- 700 - Cedar Creek fire, clouds and fog
LIVE TODAY, NEW TIME @ 5:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Ballots have been mailed in Oregon and we need to talk about what is on them. I want to go over the statewide measures as well as local races. Dawn Lesley just received a $1000 from recalled City Councilor Claire Syrett, which fits as they both support EmX on River Road. The rain has finally put an end to the evacuations notices and poor air quality but before nature finally did what the USFS should have done in early August the Cedar Creek fire may have been responsible for a multi-vehicle pill up on I-5 the killed two people. We are seeing lawsuits against power companies, where is the one against the USFS for letting this fire burn? Remember that Dawn Lesley is supported by radical environmental groups that push the "let it burn" philosophy. We can also talk about anything else on your mind, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 5:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. You can listen to the show online (just click the picture below) or on your phone by calling 646-721-9887. Thu, 27 Oct 2022 - 1h 00min - 699 - Oregon fires - the real reason behind it
LIVE TODAY, NEW TIME @ 5:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Political pressure by environmental groups like Oregon Wild pushed the USFS into allowing fires to burn like the Cedar Creek fire that started in a single tree. Now we have suffered for months with evacuations, power cutoffs, loss of business, outdoor event cancellations and unhealthy air quality. We need our elected officials to push back with the USFS to prevent this kind of avoidable tragedy. That means we should not vote for candidates like Dawn Lesley that are supported by Oregon Wild. I also want to follow up on the Hwy 126 safety meeting, baseball vs. indoor track, Prescription vegetables and exactly what is a right vs. a need. We can also talk about anything else on your mind, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 5:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Thu, 13 Oct 2022 - 1h 01min - 698 - Power Shutoffs, Tax Increases, stadiums and EmX
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! A weekend of power shut offs and evacuations that could all have been avoided if only the US Forest Service put out the single tree fire that became the Cedar Creek Fire. I am really angry about this as it is just the latest example in a string of large fires that could have been stopped early, some that took lives and homes. Tax increases and stadiums were on our agenda again this week. More votes have been counted in the recall of Claire Syrett and the yes to recall side has expanded their lead. It seems EmX for River Road is pretty unpopular. BTW, Claire Syrett contributed to Dawn Lesley's campaign for Commissioner and Dawn contributed to Claire. When it comes to EmX, Dawn=Claire. Speaking of street design, Common Sense for Springfield is kicking off their "Protect Main Street '' effort at redesigning the misguided roundabout plans next Monday evening at Along Came Trudy's, RSVP required. It seems that mass timber construction is being embraced by climate activists yet their policies are leading us into a wood shortage and larger, more frequent forest fires. Wed, 14 Sep 2022 - 1h 00min - 697 - Recall
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Recalled! It appears that Eugene City Councilor Claire Syrett has been recalled by the voters of her ward over her support for the "Moving Ahead" program that would take lanes away from River Road for an EmX bus route. Dawn Lesley has spoken in support of Moving Ahead in the past and wants to represent Santa Clara on the County Commission. This is a pretty big thing as recalls are rarely successful. The voters are not happy about EmX on River Road. The Board will also be considering raising the Transient Room Tax paid by hotels and other lodging to support a multi-use stadium at the fairgrounds that would be home for the Eugene Ems baseball team. What are your thoughts on using a lodging tax for a stadium? It is also high fire season again as we get ready to acknowledge the second anniversary of the Holiday Farm Fire. I want to explain what federal law says about accepting FEMA funds that is why the lawsuit over liability for causing the fire. Meanwhile California is mandating electric vehicles and just a couple of days later asking folks not to charge them during certain times of the day due to power shortages... Wed, 07 Sep 2022 - 1h 01min - 696 - Ems Stadium and Hwy 126
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! The Board took the biggest step so far towards a possible multi-use stadium facility that could be the new home for the Eugene Ems at the fairgrounds. We directed staff to prepare the ordinances needed to increase our transient room tax (TRT) and the car rental tax (CRT) as a mechanism for financing the project. We will have to hold a public hearing on the increases in September but we are hoping to finance the stadium without using local property taxes. TRT and CRT are generally paid by tourist and visitors to Lane County not residents. Still more check points before it is a done deal like getting a design/build team on board and getting final costing, etc. We also will be studying a multi-use indoor facility that could be used for indoor track and other indoor sports tournaments. In the meantime, we asked LTD to come present to the Board about Moving Ahead. That should be an interesting conversation. I also am working on getting a public meeting set-up in Veneta for ODOT to talk about the proposed Hwy 126 project from Eugene to Veneta and other safety issues. We still are short prosecutors in the DA's office but you can vote yourself higher taxes for parks in November! There is also the Orwellian named Inflation Reduction Act that will not reduce inflation and student loan relief for rich people that the poor will pay for in higher grocery prices. We can also talk about anything else on your mind, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 24 Aug 2022 - 1h 01min - 695 - A lots happening...
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! New taxes for Lane County will be on the ballot in November. No, not to hire more deputy DA's so we prosecute all felonies. This tax will go to repair and upgrade parks. Once again I was the lone vote against this as I feel we are letting our State legislators and Congress critters off the hook for their lack of support and asking locals to make up the difference for a non-critical function. If I am going to ask senior citizens to increase their property taxes then it is going to be to support a critical function that is a life safety issue like keeping criminals off the street. We also heard one of the best reports on our homeless efforts since I have been a Commissioner. A very clear road map of the current system and how we are working to improve it as well as a report on the outcomes from existing programs. It was interesting that a program that included navigation (case management) had a 69% success rate in clients exiting to permanent housing where a "safe sleeps" program only had a 7% exit to housing rate. Now we need to under the cost of these programs per client served to determine where we should be investing. Even if the first program mentioned is three times more expensive per client we would move 3 times more people into permanent housing for the same amount of your tax dollars. Oh, and COVID is still around at high transmission rates. We can also talk about anything else on your mind, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 10 Aug 2022 - 1h 00min - 694 - "no filing" certain low level non-violent felonies and misdemeanors
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Due to loss of personnel, the District Attorney will not be filing charges in non-violent felonies and misdemeanors. I want people to understand how the is really due to the failures of the state legislature and congress to adequately fund the counties in Oregon for the services they perform on their behalf. Our progressive majority is blatantly trying to lock in appointed positions beyond the first of the year knowing they are about to lose the majority. The board was updated on our affordable housing plan which is leaning to heavily on government built housing. I believe government housing is NOT affordable housing. Government housing is subsidized housing. Next week we are holding a public hearing to get input from the public about placing a new property tax for parks on the ballot in November. We need to hear from everyone and not just park advocates. We can also talk about anything else on your mind, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 03 Aug 2022 - 1h 00min - 693 - Oregon 22, indoor masking and heat wave
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! It's National Scotch Day! No Board meeting this week so no new Board items to talk about but lots of other issues. The City of Springfield is going to challenge the state on new land use laws being implemented by executive order rather than legislated. A disturbing trend both in Washington DC and Salem is to ignore the separation of powers and just do things from the executive office. Unfortunately with Oregon's system of appointing judges, our state judiciary, which should correct this, is beholding to the the current Governor for their jobs. I am attending the grand opening of our new Parole and Probation facilities at Roosevelt and 99 today, it is sad that if we can't convince the legislature to take action we may be laying off or leaving positions unfilled in this division. The Worlds wrapped up with great showing by Team USA but a pathetic showing in attendance. The Lane County Fair also wrapped up but not without some controversy also. Why do heat waves make so much news today versus the ones I remember from the mid 1990's that were hitting 105 not this weeks 100? Wed, 27 Jul 2022 - 58min - 692 - A lot going on in Lane County
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! The World's are here and after telling us for weeks to avoid downtown due to expected traffic and that there may be long waits in restaurants due to lack of staff to handle the extra business, now they are telling folks to come eat in town because the restaurants are not busy. I also warned the Board about asking voters to increase their taxes for parks before we ask them to continue paying higher property taxes for public safety. As the rest of the Board pushed ahead with the Parks Levy we received notice from our District Attorney that she has lost senior staff to Oregon DOJ and has had no applications for several openings. The result may be going back to "no files" on some felonies due to lack of prosecution resources. The Board also is supporting EV's despite our crumbling electric grid and the carbon footprint of battery production. They also continued the process of letting Homes for Good move to little elected official direct oversight despite $58 million annual public revenues being spent. We can also talk about anything else on your mind, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 20 Jul 2022 - 1h 00min - 691 - Magic mushrooms and monkey pox
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! The Board got to talk about psilocybin and Measure 109 implementation. We also got an update on communicable disease prior to hosting the world for the next couple of weeks. So we talk about magic mushrooms and monkey pox! I got to cut a ribbon on some new cabins at Harbor Vista Park in Florence today. Speaking of Parks the Board will be talking about the possible levy at next week's meeting. We got word that the arbitrage bonding I voted against sold at 4.43%, gambling $286 million of your tax dollars that we can beat that interest rate by investing the money in the PERS fund with the state. Oh, and "Kalapuya County" is being proposed again for Lane County...imagine just how many signs, vehicles and uniforms we would have to change. Wed, 13 Jul 2022 - 1h 00min - 690 - Independence Day & taxation without representation (as usual)
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! I survived COVID and Alaska. Now I have to remember what we was going on prior to all that. I do know that Independence Day came and went without the City of Eugene granting me the right to vote in their elections even though they are taxing my paychecks. Speaking of rights, is anyone else at all bothered by the concept of placing equity above equality? I seem to be the only Board member concerned about it. We continue to move slowly towards making a decision on a multi-use facility at the fairgrounds that would also be home to the Ems. While I was gone the Board adopted our budget and continued towards a possible property tax levy to support county parks. I seem to be the only person concerned about asking for higher taxes in November knowing we have to renew the public safety levy in May of 2023. We can also talk about anything else on your mind, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 06 Jul 2022 - 49min - 689 - It's Back....
