In this episode, we explore the dramatic transformation of Alma the Younger and the sons of Mosiah after their rebellion against the Church. After the chapter, I'll be interviewing my husband, Aaron Campbell, and talking about a very personal and sacred experience for us. Aaron's battle with Guillain-Barré Syndrome—a condition that, much like Alma's experience, left him temporarily paralyzed and unable to move. His story offers some pretty profound parallels. Through this lens, we’ll examine both Alma’s miraculous recovery and the spiritual insights we gained during our own extremely difficult trial. 

In this episode, we dive into Mosiah chapter 26 and uncover the challenges faced by Alma as he deals with a generation that has turned away from their faith. We'll explore the gripping story of how Alma seeks divine guidance to handle this crisis and the dramatic consequences that follow. What will happen to those who refuse to repent, and how will Alma's actions shape the future of the Church? Tune in to find out.

In this chapter, we witness the powerful union of the Nephites and the people of Zarahemla, led by King Mosiah. Alma's incredible missionary work continues as he baptizes Limhi and his people. This chapter focuses on the significance of preserving records, understanding one's roots, and the incredible power of FAITH, REPENTANCE, and COMMUNITY.

In today's chapter, we will follow Alma and his people through some tough times in Mosiah Chapter 24. Alma and his followers are facing some serious threats. They're not allowed to pray, and if they do, they could be killed! But even in the scariest moments, they keep praying silently in their hearts, and of course.... God hears their cries! Today we will talk about how God often times doesn't take our burdens away but he does help us by making our troubles feel lighter. And lets face it,.... these are his favorite times. The times we are closest to him, the times we pray the hardest, the times we need him in our life! 

As we follow Alma's journey in this chapter, we see how faith and trust in God can get us through even the hardest times. So get ready for an adventure packed with miracles and lessons about trusting in God. You won't want to miss it!

In this chapter, we'll dive into the story of Alma and his followers. It’s a journey filled with courage, faith, and divine intervention. As Alma steadfastly refuses to be a King and embraces his role as a High Priest, we'll witness the profound impact of the Holy Ghost in their lives, guiding and blessing them in miraculous ways. But their path is not without challenges, as the Lord chastens His people, and the Lamanites threaten to conquer their newfound land of Helam. 

We dive right into a period of hardship and deliverance for the people of Limhi. Facing bondage under Lamanite rule, they consult on how to escape. Eventually, Gideon proposes a plan to exploit the Lamanites' vulnerability, which is really quite ironic, but it leads to a successful escape into the wilderness.

We will talk about Limhi and his people having such a strong desire to make covenants with the Lord that they want to leave everything they know to be able to do that. After the chapter is over, I will be talking with Aunty Helen Goo and her daughter Cherisse Lee Goo, who will share insights from their experiences serving in various callings in the Church. We will also delve into the importance of the covenants or promises we make in the temple and talk about the acronym her husband came up with to easily remember them and what it means: "Only Saints of God Can Come".

It's a great chapter, and I hope it helps you to think about what covenants or promises you have made, or can make with the Lord. 

In Mosiah Chapter 21, we witness the ongoing struggles of Limhi and his people as they face afflictions and oppression from the Lamanites. Despite their efforts to maintain peace, the Lamanites continue to impose heavy burdens and even engage in physical abuse. Abinadi's prophecies regarding the consequences of iniquity are being fulfilled, serving as a stark warning for our own time.

Limhi's people experience profound loss and hardship, especially the widows who are left to care for their families amidst persecution. The community rallies to support these vulnerable members, reflecting the principles of compassion and communal care found in the gospel. Amidst their suffering, they cry out to God for deliverance, and though their burdens are lightened, they remain in bondage.

The arrival of Ammon and his brethren offers a glimmer of hope, as Limhi and his people desire baptism and a renewed commitment to God. However, they recognize the need for authorized priesthood authority and patiently await the opportunity to align themselves with the Church. As they strive to break free from bondage, they exemplify the resilience and faith needed to overcome adversity. This chapter serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of repentance, reliance on God, and the power of community support in navigating life's challenges.

