Every time someone mentions running a mile, I'm instantly transported back to middle school and the Presidential Physical Fitness Test, otherwise known as the annual event designed to humble kids in front of their classmates.

As Sherri shared her CrossFit mile story, we both agreed that sometimes success isn't about setting a record, it's simply crossing the finish line and living to tell the tale. Honestly, if you finished the mile and made it home afterward, that's a win in my book.

Worry is something we all wrestle with, whether it's about our kids, our future, our finances, or the unknowns of tomorrow. A reminder for all of us is that while Jesus tells us we don't need to carry those burdens, He also isn't shaming us when we do.

Instead, He gently invites us to hand our worries over to Him and trust that He's already holding the future in His hands.

Have you ever been accused of “doing nothing” while relaxing on the couch? Let me just tell you something: my body is currently busy moving trillions of blood cells at incredible speeds, thank you very much.

Of course Sherri has to point out that none of those blood cells are doing the dishes. This is generally the time when it's best to roll over, face the back of the couch, and pretend you're asleep.

I love a good sci-fi question because sometimes the weirdest hypotheticals reveal the most about who we are. Apparently, after a long day of work, we like to unwind by pretending to do... more work.

Maybe that's because work itself isn't the problem. Deep down, we all want to contribute, create, fix, build, organize, and accomplish something that matters. Long before work became stressful or exhausting, it was part of God's good design. We were made with a desire for purpose, and whether we're cleaning a real driveway or a virtual one, something in us comes alive when we can look at a task and say, "I did that." The longing isn't just for rest. It's for meaningful work that reminds us we were made for more than simply passing the time.

Some days I talk about Jesus while barely having the strength to get out of bed. Some days I’m showing up with a smile, and other days—like today—I’m showing in from the middle of the mess of depression, still learning how to breathe and trust God when the weight feels heavy. But maybe that’s exactly where His grace meets us, not after we’ve “fixed” everything, but right in the thick of the struggle. If you’re in that place too, you’re not disqualified. God works beautifully through people who are still in process.

Off the coast of Norway, a friendly “spywhale” has been spotted cozying up to humans, sporting a halter that suggests it may have once been on the payroll of the Russian defense ministry. Brant & Sherri report that this unusually social beluga not only enjoys human company but even lets people boop its nose, which is apparently not standard beluga protocol.

A moose wandering into a movie theater is already wild, but the way this one casually followed the velvet ropes like it was late for its own showtime is next‑level.

Honestly, who among us hasn’t marched straight to the concession stand after a long day, ready to demolish the nearest popcorn bucket without making eye contact. So there’s this Mexican restaurant up in Kent, Ohio, and one Saturday night everything that could go wrong absolutely did. Read the conversation He has with Moses on Sinai, for instance, or with Abraham. The back and forth stuff when people are being genuine is amazing. I don't want to miss that. And I ask Him to please help me know how to pray better. That's something too you can ask Him. I know He wants to know us.