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! F-2 property owners need to listen today as I need your help in convincing our progressive board members that your property rights are important. We also spent a lot of time talking about homelessness but the progressives don't seem to want to help F-2 property owners build new homes. Lane County is going to spend $28 million over the next year on homeless initiatives and at least we seem to be holding steady with some of the numbers. We are going to hold a panel discussion open to the public on our proposal for a 42-bed stabilization center for those experiencing a mental health crisis. Gas prices set a record every day for the last week. Masking was brought back "voluntarily' last week only to have the COVID case numbers fall since then. Wed, 08 Jun 2022 - 1h 00min - 688 - Sometimes there is good news
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Some good news, no Board meeting this week so you are safe from any new county laws, the City of Eugene and Oregon 2022 decided to maintain access to our facilities on MLK Blvd during the marathons and run walks, and I celebrated 40-years of marriage since the last show. But I want to talk about our criminal justice system and a crisis quietly brewing in Oregon. Most people aren't aware of the work our parole officers do and how we work as a system in Lane and other counties to divert people from prison saving millions in public money every year. Unfortunately, COVID shut downs, staffing and funding issues are combining to bring this system into crisis and most Oregonians aren't completely unaware. The results will make us less safe, waste human potential and cost us more in the long run. I hope by bringing this more public we can influence the legislature to prevent the coming crisis. Wed, 01 Jun 2022 - 1h 00min - 687 - Got an extra $1000 laying around?
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! The Board held our first in-person meeting in over two years! The meeting had plenty to talk about. Sexually transmitted infection are rising in Lane County. We continue to explore a multi-use stadium facility at the Fairgounds with the Em's as an anchor tenant. Our patrol deputies are getting body cams. The contract to run the 75 bed homeless shelter and navigation center was approved. The Board approved gambling your tax dollars on the market using arbitrage over my objection. And the folks with the Oregon 22 World games want the County to front $300,000 to build a temporary gravel access road to our Serbu campus on MLK Blvd because they want to have the marathon and other races start and finish in front of Autzen stadium. OR 22 received $40 million in support from the legislature and an individual day pass ticket can cost $1,000. Not to mention what the networks are paying for broadcast rights. Why should their desire to close a road down cause taxpayers in Florence or Oakridge to foot the bill to provide access to facilities that serve the most vulnerable in our community and operate 24/7? Wed, 25 May 2022 - 1h 03min - 686 - may 17th primary
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Election day? Now that postmarks are being excepted on ballots it is no longer election "day" in Oregon, it has become election week. This was one of the worst election rules in Oregon on top of many others that will cause more people to doubt the integrity of the election process and ultimately the results. Speaking of results, it is looking like we will see a new board majority here in Lane County next year. It seems like people are finally waking up to what LTD and the City of Eugene are planning under the "Moving Ahead" project at the same time activist are starting a drumbeat to stop the widening of Beltline over the Willamette River and Hwy 126 between Eugene and Veneta, all because "cars bad!" After years of bad-mouthing and trying to limit short-term rentals, they are asking folks to please open their homes for the World Track championships due to the shortage of hotels. Are any of you planning on making a few extra $'s? We can also talk about anything else on your mind, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 18 May 2022 - 1h 00min - 685 - David Loveall for Springfield County Commissioner
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! My guest will be David Loveall and we are going to have a conversation about integrity and character. Joe Berney in his re-election attempt is showing his lack of integrity and character. Lying outright about his vote in favor of raising commissioner's pay that is already more than $95,000/year. Spreading undocumented rumors about David. Meanwhile not addressing how he was paid over $80,000 by Lane County as a consultant a few years back and delivered nothing according to an audit made public recently. Heather Buch is also out there claiming she is the queen of housing and helping fire victims when she knowingly voted for new zoning code that made it harder for fire victims and others to build dwellings. She waited 7 months to waive permit fees when other counties took less than 7 weeks to do the same. She also delayed implementation of HB 2289 that made it easier for fire victims to rebuild. Meanwhile, Dawn Lesley lost her leadership position on the budget committee due in part to her lying about voting as a budget committee member in favor of the same pay raise Joe is lying about. Don't get me started about Heather and Joe's paid political consultant drawing redistricting maps or using closed door meetings to decide on vaccine mandates for our employees. We need to expect more from our elected officials and David will talk about his personal ethics and belief in integrity. We can also talk about anything else on your mind, just give us a call! Wed, 11 May 2022 - 52min - 684 - Ministry of Truth and protecting your property rights
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Yesterday, I tried to get my fellow commissioners to start a process to protect the property rights of folks that own F-2 zoned land. Heather Buch, Joe Berney and Laurie Trieger all refused to support my efforts to make it easier to build a home. The week before they refused to support my efforts to allow people in F-2 lands to rebuild their homes after it burned down. Heather Buch is running TV ads claiming she is all about housing, really? This is the same person who voted for new floodplain regulations that restrict the ability to build homes. The new Ministry of Truth (Disinformation Governance Board) being formed should bring visions of Orwellian dystopia where history and news are re-written and questioning the revisions is a crime. There is also the leaked draft decision from the Supreme Court making the news, which of course meant riots in Portland again. We can also talk about anything else on your mind, just give us a call! Wed, 04 May 2022 - 1h 01min - 683 - Juneteenth, Parks Maintenance, mental health and jail beds
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Back to our regular time and so much to talk about. The Board voted to give our employees Juneteenth off as a paid holiday. A new strategic plan was approved over my objections. We also got more bad news about the state of our parks and the backlog of deferred maintenance. The question I have for you is fixing potholes at a park more important than maintaining our jail beds or funding mental health services? I also got a little hot under the collar yesterday because our staff has re-interpreted a 30-year old zoning statute and is telling folks they may not be able to replace a home that was lost due to a house fire in F-2 zoned property. LIVE WEDNESDAY @ 4:30 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! SPECIAL TIME TODAY @ 4:30 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Due to schedule conflicts we will be starting the show late and it will only be 30 minutes so we need to talk fast! Springfield pressed pause on the Main Street roundabouts. Elon Musk is trying to buy Twitter to remove censorship. Meanwhile, Facebook is preventing me from talking to a wider audience about the Commissioner's pay raise issues because they deem factual, verifiable data and actions as "misleading claims". Natural gas bans are still being discussed despite the risk to the stability of our electric grid. Even the Multnomah County Sheriff is starting to take notice of the rising crime problems while protestors once again take to the streets of Portland to bash the police. Wed, 20 Apr 2022 - 30min - 681 - It's a Gas (or not!)
