Did your high school have a disaster prep class? Mine didn't. I wish it had. This is a story of a high school in California where 1 student decided to take it upon himself to get involved in his local C.E.R.T. training and bring it into his high school for other students. Lab599 has revealed a new Manpack portable QRP radio that they are calling the TX-500MP. This looks similar to their previous TX-500 model, but it is clearly made to drop into a backpack and has all of the ports on the top of the radio for easy access.
