  • 50 - TOPIC: Chasing Different Dreams As Young People

There's a lot to consider when it comes to chasing different dreams as young people. On the positive side, pursuing our dreams allows us to follow our passions, find personal fulfilment, and create a life that aligns with our values. It allows us to explore our talents, interests, and unique strengths. We have the freedom to choose our path and shape our future.

However, it's also important to acknowledge the potential challenges and cons. Chasing different dreams can sometimes be met with resistance from others who might not understand or support our choices. We may face societal pressures to conform to certain expectations or norms. It can also be a journey of uncertainty, risks, and setbacks. It requires perseverance, resilience, and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances, especially if it warrants a stop in the case of some specific dreams.

However, embracing the pros and cons is part of the growth process. It allows us to learn from our experiences, develop new skills, and discover our true selves. The challenges we face along the way make us stronger and more resilient. It's through these obstacles that we gain valuable life lessons and insights.

So, as young people, it's important to weigh the pros and cons of our dreams and make informed decisions. It's about finding a balance between pursuing our passions and being realistic about the challenges we may encounter, and ultimately, taking certain decisions for survival's sake. By doing so, we can navigate our unique paths, chase our dreams, and ultimately find fulfilment in the journey.

  • 49 - Topic: BRO CODE, GIRL CODE

The Bro and Girl Code are unwritten rules that guide friendships between guys and girls. They cover things like loyalty, respect, and supporting each other. It's all about being there for your friends and treating them with kindness and understanding. It's likened to a guidebook for being a good friend.

In many cases, these codes have produced some unhealthy outcomes that have made some people conclude that these codes are disguised rules to help preserve toxicity and wrong behaviours between friends on the excuse of wanting to maintain the integrity of friendship between folks of the same gender.

In this episode of HEY AFRICA, LET’S TALK (HALT), we look into the pros and cons of these codes and how beneficial the knowledge of these has been to different kinds of relationships, both between the same gender in friendships, and the opposite genders in romantic relationships

  • 46 - Question : Is The Media To Blame?

‘Na Bad News Dey Fly Pass’ is commonly used to justify why negative news seems to get more attention than any other. Many times, it is concluded that the media project is not so pleasant news because the record shows that consumers of this information give more interest and priority to them.

On this episode of HEY, LET’S TALK, we look at who is to blame for this, the consumers who consume this information, or the media who put them out. Should we fault the consumers for this, is there a way their interest can be redirected for good, And if the media is to be faulted for this, is there any feasibility at all where this can be regulated?