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Eugene is considering a natural gas ban and my fellow Commissioners approved a "Climate Action Plan" pushing for electrification over natural gas despite information showing that it will probably lead to an actual increase in carbon footprint and the destabilization of the electric grid. Continuing the topic of gas, our President thinks that using food for fuel will bring down inflation. We also got an update on the Holiday Farm fire recovery and we are still behind other counties in issuing permits and the number of homes destroyed has gone up due to better survey work. The Board also expanded the use of the Community Benefits bidding program against my wishes. This program is costing taxpayers more for our construction projects that could be used for other purposes like law enforcement. Speaking of law enforcement, I also want to discuss Highway 126 and the recent fatalities. We can also talk about anything else on your mind, just give us a call! Wed, 13 Apr 2022 - 1h 10min - 680 - Lane County Commissioners earn $140,000 a year
LIVE WEDNESDAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Lane County Commissioners earn $140,000 a year in pay and benefits. Dawn Lesley, Joe Berney and Heather Buch all voted to give them a raise. I will go over just how we are well compensated and how ridiculous and self-serving it is to think we need more. We will also talk about arbitrage and how our Board is considering gambling with taxpayer’s money. We can also talk about elected versus appointed Boards overseeing tax money and also mixing the missions of federal agencies and using Medicaid money for housing. The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. You can listen to the show online (just click the picture below) or on your phone by calling 646-721-9887. Wed, 06 Apr 2022 - 1h 00min - 679 - Victoria Doyle running for Springfield City Council
LIVE WEDNESDAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! My Guest will be Victoria Doyle who is running for Springfield City Council Ward 5. We will find out who Vicky is and why she wants to serve the people of Springfield. We also just might have a conversation about round-a-bouts and Main Street. If we go off-topic and start talking about dogs then you will have to understand we both have a few and like each other's dog posts on Facebook. We can also talk about Dawn, Heather, and Joe voting to increase the pay for Lane County Commissioners that already make well over $100,000 in salary and benefits. Hopefully by Wednesday people will stop talking about a live broadcast of an assault on a millionaire by another millionaire. I predict that their lawyers will get rich in the aftermath. We can also talk about anything else on your mind, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 30 Mar 2022 - 1h 01min - 678 - Is it okay to appoint a known liar to a public office?
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Dawn Lesley lied, Heather Buch and Joe Berney still voted to put her on the budget committee. Heather and Joe had an opportunity to reconsider appointing a known liar to our budget committee yesterday, but they refused. It is bad enough to have someone who lied about her vote to raise Commissioner's pay as a budget committee member return to the budget committee but how about having Lane County Commissioners like Joe and Heather that are okay appointing someone without integrity? What else are they okay to just let go? (By the way, Heather and Joe also voted for that pay increase.) Eugene is "moving ahead" with making our roads more congested and the liberal elites think the answer to high gas prices is for the working poor to buy a $60,000 electric vehicle. So much to talk about, so little time. We can also talk about anything else on your mind, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 16 Mar 2022 - 1h 00min - 677 - What does Gas prices, Putin and local politicians have in common?
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Dawn Lesley lied, Heather Buch and Joe Berney still voted to put her on the budget committee. With gas prices going crazy and Putin's imperialism killing Ukrainians, why does the integrity of local politicians matter? President Biden began his political career as a County Commissioner in Delaware. His political party ignored blatant plagiarism, unwanted touching, and his family members questionable business dealings with countries that are national security risks because it was all about moving the agenda ahead and damn integrity. Who knows what the former head of the KGB might have over someone with that kind of character? So, the fact that Dawn Lesley would outright lie about a vote she took as a budget committee member and that Heather Buch and Joe Berney would ignore that and still re-appoint her to the same budget committee is that same political calculus that puts party and agenda before integrity. It leads to elected officials claiming success by meaningless virtue signaling resolutions while our downtowns become street fights and dumpster fires and the streets have car killing potholes. I'll play the audio of Dawn lying for everyone to hear during the show. We can also talk about anything else on you mind, just give us a call! Thu, 10 Mar 2022 - 1h 00min - 676 - Gas Prices and (un)State of the Union Address
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Wow, what a week! Sooo much to talk about that happened since the last show. Russia invaded Ukraine. The President muddled through reading a State of the Union speech and expressed some desired outcomes that the policies he proposed to get them will do the exact opposite. Like his desire for more manufacturing in the US while proposing to increase corporate tax rates. The legislature wants legal working residents to foot the bill for lawyers for illegal aliens charged with felonies to help keep them from being deported. Gas prices are going up and Pacific Power just put in for an almost 10% rate increase while the local greenies are pushing to ban natural gas. After voting to recommend pay increases for the Commissioners, both Dawn Lesley and Joe Berney deny supporting pay increases for Commissioners. Do they not know the vote was streamed video that is available to the public to watch anytime? We can also talk about anything else on you mind, just give us a call!
Thu, 03 Mar 2022 - 59min - 675 - Ryan Ceniga running to be the West lane County Commissioner is our guest today
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! I will begin the show with Ryan Ceniga. Ryan has a couple of stories to share about his "visit" to Mapleton and his work to solve a problem for Junction City schools. Ryan may be running to be the West lane County Commissioner but in the meantime, he is helping the residents of Mapleton to have safe drinking water and providing new field lighting for athletes in JC at no charge to the taxpayers. In other news I was happy to see that the Joe Berney campaign and the Lane County Tribune decided to be transparent and report the in-kind contributions that were going on. The legislature is in session and Ukraine and Russia are bringing instability to world energy markets and threatening a wider conflict. Thu, 24 Feb 2022 - 1h 01min - 674 - Former Lane Commissioner files complaint against fake news
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! KPNW broke a news story this morning about a potential campaign finance violation involving Joe Berney, Dawn Lesley, and the Lane County Tribune Facebook news site. COVID is still in the news and the Omicron surge is ending. the Washington legislature wants to tax Oregonians another 6 cents a gallon for any fuel exported from Washing to Oregon. Meanwhile, the Oregon legislature is pushing forward with SB 1568 that would have and unelected and unaccountable board releasing criminals into our communities that would be appointed solely by the Governor. This is on top of SB 1510 that would ban police from stopping cars with a light out, which is how Timothy McVey, the Oklahoma City bomber, was captured. Thu, 17 Feb 2022 - 1h 01min - 673 - Proposed 3% Oregon sales tax is just one of many
Be It Enacted by the People of the State of Oregon: SECTION 1. (1) The Oregon Freedom Pilot Program is established in the Department of Human Services. The purpose of the program is to assist low-income Oregonians to live in dignity by providing monthly payments of $750, using a special debit card, to adults participating in the program. (5) Payments from the Oregon Freedom Pilot Program do not count as income for any state-funded need-based benefits or assistance. News services are saying that "The money collected would be given out to low-income pregnant women and adults who have aged out of the foster youth program." this if false and according to HB 4079 does not mention pregnant women. "Relating to programs to aid low-income adults" "The $750 would come on a debit card and there are no restrictions on what that money can be spent on." UPDATE: 02/08/2022 Great news from Salem today. HB 4079, Oregon's first sales tax, will not move forward and is effectively dead. Due to strong opposition Chair Anna Williams (D-Hood River) suddenly took the bill off the agenda just hours prior to the 1:00pm hearing time. https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/ORLEG/bulletins/309c49c?fbclid=IwAR3VGOcH1ctyC4PpoYuPUTO1m4v1J_ZNyKjueS3i1c2y1QjMptf-24u_qBQ More information here https://olis.oregonlegislature.gov/liz/2022R1/Downloads/MeasureDocument/HB4079/Introduced a list of other taxes in Oregon here https://www.oregon.gov/dor/programs/businesses/Pages/Vehicle-privilege-and-use-taxes.aspx You can find previous shows easily by searching for "ITunes KRBN", Player.FM, Amazon audible Apple, podcast, player.FM, iTunes, Vurbl and Facebook videos at http://facebook.com/krbnradio/live
Thu, 10 Feb 2022 - 59min - 672 - Mask mandates and more
IVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Thanks to the efforts of the Association of O&C Counties, Lane County is going to add 8 people to our police services division of the Sheriff. This will make it so we can have one more deputy on duty for a total of four to cover a county of over 4,000 square miles. the Board also talked about funding for parks and is eyeing a property tax levy. I am more concerned about renewing the Jail Levy and having a deeper discussion of what we want to ask the taxpayers to fund rather than push for sustained yield harvest of the O&C lands. OHA is moving ahead with a permanent mask mandate for school kids despite all public testimony going against the rule and scientific evidence that masking kids is ineffective, unsafe, and doing long-term emotional harm. Meanwhile, the legislature is back in session and is looking to make it illegal for a cop to stop someone for a broken tail light. Thu, 03 Feb 2022 - 59min - 671 - Should Lane County Commissioners Get a Raise?
