Bonhoeffer described the Psalms as "the great school of prayer." Join us as we dive into Psalms for 7 weeks, beginning with Psalm 1.

Vision clarifies our purpose and our direction - hear the vision for New Song Church in 2026.

"The soul of man was made to enjoy God, and nothing else can make it happy” – Henry Scougal, The Life of God in the Soul of Man

It would be natural to think that there is nothing beautiful about the cross. That it only highlights shame and humiliation, demonstrating darkness and defeat. But arguably, the beauty of God is most supremely displayed in the cross of Christ. Nothing more fully reveals the beauty, the glory, the magnificence of Jesus than the cross. The beauty of the cross reveals the glory of God, accomplishes victory over sin and death, and changes how we live.

How do we remain steadfast in the mission of God without becoming distracted, disoriented, or disqualified?

You have a great purpose. God is forming you into the likeness of Jesus to send you out to accomplish His good purposes.

Sunday we started a series in the book of Philippians looking at how we as the church are “the gospel made visible," or as Calvin said, “the theatre of God’s glory.” In particular, this week we looked at the first 11 verses of chapter 1, considering how we as the church abound in love more and more.

This week we talked about our devotion to fellowship, koinonia in the Greek, which is a sharing of resources (time, talent, and treasure), as well as a sharing in participation of life. We are devoted to fellowship in 1) making every effort to maintain unity through recognizing our need for each other, honoring each other, and suffering with others, 2) being radically generous, and 3) operating as family. That love for one another compels people toward Christ.

The early church in Acts was devoted to prayer, praying earnestly to God. May we do the same for our friends, our neighbors, our city, and our world.

This week we looked at the early church's devotion to the Word of God, and how we find fellowship with God in His Word.

In this week, pastor Vernon challenged us to make much of Christ in our worship to compel our faithful witness. Jesus is our banner.
