complete authority over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the cattle, and over the entire earth, and over everything that creeps and crawls on the earth.” So God created man in His own image, in the image and likeness of God He created him; male and female He created them. And God blessed them [ and said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, and fill the earth, and subjugate it; and rule over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, and every living thing that moves upon the earth.” We are supposed to rule everything that God has created. So what’s gone wrong? http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/Sylvia-Billington-Jesus-as-the-restorer-of-the-kingdom-of-God.mp3
Sun, 06 Aug 2023 - 42min - 574 - Denise Griffiths: Jesus the Good Shepherd
Denise continues our series on who Jesus was by looking at how Jesus is our good shepherd. Abraham was a shepherd and the patriarch of the Jewish nation. Moses tended his flock for 40 years before God asked him to go back and rescue his people. King David was a shepherd boy before he was a warrior and a king. Shepherds were the first to see the newborn baby Jesus. In John 10, Jesus says that he is our good shepherd, who lays down his life for the sheep. Denise goes into what that means for us; ultimately that Jesus will take you home to his house, to dwell with him forever. http://jubileechurchwirral.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/Denise-Griffiths-Jesus-the-Good-Shepherd.mp3

Mark reminds us that when God looks at us, he doesn’t just see the sin in us, he sees his son – Jesus. And his son says you’re enough! At the end of the talk, Mark invites anyone who wants to give their lives to Jesus to come forward. If Mark’s message inspires you to give your life to Him, that’s amazing news! Tue, 05 Jul 2022 - 40min - 519 - Sylvia Billington – Have Faith
Sylvia looks at Luke 8: 40-54, the story of how Jairus and how he waited patiently for Jesus to bring his daughter back to life. Jairus came to Jesus, asked Him for help, and trusted that He would give it. Sylvia talks about how we can learn from Jairus, and learn to give Jesus a chance to work not just with us, but with others too. We need to stifle our natural urge to want change immediately and be greedy for Jesus to work just with us.

Sun, 22 May 2022 - 45min - 514 - Dave Frodsham – Whose Rights?
In Whose Rights, Dave Frodsham continues our series on Identity Confirmed through the lens of the gospel, looking at 1 Corinthians 9: 1-14. In our society, those who are paid the most are often entertainers – actors, sports stars and musicians – rather than the people who add most value to our lives and who we need, like doctors and teachers. Paul was a tentmaker, doing hard, manual labour alongside his preaching. Dave looks into why the church pays people to do certain jobs, and the cost of doing what God calls us to do.

In Love Builds Up, Dave Frodsham continues our series on Identity Confirmed through the lens of the gospel, looking at 1 Corinthians 8: 1-13. We must not be a stumbling block for others – we need to do all we can to build each other up and encourage each other.