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Our Board at least delayed our Climate Action Plan Phase two for a month or so, the plan includes limiting your choice on how you heat your home or cook because natural gas BAD! Dawn Lesley, the progressive New England transplant with a Eugene zip code that wants to be the rural West Lane Commissioner also supports limiting your choice of how you heat your home. The budget committee's recent attempt to recommend raises for Commissioners is getting statewide notice, an attempt Joe Berney, Heather Buch, and Dawn Lesley all voted in favor of doing. The state is now requiring poor rural citizens to pay for charging stations for rich Portland Tesla owners as an increase in their electric bills. The legislature is also proposing voting rights for convicted felons while still in prison. Meanwhile, the Board received testimony and documented evidence that our current voter registration roles may not be accurate. An initiative was also filed to increase the corporate tax rate by 3% just to send $750 checks to all Oregonians. The 1% Corporate Activities Tax drove Bi-mart to close pharmacies and we wonder why Intel is investing $20 billion in their Ohio facility rather than Oregon. Thu, 27 Jan 2022 - 1h 00min - 670 - More news about Lane County
The Boze Noze Show Hosted by West Lane County Commissioner Jay Bozievich is live at every 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! No guest today and I am done with my year in review so let's talk about other things. Our Board will be considering our Climate Action Plan Phase two next week that includes supporting limiting your choice on how you heat your home or cook because natural gas BAD! Oh and the plan fails to take into account the Governors new Climate Protection Plan. The Lane Area Commission on Transportation heard a presentation on the plans to improve the safety of HWY 126 from Eugene to Veneta and the usual Eugene centric anti-car/climate activist are upset it widens the road. Robin is upset it plans for traffic circles. The budget committee also heard from our elected officials compensation board and Joe Berney, Heather Buch and Dawn Lesley all voted to provide a recommendation to give the Commissioners a raise, fortunately it failed to get the required votes. Thu, 13 Jan 2022 - 1h 03min - 668 - After New Years Show
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! OMG Omicron! While some are running around like their hair is on fire, we finally get admissions from Dr. Fauci and OHA Director Patrick Allen that they have been counting people who entered the hospital for other reasons but then test positive for COVID as COVID patients. I will also try to finish my year in review as I only barely got to August last week, which means we still have closed door meetings on vaccine mandates, a failed attempt to fire an excellent County Counsel, and a redistricting debacle that came up again yesterday yet to review. Thu, 06 Jan 2022 - 1h 08min - 667 - end of the year show
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! The year in review seems to come around faster. It has been another crazy COVID year from vaccine roll outs and shortages to mandates and self declared six month emergency extensions. A legislative session where the public was barred from the building to redistricting shenanigans at all levels. There are still over 100 people living in hotels that lost their housing in the Holiday Farm Fire back in 2020. Congress continued to spend money in the trillions and guess what, inflation hit record levels! Thu, 30 Dec 2021 - 1h 01min - 666 - "I will not seek re-election...."
LIVE TODAY! @ a 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! So, I made a little announcement yesterday that I will expand on a bit. Meanwhile, Gov. Karen returned from her maskless appearance at an indoor fundraising event to Oregon and stepped outside, saw Omicron's shadow, and declared six more months of emergency! Locally, our progressive Board leadership/majority can't read our Home Rule Charter and/or count backwards six months so we will have one more year of reasonable Commissioner districts before the gerrymandered version goes into effect. Can you say "redistricting fail?" We can also talk about what you want to talk about, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Thu, 16 Dec 2021 - 1h 02min - 664 - Mask mandates permanent?
LIVE TODAY! @ a 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! On Delta, on Lambda and Mu, now Omicron mask away, mask away all! As Oregon is writing permanent indoor mask mandates, Governor Karen was photographed maskless hugging and talking to people at an indoor fundraising event. I have supported masks as one layer in a multilayered approach to reducing transmissions but with the high vaccination and natural immunity rates do we really still need a mandate? Now that the Board has ignored public input and gerrymandered our Commissioner districts they are moving on to trying to raise your energy and food bills in phase two of the Climate Action Plan. the Board did get an exciting presentation on the possibility of building a mixed waste recycling facility at the Short Mountain landfill. This is an idea I can agree with environmentalist on because it makes good sense and does not need a government subsidy as it pays for itself over time with the value of recovered materials. LIVE TODAY! @ a 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Redistricting is happening now in Lane County and you can weigh in at the virtual public hearing after the show @ 5:30. A paid political consultant was involved in preparing 2 of the 3 maps we are considering. Meanwhile the progressives on our Board cost the taxpayers an extra $150,000 to keep our head attorney around for another year. I will tell you how that same paid political consultant was also wrapped up in that debacle. In addition, the progressives tried to hide this debacle from the public. There is lots more in the news to talk about like digital vaccine passports. We can talk about what you want to talk about, just give us a call! Thu, 02 Dec 2021 - 1h 01min - 662 - Where's the science?
LIVE TODAY! @ a 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I am grateful for many things. Gratitude and forgiving are two of the most powerful mental activities we can practice. With all the division and angst in society, we could all use practice in both including myself. So, I will let you know what makes me thankful, like not wearing a mask outdoors. Give me a call and let me know what you are thankful about this year. (oh, and there was a lot in the news to talk about if that is what you want to call about also.) The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Thu, 25 Nov 2021 - 1h 00min - 661 - Crime and Happy Exploding Whale Day
LIVE TODAY! @ a 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Mapleton Schools remained closed while the community is drinking bottled water yet the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill will do little to fix the issues that led up to the emergency. The $100,000 bike theft here in Eugene is a microcosm of what is driving tourism away from Portland. Eugene did get $19 million to add more crazy eights to Franklin Blvd. So Governor, when can we take the masks off in Oregon? Redistricting, exploding whales and more to talk about. Thu, 18 Nov 2021 - 1h 00min - 660 - The fall out from vaccination mandates including fines upwards to $14,000
LIVE TODAY! @ a special time of 4:30 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! A delayed and shortened show due to other Commissioner work but still important local issues to discuss. Redistricting is moving to the Board level with two public hearings coming up and written testimony being taken right now. The Brandon administration released "temporary emergency rules" for a federal vaccine mandate on private business and our county employee mandate becomes effective on November 30th. All this despite evidence and studies that say we are reaching herd immunity without them. We can also talk about what ever you want to talk about, just give us a call! Thu, 11 Nov 2021 - 32min - 659 - Strategic plan and venereal disease
LIVE TODAY! @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Lane County is updating our strategic plan and the public can weigh in on our future priorities now. I'll provide some details on how you can do that. Speaking of public input, the final three redistricting maps are coming to the Board and you can also provide written and oral testimony about which one you want adopted. Two of the three were developed by a paid political consultant to Joe Berney and Heather Buch, who are both up for re-election. The Board also received our semi-annual report form our public health department which focused on the increasing rates of sexually transmitted diseases in the county. The rise in STD's began in 2008, what else happened around then? We can also talk about what ever you want to talk about, just give us a call! Wed, 03 Nov 2021 - 1h 01min - 658 - What's scarier on Halloween than kids going to your house?
LIVE TODAY! @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Redistricting is upon us and the first draft maps were released for public comment by our "Independent" Redistricting Committee. It turns out one of the members who has been producing multiple maps for the committee was also the political consultant for two Commissioners up for re-election, Joe Berney and Heather Buch. Bi-mart is closing pharmacies due to Oregon's taxes and now a survey of accountants shows that more than 85% have individual clients considering leaving Oregon due to the tax burden and 80% reported having a business client looking to leave the state. OHSU is predicting herd immunity in December counting natural immunity making up 24%, why is natural immunity ignored for meeting vaccine mandates? Meanwhile I had to make a public records request to my own County to get the minority percentage of those that did not comply with the mandate and were either terminated or applied for an exception. Our Progressive majority followed the orders of their environmentalist handlers and rejected an application for needed aggregate resources on a technicality. An analysis I did personally shows that we are issuing massive contracts amounts to a local non-profit with little competitive bidding and accountability. We can also talk about what ever you want to talk about, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 27 Oct 2021 - 1h 01min - 657 - Vaccine mandates took effect October 18
LIVE TODAY! @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Mandate Monday has come and gone and the biggest news is that the state government once again leaks sensitive personal information from their databases. This time it was a complete listing of vaccination status of Oregon employees covered under the Monday deadline. At the same time, information on Lane County employee vaccine status by demographic group that was promised last week was withheld due to the sensitive nature and other reasons. Meanwhile the Board had a presentation on how we are using an "equity lens" at the county. Hold on to your wallets because we also had a presentation on funding for our parks system and they want to add to your property tax bill. This is on top of the proposed storm water fees that public works presented about a month ago. We can also talk about what ever you want to talk about, just give us a call! Wed, 20 Oct 2021 - 1h 00min - 656 - David Loveall Candidacy for County Commissioner
LIVE TODAY! @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! My guest will be David Loveall. David just announced his candidacy for County Commissioner for the Springfield seat. I have known David since 1994 but I want to give the Boze Noze audience a chance to get to know David as I do. As a compassionate person that cares deeply about his community. David is also innovative and I will let him tell you how that has changed downtown Springfield. In addition, we might just talk about vaccine equity, employee mandates and structural racism. If you want to ask David a question or talk about what ever you want to talk about, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 13 Oct 2021 - 1h 01min - 654 - Who will suffer the greatest employment losses under the mandate(s)?
