-Most women have a misconception of their body, are not well educated on it, and sometimes are downright lied to about it
-If women are really looking for health then they can’t just look at it from the standpoint of just trying not to die.
-There is no birth control, there is no, SSRI, there is no major medication that is going to help them recover out of it. It's just going to manage their suffering.
-I'm very frustrated with the whole aspect of when it comes to female care that estrogen is a demonized hormone. It's actually the basis for making women who they are.
-If we can start finding things that disrupt your function, we can figure out what's going on with your health and start to restore it.
-The concept that a woman thinks that she is going to be stable through a month is already misleading.
-What you're going to notice is when you start to normalize that function, there's going to be a significant amount of amazing changes in normalcy.
-Women don’t eat enough protein, don’t get enough sleep, and have way too much mental stress.
-Women should be in bed between 9-10 p.m.
-Your body is so brilliant and it's trying to adapt to everything you're doing

Things I wish my mom had known 50 years ago:- Her value is immeasurable. The impact you’re having on the people around you is huge… it IS enough.It’s okay to not use all of your time and effort to try and make others happy.What you have to give is enough.Sometimes you’re doing a little too much.Keep valuing your listening skills and value listening to people.You can do less and it doesn’t mean that you are less.Your mom and dad are proud of you.Calling yourself “stupid” isn’t helpful and it is hurting you.You might have PMDD (which is or causes hormone imbalance) so when you’re having a hard time, try not to be so hard on yourself.
What I’d tell her:
- Keep trusting yourself.Push for those things she really thinks are better her way.Thank you for the hours and hours that you listened to me.You following the Spirit will make a positive difference in your children’s lives and in many other people’s lives.You don’t have to do as much as you do, but you can.You are blessing people’s lives in whatever good you choose to do.

In today's episode, Heidi shares why her February was rough because of PMDD. Along the way and at the end she shares things that helped her (and will help YOU!) deal with tough times regarding PMDD.
Why it was rough:
1. PMDD symptoms hit earlier than expected
2. Period arrived 4 days early
3. More PMDD symptoms after her period
4. Sinus infection
5. Celebrating two birthdays
6. A poor night's sleep
Things that help in tough times:
1. Recognize it could be PMDD symptoms flaring up
2. Write factual things down... I did this. I didn't do this. (Example: I took a shower. I stayed in bed.)
3. Write feelings but don't dwell on the negative or dark.
4. Make conscious choices. If research is needed, only research for a SHORT amount of time. (Example: Heidi looked up if she could take Sudafed while taking fluoxetine.)
5. Keep committments and DON'T add more at this time.
6. Ask for help (Heidi asked her daughter to decorate her son's cake.)
7. Rest

Today, Heidi describes a bit about PMDD as a physical limitation, why it's confusing that it is a physical limitation, and an analogy that helps her when she feels she is not living up to her best self during her hard weeks.This does not go into the physical body and what is happening. Different doctors say different things so it's hard to know what is really happening. The body reacting differently to hormone changes seems the most likely reason for our PMDD active symptoms.

In this episode, you'll hear Heidi describe two specific times her cycle has been thrown off in the past year: one was for a family reunion and the other spending a whole Saturday with friends.
She shares her theory that this happens when one woman spends an extended period of time with a different woman (or group of women) that she hasn't been around recently.
Heid shares her Emergency Plan (E-Mode) for when PMDD symptoms hit at an unexpected time.

Heidi shares a win and explains the timing of her fluoxetine use.
To reduce interference with her sex drive, her doctor (third one to speak with about PMDD) recommended only using it Days 18-28 (for sure) and Days 1-7 (if needed). Her doctor claims this has worked well for many of his patients.She takes it in the morning.When she's taken it in the evening, she woke at 2 a.m. and had a hard time getting back to sleep.

1. Having a fight with a loved one once a month.
2. Having an interaction that leaves you feeling hopelessness, loneliness, that you weren't understood, anger, rage, or that you can't do anything right.
3. Feeling out of control or overwhelmed that leads to sleeping for a long period of time when you are not sleep deprived.
4. When your period comes, all of the memories of your PMDD active symptoms time come to you causing you to think, "I shouldn't be that way." "Why am I so mean?"
