We first met Mark Will when he was 25 years old and that was about 25 years ago. He was a mature young man and seem to have his life, and career together and on the right track.  His hit records at the time included Jacobs Ladder, the # 1 hit “I Do Cherish You” and the song that was climbing the charts at that time in `1998, turned out to be an all time favorite of mine. “Don’t Laugh at Me”

We go back to the fall of 1998 when Joe Diffie not only talked with us about his music, but he shared with us a very personal story about his son Tyler, who was born with Down syndrome and nearly died following complications from a tonsillectomy.  Although best known for his country hits Joe also played and recorded bluegrass and gospel music.

Bill Anderson is a true Country Legend. His fans love him and he loves them. Know as Whispering Bill. He has received awards from the Academy of Country Music, Country Music Association, Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.  

Keith Urban's carrier in the United States was just getting started, when we got together at Emerald Studio in Nashville TN. Sine then, Keith has received four Grammy Awards, and fifteen Academy of Country Music Awards. In 1999 when he released "Your Everything" it made him the first artist born in New Zealand to reach the top 10, on the American Country Music Charts.

Martina McBride came to us from Sharon, Kansas, where Her dad introduced her to country music. In addition to her studio albums she is a tremendous live entertainer. In the summer of 2022, it was announced she would be the opening act for The Judd's Final Tour, however, Naomi Judd died before the tour could begin. Naomi’s daughter, Wynonna, announced at her mother’s memorial service, that she and Martina would honor the tour dates as a tribute to Naomi. We’re bringing back some memories with Martina McBride today on “Ken’s Country” Podcast.

Charlie Daniels, a Carolina boy whose music went around the world. He was a member of the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame and The Country Music Hall of Fame.

Two for the price of one. We visited with country cross over artists Ray Price and Skeeter Davis, back stage at the Grand Ole Opry. It's amazing how different the music of these two country stars sounded, yet their lives still had so much in common. 

Wynonna and her mother Naomi were known as the Judds. In 1991 Chronic hepatitis C forced her mother into retirement and Wynonna began her career as a solo artist. She continued to have success on her own, with songs like, "No One Else on Earth" and "Girls with Guitars" A truly interesting look into who Wynonna is, in her own words. 

He gave us classics like, Kiss an Angel Good Morning, Just Walk on By, Burgers and Fries and Cherry Pies, Chrystal Chandeliers and the list goes on and on. Of course, we are talking about Charlie Pride, today on Ken’s Country Podcast.

International Star Kenny Rogers, who sold more than 100 million records and appeared in numerous movies and TV shows, talks about how important it is for an artist to remain current, even more important than selling records. Included in his big hits were "The Gambler". "Islands in the Stream" and "Coward of the Country" written by Billy Edd Wheeler of Swannanoa , North Carolina.

North Carolina is proud of the many talented artist that have come from the Tar Heel state. One of those is Matt King, an American country singer-songwriter, who was born and raised in Hendersonville, North Carolina. No doubt one of the highlights of his career was when he performed at the Grand Ole Opry in a Johnny Russell tribute, with Earl Scruggs, Roy Clark, Ricky Skaggs, and Vince Gill. Enjoy a few minutes with Matt King. 

The Kinleys are identical twins whose voices also match up perfectly. They recorded the video for their first hit, "Please" on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. The twins share about their time on the beach. You will hear them talk about the wild horses in Corolla and we remind you, that was quite few years ago and your not allowed to approach the horses today, but you can still admire them as the Kinleys did, but at a distance. Marty Stuart is a member of the Grand Ole Opry and Country Music Hall of Fame. Johnny Cash told him about the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He talks about his music and windy time on Hatteras Island. 

Roy Rogers and his wife Dale Evans were the stars of the "Roy Rogers" radio and TV shows. Roy appeared in over 200 movies. He was also a of founder of the Son's of the Pioneers, one of Americas best know western music groups. Roy talks about his time in pictures and teaming up with country star Clint Black for a new album.  At the end of the interview Roy leave you with the song he and Dale closed their programs with, "Happy Trails to You"

Country singer Faith Hill is truly an international star. She is married to another big hit maker, Tim McGraw. During the interview, we were treated to Faith and Tim's daughter Gracie enjoying the studio. Faith talks about her music, family and more.