LIVE TODAY! @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! The state released vaccination data by race by county and it becomes obvious that vaccine mandates will have greater impact on minorities, yet we hear crickets from the social justice warriors on this subject. The Eugene Weekly weighed in on my vote against Indigenous People's Day and scoffed at the science I referenced. Meanwhile the senate confirmed a former terrorist to be the head of the Bureau of Land Management while our Attorney General is threatening to label parents as terrorist for protesting COVID mandates and Critical Race Theory in the classrooms of the children. You should also be looking for hidden agendas when it comes to the Facebook hearings in Congress, it is another attempt to silence speech that does not follow the party line. Wed, 06 Oct 2021 - 1h 00min - 653 - COVID-19, Board of Commissioners meeting, and more
LIVE TODAY! @ 5:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! A special time this week due to the scheduling of another closed door meeting of the Board at our normal broadcast time. We saw some more hidden agendas come out last week but this week we approved usurping one holiday with another. COVID is still in the local and national news. So is Gerrymandering, I mean redistricting at the state level. We can also talk about what ever you want to talk about, just give us a call! Fri, 01 Oct 2021 - 1h 01min - 652 - Vaccine mandates and closed door meetings
LIVE TODAY! @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! The Board agreed on a 3-2 to be more transparent and release the recordings of two closed door meetings where the Commissioners discussed options for employee vaccine mandates and ultimately chose the most restrictive option. (I supported the option to do nothing) This making of a decision behind closed doors brought back memories of "the Book Club" and the manipulation of the budget process in secret meetings. I was also out voted on a by-law change to reduce the role of elected officials in the oversight of the local HUD housing authority, reducing the accountability to the voters for and agency that spends millions of tax dollars annually. I will also be back fresh from my annual inspection of the Jail. We can also talk about what ever you want to talk about, just give us a call! Wed, 22 Sep 2021 - 1h 00min - 651 - Property Tax Relief Update for Fire Survivors
LIVE TODAY! @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! COVID is still the number one topic as local governments are passing emergency declarations in anticipation of labor shortages due to vaccine mandates. This is a real concern as the vaccination rate varies in public employees and law enforcement has one of the lowest rates. Another area with lower rates is our field personnel in public works departments, like the guys that run the landfill. Whether you support the mandates or not, the labor shortage they will cause in the local government could be as big a health hazard as COVID. BLM is still moving ahead with removing Horton Pond. Floodplain regulation is back on our agenda and I am going to jail next week...for an inspection. We can also talk about whatever you want to talk about, just give us a call! Recently passed legislation (HB 2341) increased the amount eligible for property tax proration for most properties and removed the requirement for an application from property owners... Wed, 15 Sep 2021 - 1h 00min - 650 - The future of Hult Dam and 9/11 Memorial Ride
LIVE TODAY! @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! It was one year ago today that we started to understand the scope of the tragedy that began the night before during a historic east wind event. It was twenty years ago this coming Saturday that another tragedy brought on intentionally by evil people struck this nation. We are going to talk about both and a memorial ride. The BLM (the federal agency not the political movement or organization) is also proposing to remove the Hult Pond near Horton where many locals learned to fish and swim as kids. Covid is still in the news as mandates are being pushed instead of education. The local community voice is critical to reimagining the future of the Hult Dam area. To hear from the public, the BLM will hold an open house on Thursday, September 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. The BLM invites members of the public to attend any portion of the open house. Project staff will be available to share information, answer questions, and receive comments. There will be no formal presentations. What: Hult Dam & Reservoir safety open house Where: Hult Reservoir (north of Horton) When: Thursday, September 16, 2021 4 to 7 p.m. Also talk about the fifth annual 9/11 Memorial Ride and First Responder & Military Appreciation Event. see our Facebook page for more details. We hope you can join us every Wednesday at 4 PM on KRBNradio.net and simulcast on Facebook Live. Did you miss the live show? Wed, 08 Sep 2021 - 1h 00min - 649 - COVID, Fireworks and Freedom
LIVE TODAY! @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! I'm Baaack! While it was gone our board went beyond fire safety and banned the sales and manufacture of fireworks during a declared fire season, not just the use and discharge. Yesterday they approved a letter over my objections that commended the Governor for her actions around COVID even though she is doing all of them under what I believe to be an unconstitutional power grab. Then there is the question of vaccine mandates while telling people that if they lose their job over-vaccination status they will not be eligible for unemployment. Can you say "coercion"? Regardless, vaccination is still statistically the best defense against COVID, even the Delta variant. Parents need to take their concerns over school mask mandates to Salem where it is being forced on your local school board at the point of a gun figuratively, firing a superintendent caught in the middle is just stupid. There are also a few national/international issues that blew up while I was gone, do you know what time it is Joe? We can also talk about whatever you want to talk about, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. You can listen to the show online (just click the picture below) or on your phone by calling 646-721-9887. Wed, 01 Sep 2021 - 1h 00min - 648 - Lane County Commissioners call for masking up
LIVE TODAY! @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! What a difference a week makes. Last week Oregon was at COVID hospitalization and ICU numbers were similar to last June when we lifted restrictions. This week we are setting records. The Delta variant is real and extremely contagious so our Board issued an emergency public health advisory asking people to take extra precautions like wearing masks indoors...today the Governor used her self given emergency powers to make that a mandate, not a request. Meanwhile, we have the Middle Fork Complex burning near Oakridge causing level 1 and 2 evacuation notices. Our Board is moving forward with a fireworks ban during fire season that goes beyond use and discharge. And di you know that Lane County Parks actually requires dogs to be on a leash? I am surprised how many people were unaware. We can also talk about whatever you want to talk about, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 11 Aug 2021 - 1h 00min - 647 - More fires & more masks mandates coming?
LIVE TODAY! @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Delta, Vaccines, and Masks! Oh my! Let's take a step back and look at some data. Fire and smoke are back in Lane County. Against my objection our Board has made public employees paid with taxpayer money above the taxpayers by setting a minimum wage for these public employees above those paying for that wage. The progressives also chose to deny a quarry application rather than allow additional time to address a possible conflict causing longer truck trips to deliver gravel in the Oakridge area adding to our carbon footprint and to he cost of needed housing. Speaking of climate and resilience the privileged folks of South Eugene have managed to stop a project aimed at making Eugene's drinking water system more resilient to climate change because, "not in my backyard!" Just like the safe sleeping sites for the homeless. We can also talk about what ever you want to talk about, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 04 Aug 2021 - 1h 00min - 646 - Fireworks and possible bans
LIVE TODAY! @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! The Board will consider a fireworks ban for Lane County but the devil is in the details. The board is also moving forward with a ban of styrofoam and a $15/hour minimum wage for county employees. I also want to talk about the EWEB reservoir project in south Eugene as I was part of the master planning for that project. COVID is also getting back into the news and I want to make clear that Lane County never intended to go door-to-door unsolicited to ask people if they want a vaccine. The reporting of remarks by our spokeperson were taken out of context. We can also talk about what ever you want to talk about, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. You can listen to the show online (just click the picture below) or on your phone by calling 646-721-9887. Wed, 21 Jul 2021 - 59min - 645 - Mike Pihl, Executive Board President of #TimberUnity
My guest this week will be Mike Pihl, Executive Board President of #TimberUnity Association to talk about the charitable work of the association to provide hay to Klamath Basin farmers that were cut-off from irrigation water. #TimberUnity recently provided funds and tools to victims of last year’s Labor Day fires. You may also remember Mike from the History Channel show “Axe Men”. You can even call in and ask Mike about #TimberUnity and anything else on your mind. Wed, 14 Jul 2021 - 1h 00min - 644 - Post 4th of July show
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Independence Day was eventful in Lane County. On the inspiration side, Robin will give a firsthand report on the Tribute to Fallen Soldiers motorcycle ride to Junction City including a flyover by F-18's. On the controversial side, there was an unpermitted parade in Creswell to talk about. On the tragically sad side, two people died and several were injured in holiday traffic on Hwy 126 in Veneta. This tragedy and the recent cyber attacks has me thinking about the Infrastructure Bill in Congress that seems to be stalled. We can also talk about whatever is on your mind, just give us a call! Wed, 07 Jul 2021 - 58min - 643 - 4th of July and fire danger
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! I'm back from Delaware where no masks were required and today the Governor finally dropped our mask mandate, one of the last states to do so. The 4th is this weekend and today ODF moved us into "high fire danger" limiting many activities like lawn mowing so not setting off personal fireworks should be a no brainer. I have a suggestion of alternate ways to celebrate our Independence. The legislature finally adjourned so we are safe for another year but there were some really bad bills passed in the late moments during a session which no public allowed in the building. There is so much more to talk about or we can also talk about whatever is on your mind, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 30 Jun 2021 - 1h 00min - 642 - Proposed Homeless Camp Sites
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! So the City of Eugene is proposing "safe sleeping" sites and none are south of 11th but 8 of 11 are in Council Ward 7. One site is not even inside the city limits! At the same time they are considering an ordinance requiring RV and car campers to move every couple of days. Thne Governor finally signed HB 2289 that will waive planning approvals for folks that lost a residence due to the Holiday Farm fire. I asked the Board to provide policy direction to our staff to take the most liberal interpretation of the legislation and make it easy for fire victims to skip the planning process, Heather Buch and the rest of the progressive majority balked at providing this guidance. COVID is still making news and Oregon now wants counties to put money into the vaccine lottery, but veterans have to jump through hoops to participate. We can also talk about whatever is on your mind, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 16 Jun 2021 - 1h 02min - 641 - Do you believe in vaccination passports?