Tensions rise as the Lamanites accuse Limhi's people of abducting their daughters. Limhi's wise decision to seek peace rather than retaliation showcases the power of humility and forgiveness in resolving conflicts. As the narrative unfolds, we witness the profound impact of approaching adversity with peaceful intentions, even in the face of grave accusations and threats of war. Through the courageous example of King Limhi and his people, we see first hand the amazing potential of choosing peace over violence, amidst trials and misunderstandings. This example makes us stop and think: What weapons can we put down in our own lives? 

King Noah's kingdom is in chaos as his people flee into the wilderness, leaving behind a trail of intrigue and betrayal. Amidst the turmoil, we witness the rise of new leaders like Limhi, who grapples with the legacy of his father's tyranny. Through the drama, we explore themes of courage, redemption, and the true essence of leadership. Previously, we witnessed the courageous prophet Abinadi delivering prophecies to wicked King Noah and his priests, even as he faced a fiery fate. In this chapter, Abinadi, a prophet, faces hostility for preaching truth to a corrupt ruler, King Noah. Abinadi's unwavering stance on repentance leads to his capture and eventual martyrdom by fire. A young priest named Alma, believes in Abinadi's words, escapes and documents the prophet's teachings. Despite the king's attempt to persuade Abinadi to retract his statements, he remains steadfast, emphasizing the truth of his message even in the face of death. His prophetic words foretell calamities upon the king and his followers for their iniquities. Abinadi's courageous sacrifice serves as a testament to his unwavering faith in God's commandments and seals the truth of his teachings through his martyrdom. His death not only serves as a witness against evil in the next life but also validates the truth of the Book of Mormon. It's intriguing to note that such executions have been discovered in ancient Aztec and Maya cultures, once again linking indigenous peoples of the Americas with the truths found in the Book of Mormon.

In this chapter we will discuss the confrontations between Abinadi and King Noah's priests, emphasizing the importance of repentance and the consequences of choices. We will reflect on life's unpredictability and the need for spiritual readiness. In this chapter we introduce you to King Noah, who becomes the ruler after his father's death. However, Noah proves to be a wicked and self-serving king, leading his people into sin and imposing heavy taxes to support his lavish lifestyle. As a result, the people become lazy, idolatrous, and engage in various forms of wickedness. Amid this deterioration, a prophet named Abinadi emerges, warning the people to repent or face the consequences.

We will talk about the importance of humility, self-reflection, and the avoidance of the wrong side of the pride cycle. We reflect on our own lives and consider the dangers of placing our hearts on worldly riches, boasting of our strength, and speaking lies or vain words. The story of Abinadi serves as a powerful example of the courage and conviction needed to stand for truth in the face of opposition. In this Chapter King Benjamin dies, and Mosiah is now king. Those who entered into a covenant with the Lord had their name written and kept in sacred records. We will talk about what it would be like if it was time to share your last testimony. What would you say?

King Benjamin gives his people a special name. We will talk about what it means to take upon ourselves the name of Christ. We will look at how King Benjamin's messages was recieved, and what it means to be "Born Again." We will end by talking with my good friend Kekai Smith. 

This chapter of the Book of Mormon is amazing. King Benjamin can see that the people are humble and want to learn more. So he continues to teach them how to live, and what they should teach their children. We will make connections between the way that Native American's speak and the language of the Book of Momron. We discuss how to control our thoughts, and in the end we will talk with April Sunshine Sanchez about what it means to the Navajo people to Walk In Beauty. In this chapter King Benjamin will continue his last sermon. We learn the qualities of a great leader, and we get to sit around the table and talk with Uncle Ra Puriri who served as a Labor Missionary in Temple View, New Zeland. 

