What happens when a city-bred celebrity stylist and a country raised four-time AFL premiership hero collide? Chaos, chemistry and cultural carnage.
No Utes in the Valet is the fast talking, fashion-meets-footy podcast nobody asked for but everyone will binge.
Elliot Garnaut lives in a world of couture, champagne and chauffeur drop-offs. Isaac Smith, premiership powerhouse and Norm Smith medallist, prefers a stubby, a snag, and the back of a Hilux.
Think Ab Fab meets The Front Bar, served with a side of sibling-like bickering. Proving true friendship can be found in unlikely places.
- 33 - Inside the Melbourne Cup Carnival: CEO Kylie Rogers on Celebs, Fashion & Flemington’s Future
The Melbourne Cup Carnival is changing, and Victoria Racing Club CEO Kylie Rogers is right at the centre of it.
This week, Isaac Smith and Elliot Garnaut sit down with Kylie to go inside the 2026 Melbourne Cup Carnival at Flemington, from the celebrities, fashion and famous Birdcage to world-class racing, live music, food and the evolution of one of Australia’s biggest sporting events.
Kylie reveals how the VRC is balancing more than 160 years of tradition with a new generation of racegoers, including the “festivalisation” of racing, changes to members’ fashion rules and a growing focus on music, dining and entertainment.
They break down all four days of the Melbourne Cup Carnival, including Howden Victoria Derby Day, Lexus Melbourne Cup Day, Crown Oaks Day and TAB Champions Stakes Day, plus what makes each day at Flemington completely different. Kylie also takes Isaac and Elliot behind the scenes of what it’s actually like to run the VRC during Cup Week.
There’s plenty coming in 2026 too, including Robbie Williams performing on Melbourne Cup Day, new food and dining experiences across Flemington, Fashions on the Field and plenty more still to be announced. Kylie also explains why Flemington is becoming about much more than racing, combining sport with fashion, food, wine, entertainment and Melbourne culture.
And, naturally, Elliot wants to know what everyone will be wearing.

Sun, 16 Aug 2026 - 26 - Ibiza, American Politics & Status Symbols
This week’s mini ep is a bit of everything, from what we’ve been watching lately to partying in Ibiza, Australian artists taking over Europe, American politics and the status symbols we’ve officially grown out of.
We chat about a recent George Clooney film that got us thinking about fame, relationships and the lives we build around success, before getting into the very high-production world of Ibiza residencies (and just how much it costs to get through the door).
Plus, we answer a few of your questions: what opinions have changed over the last five years? What would actually surprise you about our day-to-day lives? And which status symbols do we simply not care about anymore?
Spoiler: the reality is a lot more desk work, routine and parking small cars than you might expect.

Sun, 09 Aug 2026 - 25 - Kylie Minogue, Hall Passes and Our Brutal Mid-Year Report Card
Season 2 has already delivered huge guests, viral moments and more chaos than Isaac and Elliot can properly remember, so it is time for the official No Utes in the Valet mid-year report card.
This week, the boys are joined by their friend and behind-the-scenes confidante Lucy for an honest assessment of who is having the better year. Isaac is balancing AFL commentary, family life and a wife who wants another child, while Elliot reflects on breaking his leg, learning patience and discovering who genuinely shows up when life forces you to slow down.
The conversation quickly moves from personal growth to complete nonsense as they debate the biggest sporting moments of 2026, AFL premiership favourites, disastrous house inspections, celebrity hall passes and the most overrated stars of the year.
Elliot names Charlize Theron as his best-dressed celebrity, questions the fashion hype surrounding Zendaya and Law Roach, and gives his verdict on Timothée Chalamet. The group also reveals their celebrity hall passes, discusses the shows apparently improving people’s relationships and hears about Elliot’s new gay book club obsession.
They also review the latest AFL fashion collaborations, discuss the upcoming footy finals and reveal their dream guests for the second half of the season, including NFL personalities and one Australian pop icon.
The episode finishes with Elliot delivering a passionate, slightly desperate and completely unrequested public invitation for Kylie Minogue to join the podcast.

Sun, 02 Aug 2026 - 24 - Influencers Are Cringe, Footy Is Life and Nadia Might Give Birth
Nadia Fairfax joins Isaac and Elliot just four days before her due date for a conversation spanning influencer culture, creativity, elite sport, family and her unexpected obsession with rugby league.
As one of Australia’s original social media personalities, Nadia reflects on helping build an industry before “influencer” was even a recognised job title. She explains why the word has become almost a slur, what separates meaningful creative work from forgettable sponsored content and why individuality will ultimately survive an oversaturated online landscape.
Nadia also opens up about questioning whether she still wants to belong to the industry she helped create, balancing public life with a private family and dealing with the constant arrival of younger and shinier creators.
Beyond the polished posts, Nadia explains the strategy, production and intense work ethic behind her career. From consulting on brand launches and designing collaborations to producing large-scale creative campaigns, she sees herself less as an influencer and more as a one-person publishing house.
The conversation then moves from fashion to football. Nadia shares what it was like growing up as the daughter of Australian rugby icon Russell Fairfax, her own childhood at the Australian Institute of Sport as an elite gymnast and the lessons that professional sport taught her about discipline, confidence and positive self-talk.
She also introduces the all-women NRL tipping competition that has grown from five friends into a fiercely competitive group of Sydney personalities, complete with a major prize pool and marriages apparently strengthened by midweek footy analysis.
It is a chaotic, honest and surprisingly heartfelt conversation about creativity, connection and why sport remains one of the few things capable of bringing everyone together.