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! We hit the arbitrary 65% adult vaccination rate and the scepter has waived so Lane County is now permanently in the low risk category but do those restrictions even make sense anymore? Should you be required to present proof of vaccination? Do progressives really support democracy? Our current progressive Board majority does not seem to support the People's democratic initiative rights. I asked a question to our homeless services folks, are we starting to attract homeless to Lane County with the enabling "assistance" we provide or are we really concentrating on providing re-abling case management that will decrease our homeless population. We are spending tens of millions on services for the homeless and the population is growing. What do you think? We can also talk about whatever is on your mind, just give us a call! Wed, 09 Jun 2021 - 1h 00min - 640 - Jay is Back!!!
Live at 4 PM Pacific time on The Boze Noze Show – the CDC's new guidance on wearing a mask and being fully vaccinated has created a "Catch-22" for businesses and governments across America. How do you know someone has been fully vaccinated in a country that recognizes the right of individuals to refuse to release medical information? We will talk about this and more today on The Boze Noze Show starting at 4 PM Pacific time give us a call at 646-721-9887
Wed, 02 Jun 2021 - 1h 00min - 639 - Taxes, timber, budgets, and COVID Oh my! I think I have whiplash from Gov. Karen
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Taxes, timber, budgets and COVID, oh my! I think I have whiplash from Gov. Brown's constantly changing risk levels and metrics when it comes to COVID restrictions. I think some of those changes were due to the public outcry over the extreme risk shutdowns. I also authored an opinion piece on how the wood products industry is paying a 50% higher tax burden than the rest of businesses in Oregon. We are currently in our budget cycle that is looking okay but still not sufficient when it comes to law enforcement. While we can't put enough patrol out in the county somebody is vandalizing Eugene City Councilors homes with defund the police graffiti. Wed, 12 May 2021 - 1h 04min - 638 - We're Closed - AGAIN! (But you don't have to wear your mask.)
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Holy shutdown Batman! Here we go again but this time the restrictions are even further out of alignment with the data and will not address the issue of concern. The Board and the Association of Oregon Counties both sent letters to Governor asking for her to reconsider her ill-advised shut down coming on Friday. I have a lot to say about this and data to share about where Lane County is seeing case growth and transmissions and why closing indoor dining and gyms will not decrease cases or hospital usage. We can also talk about whatever is on your mind, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 21 Apr 2021 - 1h 00min - 636 - CAT tax, Family leave tax, Carbon Tax and more
IVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Ernst and Young, a "big 4" accounting firm, released a new study that shows the forest products industry pays a larger tax burden when compared to other businesses in Oregon. Yet, we are seeing proposals to add taxes to the industry based on false claims they aren't paying their fair share. At the same time, lumber prices and housing are at all time highs. If you add new taxes on the industry that produces lumber do you think that might just add to the housing problem? Speaking of the homeless, it seems even Eugeneans have their limits when they can't get to their jobs due to on street camping. COVID is also still a big story and the legislature is at "crossover" today so their is a mad scramble to keep bills alive. We can also talk about whatever is on your mind, just give us a call! Wed, 07 Apr 2021 - 1h 00min - 634 - Lane County at low risk level
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! "Build back better!" is the newest sound bite that is supposed to make us all feel good but what we should be hearing is "we're form the government and we're here to help you" and it should scare you just as bad. Speaking of building it looks like we are finally moving towards waiving permit fees for the victims of the Holiday Farm Fire. Speaking of housing, the legislature is after your mortgage interest deduction. Representative Marty "No bacon for grandpa!" Wilde is trying to tax DA's for filing charges on behalf of the state? Dairy Mart announced the closure of one of their stores and government is to blame. We can also talk about whatever is on your mind, just give us a call! Wed, 31 Mar 2021 - 1h 01min - 633 - The Boze Noze Show
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! COVID keeps dominating the news as Lane County is moving down to the "Lower Risk" category under the Governor's metrics and we opened vaccination up to those 45-64 with underlying health conditions and have gone to self sign-up for appointments. All of this is due to great work of our Public Health staff and many community volunteers. It is also due to the incredible job the University of Oregon did getting their outbreak under control. I just hope we don't see a post spring break bump that sends us backwards. We are also experiencing a pandemic of catalytic converter thefts in Oregon and there is a bi-partisan bill that would stop them if only our legislature could put the people ahead of politics. Speaking of the legislature we can also talk about fire recovery, sentencing for violent crime, and parents rights. We can also talk about whatever is on your mind, just give us a call! Wed, 24 Mar 2021 - 1h 00min - 632 - Did you get your stimulus check? Don’t forget, Oregon is going to tax it
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! It has been one-year of COVID in Lane County so let's talk about where we are with vaccinations and the tie between prevention policies and unemployment. While were on the subject of the pandemic, the state still is planning on taxing your relief checks from the feds. I am also beginning to wonder if some of our Portland legislators understand the link between diesel engines and the food the eat everyday. We can also talk about whatever is on your mind, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 17 Mar 2021 - 1h 00min - 631 - Today on the Boze Nose Show…
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Should a 16-year old be able to vote in Oregon? The same people that are worried about voter restrictions are proposing restrictions on the initiative process with HB 2684. HB 2928 proposes to eliminate the use of tear gas by police to control crowds that this summer used commercial grade fireworks, Molotov cocktails, frozen water bottles, sling shots, and blinding lasers against the police. Taking away the middle ground between doing nothing to control a riot or using lethal force. In better news, Lane County is moving to OHA's "moderate Risk" level and restaurants will be allowed 50% seating capacity. Also in good news, the threatened destruction by anarchist in Eugene was called off due to a visible presence of police, thanks EPD! We can also talk about Eugene's sweep of the homeless along the river and other topics, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Fri, 12 Mar 2021 - 1h 03min - 630 - Covid and openings, and HRJ 13 may increase your property taxes
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! The data is in and Oregon had over 2,000 excess deaths in 2020. The UO is getting the outbreak that came with students returning under control and Lane County is being allowed to partially re-open by the overlords at OHA and Gov. "Karen" Brown. So why can't parents watch football from the fence if under OHA rules an outdoor wedding would be allowed 75 people? Your freedoms are still under attack by the legislature and my fellow Commissioners. The legislature wants you to vote to raise your property taxes by 60%. We can also talk about recent racist vandalism and other topics, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Thu, 04 Mar 2021 - 1h 01min - 629 - SB 554 Gun Control, Farmers Severance Tax and More
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! The legislature is in session and your freedoms and hard earned money are not safe. From allowing local governments to restrict Constitutionally affirmed rights to a slew of new taxes and fees it is hard to keep track of all the ways our legislature is trying to make Oregon a jobless wasteland. In addition, they are proposing soft on crime laws while restricting law enforcement. Is it a wonder why we are starting to see articles written about the death of Portland? We can also talk COVID and other topics, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Thu, 25 Feb 2021 - 59min - 628 - Winter storms without natural gas
Live Wednesday at 4 PM Pacific time – it sounds unthinkable to rely totally on electricity and to get rid of natural gas which is what Eugene is actually considering following AOC's in the Biden administration's "Green new deal" to reduce carbon and of course, reduce some more green in our wallets. Imagine that you're in Texas right along with millions of Texans who were in a rolling blackout due to winter storms and you are totally 100% reliant on electricity. Part of the reason why there is no electricity is because the windmills are frozen but the technician can't get to the windmills to go fix them because there's no electricity to charge your electric car or service vehicle. People are doing anything they can stay warm and then of course there is always that one person who goes against the grain, still drives a gasoline car, has a gasoline generator, several bottles of propane kicking back in their nice warm house watching satellite TV. Still want to get rid of the natural gas? So we'll talk about the weather, and anything else you'd like to talk about give us a call at 4 PM Wednesday at 646-721-9887 and of course join us live here on Facebook. All of our programs are archived on iTunes, player.FM, and others.