King Benjamin teaches his sons about the Language of their ancestors. King Benjamin realizes his earthly time is coming to an end so he asks his sons to prepare and gather all his people. We will also talk with one of my Navajo sisters.....April SunShine Sanchez about Native American Culture and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 

In this chapter we will fast forward to the future in the year 385 A.D. as Mormon connects or abridges the plates he has found. He is taking the plates of Nephi along with the pates he has, and is combining the two. He will tell us about his time, and how he has seen almost the complete destruction of his people. We will talk about what it means to be a delightsome people and much more. Stick around for the end because we will talk with Seamus Fitzgerald about Maori Culture and how closely it is connected to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 

In the book of Omni there are 5 authors. Amaron (son of Omni), Chemish (brother of Amaron), and Abinadom (son of Chemish), and Amaleki (son of Abinadom). Amaleki then entrust the plates to King Benjamin. In this chapter we will be introduced to other groups of people who have traveled to the promise land, and we will hear a powerful testimony of Christ from Amaleki.

Jarom is Enos’s Son. Enos is the son of Jacob, and Jacob is the brother of Nephi. It really is fun to see these sacred records be passed down from generation to generation. Today as we read we will find out how many years they have been at war with the Lamanites, and Jarom with VERIFY that they Lord truly keeps his promises. It's a short chapter hope you enjoy it. 

There is only one chapter in Enos. We will read about how Enos prays all day and all night. We will also ponder how the savior will greet us when we see him again. Make sure you stick around until the end of the podcast, because we will also be talking with the amazingly talented Janice Kapp Perry, who is known for the music she has created. Sherem who is an AntiChrist will experience a miracle performed by God. Sherem will confess to ALL that the Scriptures truly testify of Christ. This is Jacobs last chapter so we will find out who he will entrust these scriptures too as he leaves his final words. Make sure you stick around until the end of this chapter because I will be sharing the rest of my conversation  with Vai and Keala Sikahema about life, work, and culture.

Jacob will tell us how the LORD will recover his people. We will read about Israel in the last days, and about the world being burned with fire. We will discuss the "Pleading Bar of God", and what it means to "Serve with Full Purpose of Heart". We will also be talking with Vai and Keala Sikahema about this chapter and their life experiences.  Get your mind ready! This Chapter is the longest and probably the most complex chapter in the Book of Mormon.  This is the allegory of the olive tree which is an allegory concerned with the scattering and gathering of Israel. This allegory was written onto the brass plates by the prophet Zenos. The descendants of father Lehi will be the first to be gathered in the last days.The Gentiles will be grafted into Israel, & Eventually the vineyard will be burned.

Today we will realize that all prophets since the beginning of time have prophesied and testified of the Savior and the power of the atonement. We will talk about the depths and mysteries of God, and we will head a warning…..to not look beyond the mark…..It’s going to be a great chapter….Lets dive in.

In the last Chapter Jacob scolded the people for their immoral deeds. Today is a continuation of the same sermon. It has been broken up into two parts. So it will be much of the same. He warns them against Fornication, and every type of sin. He will also will speak to the Pure in Hear. I will interview  Elder Parker who is currently the Mission President in Jamaica.

This chapter is basically Jacob scolding the Nephites. He is sad he has to speak so boldly in front of the women and children that are among them. We will discuss materialism and pride. We will also talk about President Nelson’s talk in conference and how we can let God Prevail in our Lives.

Jacob is Nephi’s younger brother. Sariah had Jacob some time during those 8 years that Lehi and his family traveled through the wilderness, between Jerusalem and Bountiful. Today with Jacob we will read and talk about Faith & Anxiety, the Pride Cycle, and what it means to magnify our callings. Jacob lets us know he will be focusing on spiritual things.

This is Nephi’s last chapter. I am sad to say goodbye to him. He has taught me so much, and it seems as though with his life experience he could have written so much more. In the end he has shared with us what was important, the things we need to know for our time. In this chapter we will talk about the Law of Consecration and read Nephi's beautiful plea to us, "the readers" to believe in Christ.

We will talk about speaking with the tongue of Angels, Feasting on the words of Christ, and the importance of Asking the Lord for guidance in our lives. We can have help daily, with every decision we ever make.  The Holy Ghost is willing to help us, its simply up to us to ask ….and then take action to receive the answers we need. 