Mon, 08 Jun 2026 - 17 - Breaking Comfort Zones | Isaac Smith Walks The Runway
What happens when an AFL premiership player swaps the footy field for the runway at Australian Fashion Week?
Pure chaos Perfection!
This week on No Utes In The Valet, Elliot and Isaac unpack the moment that somehow took over Australian media after Isaac walked for Christian Kimber at Australian Fashion Week.
What started as a joke between mates quickly spiralled into headlines, group chat carnage, and one of the most uncomfortable experiences of Isaac’s life.
From panic backstage with international models, to accidentally eating the entire model breakfast buffet, to trying not to laugh while standing frozen in front of 50 photographers, this episode is absolute gold.
But underneath the chaos is something surprisingly honest. A conversation about masculinity, confidence, stepping outside your comfort zone, and why doing things that scare you can completely change how you see yourself.
This episode includes:
Isaac’s backstage panic before the runwayThe model breakfast buffet disasterFashion Week group chat abuse from former teammatesWhy football culture 10 years ago would never have allowed thisThe unexpected messages Isaac received afterwardsMontana Cox giving runway advice while eating gnocchi on a Sydney bollardWhy confidence actually comes from discomfortThe fighter pilot / mechanic outfit discourseFashion, football, identity, and breaking stereotypesWhy stepping outside your comfort zone changes everythingIt’s fashion. Sun, 24 May 2026 - 16 - “Just Think You’re Hot”: Montana Cox Turns Isaac Smith Into A Runway Model
What happens when an AFL legend accidentally ends up walking Australian Fashion Week?
Absolute chaos.
This week on No Utes in the Valet, Elliot and Isaac are back and things immediately spiral. Elliot is recording fresh off emergency surgery after a mirror literally crushed his ankle at a cocktail party, while Isaac somehow finds himself preparing to walk the runway at Australian Fashion Week forChristian Kimber.
There’s just one problem…
Isaac has absolutely no idea what he’s doing.
After a hilariously awkward first fitting experience involving confusion, panic phone calls, and stripping down “way too quickly”, the boys decide it’s time to call in reinforcements. Enter Australian supermodel Montana Cox.
What follows is one of the funniest conversations the show has had yet:
Montana explains how runway models find their “inner beast”Isaac asks how to get from Australian Fashion Week… to MilanElliot compares Montana to the Chris Scott of modellingThere’s serious debate over cheekbones, pacing, and whether Isaac should embrace “balls blazing” energyAnd somehow… the conversation ends with an unforgettable food poisoning disaster story in South AfricaIt’s sport, fashion, chaos, bowel-related trauma, and elite-level banter all rolled into one episode.

Sun, 10 May 2026 - 15 - Is Isaac Fit for Australian Fashion Week
Can a premiership player become a runway model overnight?
In this episode of No Utes in the Valet, the worlds of footy and fashion collide as Elliot Garnaut and Isaac Smith debate camera angles, Coachella culture and whether one retired AFL star has what it takes to walk at Australian Fashion Week.
From there, the boys move through the week in culture and sport:
Justin Bieber spotted at Coachella wearing star-shaped pimple patches Australia’s sprint stars making headlines at the national championships Why athletes are becoming cultural figures beyond the fieldThen comes the main event: Australian Fashion Week.
Elliot explains why this year’s setting at the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia with Sydney Harbour as the backdrop is a major moment for the industry, before challenging Isaac to do the unthinkable: walk in a show.
What starts as a joke turns serious fast.
After an impromptu hallway catwalk and some surprisingly confident turns, Isaac receives a real-time invitation to attend a fitting for Christian Kimber.
Yes, seriously.
The episode also features a fiery round of Red Flag, Green Flag:
Taking shoes off on planes Double dipping Wearing UGG boots in public Ordering coffee with milk and sugar Photobombing strangersPlus:
Isaac’s review of Nuremberg starring Russell Crowe and Rami Malek Whether Taylor Swift would ever headline an NFL game What modern umpire microphones have changed in the AFL Why some people are built for the runway… and some definitely aren’tIt’s fashion, footy and cultural carnage.

Sun, 26 Apr 2026 - 14 - Why the AFL Wants Kylie Fans, Not Just Footy Fans
What happens when sport stops being just sport?
In this episode of ‘No Utes in the Valet’ we move from AFL headlines to the global business of entertainment, starting with the news that Kylie Minogue is set to perform at the AFL Grand Final.
Is it a smart play to attract new audiences, or proof that sport is becoming more about spectacle than the game itself?
From there the discussion opens up into a bigger idea: leagues like the AFL and NFL are no longer just running competitions, they’re building entertainment ecosystems.
Think:
• Super Bowl halftime shows watched by over 100 million people • Stadiums turning into hospitality precincts with restaurants and DJs • Fashion becoming part of athlete culture • Brands using sport as their biggest marketing platform
The episode explores how American sports have mastered this model, and whether Australian sport is finally catching up.
Along the way the conversation takes a few classic detours including:
• Viral pimple patches and Gen Z skincare • Parenting toys that double as stress relief • A deep YouTube rabbit hole into British royal history • The strange tradition behind the Masters Champions Dinner and the dream menu you’d serve if you won Augusta
It’s part sport, part culture, part chaos.
But underneath the laughs is a serious question:
Is the future of sport actually entertainment?