Thu, 18 Feb 2021 - 1h 00min - 627 - What happened to the "Science!"
Live at 4pm PT on the boze Noze Show Lane County is being kept in the extreme risk category by our overlords at OHA and the governor's office. Despite the fact that 33% of our recent cases deprived from a tiny geographic area of our County known as the University of Oregon. We are vaccinating 30-year-old employees ahead of 80-year-old seniors. What happened to "Science!." We can also talk about gas, carbon and other sciency things ...just call us at 646-721-9887 The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Thu, 11 Feb 2021 - 1h 01min - 626 - Covid, gas, Stimulus check taxes and more.
LIVE on TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! I want to talk about COVID and the unscientific approach our state is taking on controlling the spread as well as distribution of the vaccine. The U of O is driving Lane County into the extreme risk category keeping many other small businesses closed. Individual freedom is also under attack from the City of Eugene, the Oregon legislature and our President. Why have we suddenly turned to government to control individual behavior? I also want to hear what is on your mind so give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Thu, 04 Feb 2021 - 1h 00min - 625 - testimony to Eugene on banning natural gas
LIVE WEDNESDAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific The City of Eugene is talking about banning natural gas from all new construction and one of the justifications is that hydraulic fracturing or “Fracking” is used to produce it. My guest this week will be Susan Foster. Susan spent 30-years as a petroleum engineer and actually designed hydraulic fracturing wells. She will about what fracking is and why it is needed and then we will review the risks and safety record of the industry. She will also be available to answer your questions on the subject so give us a call! Susan Foster is a retired Petroleum Engineer with more than 30 years of Oil & Gas industry experience. She graduated from The Pennsylvania State University in 1984 with a degree in Petroleum & Natural Gas Engineering. Thu, 28 Jan 2021 - 1h 01min - 624 - The Boze Noze Show
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! I have a short list of things I would have liked to hear President Biden say today. Springfield has a new Mayor. I am getting a steroid shot in my left eardrum a couple of hours before the show to try and repair nerve damage from a recent virus, so who knows what I might say. LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Let's talk about non-initiation of force as a life and political principle. Let's talk about freedom, liberty and personal responsibility. If that gets too boring we can talk about the future of the county budget. We can also talk about anything else on you mind, just give us a call! Thu, 14 Jan 2021 - 1h 00min - 622 - End of the Year show
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! It seems like it has been longer than 12 months since we were worried about the Cap and Tax legislation and held the huge Timber Unity Rally in Salem but that is just one of the topics that will come up in our year in review. COVID, BLM, Wildfires, Floodplain Ordinances and taxation without representation are just a few of topics we will also try to get to during the show. Thinking about it all just makes me want to drink wine, pet my poodles and take a nap. We can also talk about anything else on you mind, just give us a call! Thu, 31 Dec 2020 - 1h 03min - 621 - Taxation without representation and unscientific closure of gyms
Live today at 4pm Pacific, I (Jay Bozievich) have engaged an attorney to represent my dispute with the city of Eugene challenging Eugene's new public safety payroll tax. “I also cannot believe it is constitutional to try and tax the employee's income that derives from work they do outside of City limits. My working office is located in my district outside of City limits, how am I subject to this taxation without any representation?” Continued Bozievich, “How many other people is the City trying to extort by misapplying their tax authority?” Attorney Alan Thayer noted "Section 1 of the Ordinance adds 10 sections to the Eugene Code. One of those, Eugene Code 3.724(1) imposes the tax on every employer, “except the federal government, State of Oregon or any political subdivision of the state.” The City of Eugene enacted Ordinance No. 20616 on June 10, 2019, that imposes a 0.22% tax on employers and a 0.44% tax on employees based on the employee's wages to pay for various “public safety” programs. The tax becomes effective on January 1, 2021. To sum up, the Public Safety tax applies to anybody who works or lives in the Eugene area. We will also touch on the unscientific closures of gyms in the Eugene area. We are also days before Christmas – give us a call and tell us how Christmas is the same or different for you this year. And of course, we are a call-in talk show so give us a call as you can always change the direction of the conversation at 646-721-9887 we simulcast on Facebook live and all programs are archived for listening later on iTunes, player.FM and others
Thu, 24 Dec 2020 - 54min - 620 - More on the Holiday Farm Fire Floodplain Ordinance
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific, It's the Boze Noze Show! Our Board Chair, Heather Buch, who represents the area destroyed in the Holiday Farm Fire voted yesterday to enact a new more restrictive floodplain ordinance that will cost the victims of that fire both time and money when they want to rebuild their homes if they are located in the floodplain. Our Governor continues to make unscientific decisions around preventing the spread of COVID. The rest of the Board also voted to adopt an Affordable Housing Action Plan that stressed government doing the building and taxation to pay for it rather than removing barriers to private sector housing. We can also talk about anything else on you mind, just give us a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Thu, 17 Dec 2020 - 1h 02min - 619 - Lock down defiance, Mandatory Vaccinations and more...
Live today at 4 PM on the Boze Nose Show, our governor and OSHA need to make decisions based on data not conjecture as we have nine months of data from contact tracing to indicate what the true area risk for Covid transmission are as there is no support for restaurants being a major source of transmission. Vaccinations and the possibility that they may become mandatory. Can you be fired if you refuse? Being that Oregon and Washington are a right to work state, that answer is yes. Along Came Trudy in Springfield is open despite governor Brown's restrictions and as a result has lost their liquor license and will be fined $500 per each day she stays open. All this and your phone calls at 646-721-9887 and if you miss any the programs, all shows are archived and are available on iTunes, player.FM and KRBNradio.net
Thu, 10 Dec 2020 - 1h 01min - 618 - Covid Restrictions, Floodplain & LCSO
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific It's the Boze Noze Show! The Governor's freeze is ending only to place new restrictions on Lane County that have nothing to do with how COVID is transmitted in this community and will have dire consequences for businesses, yet the UO stays open where 1/4 of our cases originate. Our board is continuing to move forward with a floodplain ordinance that will cause problems for Holiday Farm fire victims despite my best efforts to dissuade Chair Buch. We also got a report on how the LCSO uses surplus military equipment to prevent the need to make deadly force decisions like EPD had to make in Whiteaker this week. Election integrity is still a large issue and one of the basics is setting fair district boundaries for elected representation and we talked about the future of that process today. Oh, and the Governor's proposed budget includes $146 million to finally fix the employment department's antique COBOL computer system. All topics are fair game so give me a call! LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific It's the Boze Noze Show! Last Thursday was the 50th anniversary of Exploding Whale Day! It was one of the greatest examples of the bad unintended consequences of well meaning government actions. So to celebrate that we will be talking about our Governor's two week lockdown. We can also discuss the national election as it is not over yet. All topics are fair game so give me a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific It's the Boze Noze Show! On Veteran's Day I will tell the story of Lynwood Davenport, WWII veteran and my father-in-law who I was just visiting last month in Kentucky. I will also probably talk about Floodplain code and the Holiday Farm Fire as it took up a large part of the commissioner's meeting yesterday. So let's talk about the 4 new deputy positions we funded or how we are trying to help folks rebuild after the Holiday Farm fire. Wed, 14 Oct 2020 - 1h 04min - 613 - talk about a new floodplain code that is being proposed in Lane County
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific It's the Boze Noze Show! We will be talking about floodplain and COVID today. Yesterday's Board meeting was a little heated...I just want to do everything I can to make it as easy and cheap as possible for folks to rebuild their homes after the Holiday Farm Fire but my desire to do so is somehow unprofessional. We also did not go back to Phase One shut downs yesterday but we do need to take personal responsibility to slow the spread of COVID in Lane County. All topics are fair game so give me a call! LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific It's the Boze Noze Show! Bill Lundun from the Wake Up Call on AM1120 KPNW will be my guest today. Bill is an unsung hero of the wildfire events keeping us all informed factually when rumors were running amok on social media. We will talk about what it is like to cover a multi-day breaking news story and some of the information he has uncovered about property taxes that might be helpful for those that have had fire losses. The conversation may also cover bacon and single malts. In case you have not been paying attention, we are also experiencing another surge in COVID-19 cases here in Lane County. Wed, 23 Sep 2020 - 1h 02min - 610 - "Climate" fires - Rumors - Blame - Smoke and just plain WOW!