Nephi talks about Baptism & The Holy Ghost. This chapter takes place about 559-545 years Before Christ. Nephi will be prophesying of Christ Baptism. Nephi will teach “The Doctrine of Christ”. In order to receive eternal life, we must exercise faith in Jesus Christ, repent of our sins, be baptized, receive the Holy Ghost, and endure to the end. I will also interview  President Steven Tueller and hiss wife Laurie Tueller.

The Book of Mormon will be taken back to the Lamanite People, the descendants of Lehi and the Gentiles. All those who believe in Christ shall become a delightsome people.  I will interview Terry Goedel who will tell us a Native American Legend about the Great White God. We will also talk about the current events and the fight against Racism. 

The Lord has spoken to every nation. There is more written word that we have yet to receive. The Lord remembers and knows us all. He will do a Marvelous Work, which is the restoration of the Gospel on earth. In the last days all scripture will work together to testify to the world that God remembers his children.

We will be talking about the false churches of the last days, the strategies Satan will use to distract us from righteousness, and how to recognize false doctrines. I will interview Letha Kingi, and we will talk about how to foster a desire in your children to discover their testimony of Christ. 

We will be reading about the last days & the coming forth of the Book of Mormon. We will talk about how Isaiah’s words were fulfilled when he spoke of Martin Harris taking ancient writings to Charles Anthon to be verified. His response is proof that the Book of Mormon is True, and that the Lords work will be done. You can compare this chapter to Isaiah 29.

Nephi foresees The Son of Righteousness appearing to the Lamanites. The Lord says he will manifesteth himself unto all those who believe in him, by the Power of the Holy Ghost. The Lord tells us that all men should have Charity. 

Nephi glories in plainness. Nephi Proclaims We talk of Christ, We rejoice in Christ, We preach of Christ, We prophesy of Christ, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins. Interview with Aaron Campbell & a special tribute to Margaret Fay Campbell

Compare to Isaiah 14. His hand is stretched out upon all Nations. Lucifer was cast out of Heaven. Israel will triumph over Babylon. Isaiah speaks of signs we can see happening in our day and time now, with the Coronavirus. I will also interview Dezi Lynn Hendershot and we will talk about Scripture, Parenting, and Navajo Culture. 

The lord will destroy the wicked and be merciful unto the righteous. The righteous are rare. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints announces that all Church Meetings are temporarily Suspended due to the Coronavirus. We will talk about how our current events go with this chapter by Isaiah. You can compare this chapter to Isaiah 13.

You can compare this Chapter to Isaiah 12. This Chapter is a song that Gathered Israel will sing in praise of the Lord in the Millennial Day. 

You can compare this chapter to Isaiah 11. We will discuss the Millennium. We will re-discover the Medicine wheel the Native American people use on their regalia as a symbol of the Gathering of the righteous from the four corners of the earth in the last days. We will talk about what it will be like when Peace covers the earth and the Lion and the Lamb can finally rest together. We will also talk quite a bit about Joseph Smith and his role in the Final Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 

You can compare this chapter to Isaiah 10. In today’s chapter we will be reading about the destruction of Assyria, and the destruction of the wicked at the second coming. We will find proof that Joseph Smith is a True prophet of God, and we will be given a chance to reflect on how prepared we are as a people, as a family, and as a person individually for the second coming of Christ. 

The chapter will begin with a continuation of Isaiah’s prophecy in the last chapter. He will add to it another prophecy, and we will discuss the names of the savior. Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. We will discuss the imagery of His Hand Stretched Out Still, and what that means for us.

Compare to Isaiah 8. We will read about three symbols of Jesus Christ. Water, Temple, and Light. We will talk about where we can find light in our own lives, and what it means to be a God Fearing Person. We will talk about Isaiah’s wife and the significance of his sons name. We will also discuss why names are important. We will end  with an Interview and discussion with Palmer Gambler who also has a podcast called: Living Lehi’s Legacy.

