This week, in a listener-researched and written episode, we head to Omagh in Northern Ireland, as we take a look at the brutal 1998 murder of 17-year-old Sylvia Fleming. On the cusp of adulthood, and with a difficult childhood now behind her, Sylvia thought she had struck gold when she met 26-year-old Stephen Scott. He was charming, handsome and popular. But he had a wicked side and enjoyed putting Sylvia down in front of her friends and family. And behind closed doors, things were much, much worse. He carried out his sadistic sexual fantasies on Sylvia and on the night of 3 April 1998, armed with a syringe full of insulin, he went too far and Sylvia paid with her life. A truly harrowing case... On 29 July in 1981, as the world waited in anticipation for the fairy-tale wedding of Lady Diana Spencer and Prince Charles, the Mehrotra family made their way into central London to join in with the celebrations. But the clock was always ticking on Kim Jong-nam's life and in 2017, as he arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport to fly home to his wife and kids, he was executed in front of dozens of passengers. Kaylea was born with spina bifida and all of the normal things that children often take for granted, such as running around and playing football, were impossible for her. But she was feisty and fiercely independent - determined to make the most of her time on this earth. But that time would be brief. Not because of her condition, but because of her parents' brutal neglect of her.  Kaylea was fed a diet of junk food and by the time she was 16, she had ballooned to 22 stone. Pressure sores covered her body and maggots feasted upon her open wounds... And her parents did nothing. They closed the door on her both metaphorically and physically...