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific It's the Boze Noze Show! Holy smoke it has been a week of hazardous air quality but the end of the bad air is supposed to be tomorrow with some rain forecast but we have been hearing "tomorrow will be better" for a week now. The good part of the inversion and calm winds is that it suppresses fire behavior and the minimal resource we have to fight this fire have been able stop further progress into neighborhoods. We have even been able to lower some of the evacuation levels to allow folks back into their homes. The big fire in Lane County along the McKenzie River valley, now called the Holiday Farm Fire, is now at 167,400 acres and eight percent contained and the Red Cross has 890 people housed in 12 hotels with a new shelter opened this morning at Churchill High Schoo so nobody should be sleeping in their car. Lane County has opened a Multi-Agency Resource Center for those displaced by the fire as a one stop shop for connecting to services and information. Our first report on structures from the survey team reports over 300 as a total loss and they are not done yet. At least there has been only one confirmed death which is amazing for such a fast spreading fire. If you don't want to talk about these topics or if you do, give me a call! Wed, 16 Sep 2020 - 1h 01min - 609 - the fire situation here in Oregon
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific It's the Boze Noze Show! I am changing plans and moving the interview with Scott to a later date so we can cover the fire situation here in Oregon. The one in 100-year east wind event unfortunately lived up to the warnings and is causing tragedy on a scale we have not seen here in Oregon since the 1930's. The big fire in Lane County along the McKenzie River valley is now at 104,000 acres and zero percent contained and over 3,000 homes have been evacuated. Stories are starting to come in of nearly the entire town of Blue River being lost and other homes and businesses destroyed. Worse yet, the fire moved so fast that officials believe there was loss of life but have been unable to access the areas to confirm any. Cell phone towers were burned so communication is near impossible in the steep hilly terrain. Fire fighting resources are stretched so thin as to be almost non-existent compared to the size of the fires. Air quality in our area is off the scale unhealthy but i fell fortunate that is the only problem I am personally facing. The only good news is that the weather forecast is calling for diminishing winds over the next several days and air quality is supposed to improve by Thursday evening. If you don't want to talk about these topics or if you do, give me a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 09 Sep 2020 - 1h 02min - 608 - Jay is fired up....
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific It's the Boze Noze Show! It must be the end times because Fire, Disease, and Floods have dominated my week. Friday afternoon I was startled out of my pre-weekend stupor by a call letting me know multiple fires were burning in the Fern Ridge area, one just a mile north of my house! Fortunately, due to the great work of multiple agencies, all four fires that afternoon were controlled and put out. That led to Sunday's multiple fires near Mapleton. Now there is a suspect in custody for those fires. I can't say enough good things about our local fire departments, ODF's crews, and Lane County's Public Works and Sheriff's staff. So to follow that up the Board had to extend the local public health emergency declaration for COVID, mostly to be able to react to our state government ever-changing requirements for getting CARES Act funds that should have just been passed through to us like Portland. Then we worked on our Floodplain and Floodway code update that should mostly have been about making it comply with changes in the FEMA flood insurance program and some tightening of loopholes and standards to improve safety. That got derailed by the Progressive majority on the Board and now it has become a re-write to try and control all development along streams...this seems a lot like the attempt in 2010 to put a 200-foot buffer along all waterways in the county. If you don't want to talk about these topics or if you do, give me a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 02 Sep 2020 - 59min - 607 - The Boze Noze Show with Commissioner Bozievich
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific It's the Boze Noze Show! Should Lane County change names or just re-dedicate and change Lanes? The Governor threw counties under the bus for not doing enough to control COVID while she hung on to our federal CARES Act COVID Relief Funds. Starve us of resources then lay the blame on counties for your crazed desire to shut down our economy even further. (Did you know today is the last day to sign the recall petition?) The rest of the Board also voted to transfer part of the Fairgrounds for housing for families yards from a concert venue and midway. We are now at 90-days of riots and counting in Portland and some kind of national conventions have been happening. Let's talk about it all, just give me a call! Wed, 26 Aug 2020 - 1h 01min - 606 - "Most people think PGE stands for Portland Gets Everything!"
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific It's the Boze Noze Show! To quote Sen. Betsy Johnson, "Most people think PGE stands for Portland Gets Everything!" The emergency Board of the legislature had the opportunity to fix the inequity in COVID Relief Funds distribution that has Portland getting $174/person upfront with few strings compared to the $27/person Lane County has been promised in reimbursement with multiple strings attached. Thank you Senator Johnson for your No vote on diverting our funds to purchase PPE "on our behalf". I wish I could say the same for the local delegation on the E-Board but Sen. Manning, Sen. Roblan and Rep. Holvey all voted to divert local funds to state coffers and allow PGE to continue. Meanwhile the Board was focused on institutional racism and had a general listening session in which we got three, yes 3, people testifying to us. Is this really a big issue or is it an excuse for mass protest and unrest in an election year, or maybe our Board leadership did a poor job of communication? It did lead to a discussion about Racial and Ethnic Disparities (RED) in our justice system, Critical Race Theory and Equity vs. Equality. Let's talk about it all, just give me a call! Wed, 19 Aug 2020 - 1h 01min - 604 - The Governor and the Legislative leadership
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific It's the Boze Noze Show! Is it time for another convoy to Salem? The Governor and the Legislative leadership are allowing a massive inequity to develop between Portland and the rest of the state in how CARES Act COVID Relief Funds (CRF) are distributed to local governments. Local governments over 500,000 including Portland and Washington County received upfront over $170/resident. Smaller jurisdictions outside of Portlandia have been promised between $60-80/resident via reimbursement not upfront funding and with much more restrictive rules on how the funds could be spent. On top of that, the protests are now requiring the Oregon State Police to keep 100 officers of there total force of less than 800 in Portland draining law enforcement from the rural areas of the rest of the state. Governor Brown is angry that she could not get government union school employees to the head of the line for unemployment benefits while her hapless bureaucracy still has not been able to get benefits to folks that she put out of work through executive orders six months ago. Let's talk about it all, just give me a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 12 Aug 2020 - 1h 00min - 603 - Jay has a rant!
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific It's the Boze Noze Show! Back from a weekend trip to the redwoods in the COVID Capsule also known as our Airstream.I spent some time catching up on social media and I have a rant about folks that don't fact check before sharing. Protests in Portland continue and get ready for a possible reaction to the grand jury decision on the motorist who hit a Black Unity leader to be announced right before show time. There has been a lot of talk about mail in elections and I have some insights into why the New York congressional elections went awry and why folks are worried about November. We are also prepping for another special session of the legislature, will it be about the budget like it should be or will they try to do policy outside the regular sessions? Let's talk about it all, just give me a call! The Boze Noze Show is live at 4:00 pm Pacific on Wednesdays. Wed, 05 Aug 2020 - 1h 00min - 602 - Another weekend of violence and destruction in downtown Eugene
LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific It's the Boze Noze Show! Another weekend of violence and destruction in downtown Eugene. This time the mob showed their intent to intimidate others into not speaking out about lawlessness with their targeted attack on Elkhorn Brewery. I am challenging all local elected officials to denounce the tactics used by the mob and show support of the business owner's free speech rights. We also got an update on our homeless situation last night and our new homeless czar has decided to completely re-write the strategies that come from a national consultant in the TAC report. Guess what is now being called for and which direction the price tag went. Councilor Zelenka is already talking about a tax levy to pay for it. Let's talk about it all, just give me a call! Wed, 29 Jul 2020 - 1h 00min - 601 - What does "respoNei billy" mean? Tune in to find out.
Moderate Fire Danger (Blue) season is upon us. These are minimum required precautions, you have a "respoNei billy" to prevent wildfires. LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific It's the Boze Noze Show! It is fire season and Jay is struggling with autocorrect. The Board approved a one year rollover contract extension with our largest bargaining unit, AFSCME general and also our AFSCME Nurses unit. It included a 1% increase for all members for the cost of living. Our Board Chair, Heather Buch, voted against approval even though the bargaining units voted to approve them because she felt we should give them bigger increases with YOUR TAX DOLLARS! What do you think is fair during period of double digit unemployment and millions of still employed workers taking pay and hours cuts? We also talked about how to keep the homeless safe this winter while preventing the spread of COVID. And then there is Portland...Let's talk about it all, just give me a call! LIVE TODAY @ 4:00 pm Pacific It's the Boze Noze Show! Outdoor mask mandates and birthday party limits. How is Lane County dealing with the pandemic and should we consider going backwards to phase 1? Elizabeth had a COVID test ordered and we went through the drive in testing at McKenzie Willamette Hospital and I will share our experience.
