#143 - On the morning of December 19, 1991, the body of thirty-six-year-old Kim Ancona was found in the men's restroom of the Phoenix, Arizona, bar where she worked. Blood at the crime scene matched Kim's blood type, and the police didn't perform semen or DNA tests. Investigators relied on bite marks found on Kim's breast and neckShortly after the murder, the Phoenix police identified their first suspect, Ray Krone. Krone was Kim's friend and became a regular customer at the bar. Phoenix police asked Krone to make a Styrofoam impression of his teeth for comparison. Mon, 08 Aug 2022 - 135 - Replay: Karina Vetrano
#135 - *Replay* Karina Vetrano went missing on August 2, 2016, after leaving the house to jog in Spring Creek Park, New York. A few hours later, her brutally murdered body was discovered along the running path. The NYPD and the Vetrano family are desperate to find the person responsible for murdering the beautiful, intelligent, 30-year-old Karina. Medical examiners recovered a DNA profile underneath Karina's fingernails, her back, and her cell phone. But the DNA profile doesn't lead to an immediate arrest in the case. It took NYPD nearly 6 months, but they finally arrested a suspect in Karina's murder, 20-year-old Brooklyn resident Chanel Lewis. Mon, 01 Aug 2022 - 134 - Santae Tribble
#134 - In July 1978, two middle-aged white men were gunned down in their Washington D.C neighborhood. A few weeks after their murders, two men were arrested in connection with the shootings, 17-year-old Santae Tribble and his friend, 20-year-old Cleveland Wright. Although both men denied involvement in the crimes, Washington D.C. police and prosecutors believed they had enough forensic evidence to secure convictions. Tribble and Wright were convicted in the shootings after hair analysis testimony argued that Tribble's hair was found at one of the crime scenes. But years into their prison sentences, questions began to arise about whether the right people for the murders were behind bars. If forensic science can convict someone, can the same evidence also be used to acquit someone? #120 - In August 2014, a Bali taxi driver parked outside the St. Regis Hotel in Nasu Dua, Bali, noticed a red substance that looked like blood coming out from the trunk of his taxi. When he drove to the police station, police officers opened the trunk and found a bloody suitcase. Inside the suitcase was the body of a dead adult female. She had been badly beaten to death and then stuffed inside a suitcase. Bali police quickly zeroed on a potential suspect. Someone very close to the victim. But they claimed they were innocent. Mon, 04 Apr 2022 - 117 - Koh Tao Murders
#117 - In September 2014, two European backpackers, Hannah Witheridge and David Miller were found murdered on Sairee Beach on Thailand's island of Koh Tao. They had been brutally beaten to death just a few feet away from their hotel rooms. From the beginning, the Thai police had difficulty securing the crime scene. While collecting forensic evidence, tourists and locals were allowed to walk on the beach. A mistake that many forensic experts say jeopardized the entire investigation. Throughout the investigation and criminal trial, the Thai government and police were heavily criticized by human rights organizations, legal experts, and the media. Allegations about police brutality rocked the country's economy that almost solely relies on tourism. #110- In January 2006, 24-year-old Jennifer Kesse disappeared from her condo in Orlando, Florida. Two days after she disappeared, her car was found abandoned in a nearby apartment complex. Security footage installed at the complex captured an individual seen driving and parking Jennifer's car on the day she went missing. Unfortunately, the camera didn't record a continuous video and only captured an image every three seconds. Every three seconds this individual was somehow able to obscure their face behind a face. Although the Fort Worth police and District Attorney's office refused to charge Warren with his wife's death, a Grand Jury indicted Warren on first-degree murders charges.