Isaiah is talking about War against Judah, who is Jerusalem. You can compare this chapter to Isaiah 7. We will learn that if we trust in the Lord's words, as communicated to us by his prophets, rather than rely on the arm of flesh, we will be protected during the wars in the last days. I will also interview Saanii Atsitty who is a Navajo Woman working at This is the Place Heritage Park in Salt Lake City. 

This has easily become one of my favorite parts of Isaiah. In this chapter Isaiah sees the Lord. We will talk about and think about the animals in the Lords kingdom.  Isaiah’s calling and election is made sure, and he is given the gift of the second comforter. The Lord tells Isaiah to teach and write in a way that will not be easily understood, much like parables. Those who are ready to understand will.

Today we will read about the Lord Vineyard. A Righteous Roar will cover the face of the earth. You can compare this chapter to Isaiah 5. We will end the Podcast speaking with Michael Preece. 

Nephi will share more of Isaiah's words. You can compare this to Isaiah chapter 4. We will talk about the Daughters of Zion and their situation after Armageddon. We will discuss the power of temples, and the opportunity we have as parents to defend our children spiritually with the patterns we establish in our homes.

In this Chapter Nephi will again share the words of Isaiah. You can compare this chapter to Isaiah 3. He talks about how Jerusalem will be punished for their pride, and disobedience. These may be patterns we will see in the future in the latter days. We will discuss the importance of respecting our elders and how our countenances will show his light to those we come in contact with.

 Nephi ended the last chapter by letting us know he was going to share more of Isaiah’s words with us. So you can compare this chapter with Isaiah 2. We will talk about the Temples that fill our world, and the idols we may have in our lives. We will talk about Christ being the Prince of Peace and how when we fill our lives with Christ he somehow turns our swords into tools that help us serve. We will interview my good friend Coral Barajas who served at Temple Square at the end of the chapter so stick around for her interview and thoughts at the end. 

Nephi tells us how he saw his Redeemer and he lets us know the reason he loves Isaiah so much. We will talk about one of President Nelson’s talks called Joy and Spiritual Survival. We will discuss the law of Moses and think about what we delight in. 

Jacob who is Lehi’s son has been reading the words of Isaiah to us. In the last chapter he told us that the reason he shares these things with us is so that we can know the blessings that are ours to partake of… if we live righteously. Today He will speak specifically about America and what will happen to it. We will talk about Reconciling ourselves with the Lord, and the possibility that many different groups of people traveled to the isles of the sea. Stick around because I will play clips from a fantastic talk by George P. Lee called My Heritage is Choice. 

Jacob tells us the reason for sharing Isaiah’s words. He talks about what will happen after death. Jacob discusses baptism, repentance and expresses his desire for us to prepare now to meet our Maker. 

 Jacob has been sharing the words of Isaiah with his family, and those who will listen. Today we will talk about Dragons, Two Prophets who have been prophesied to lie dead in the streets, and the Death of the heavens. You can compare this chapter to Isaiah 51 and 52 vs. 1-2.  

 In the Last chapter Jacob shared some of the words of Isaiah with his people the Nephites. Today he will continue to share Isaiah’s words and will focus most of his time on the Savior. We will also talk about Agency, How to follow the Spirit in our own lives, and the Maori Haka.  

Jacob will share Isaiah's words. He will teach of the Scattering and Gathering of Israel. We will realize the "Holy Order" or the Melchizedek priesthood on the earth at this time confirms that the organization of the Church also existed. We will see the Lords Mercy on Jerusalem and realize the Mercy he gives to us all. 

It is the beginning of the “ites” in the Book of Mormon. Nephi and his followers will deliberately separate themselves from Laman, Lemuel and their families. They will begin to be called the Lamanites and the Nephites. Their skin color will change and if you stick around at the end of the chapter I replay some clips of my interview with Brother Martins who will address this topic. We will talk about the importance of Temples,  the Pride Cycle, and find out that  Nephi’s has sisters.

FATHER Lehi will give his final counsel to his children and grandchildren, before he passes on. There are times in our lives when the death of a LOVED one brings us closer to the spirit, and gives us a desire to become better. To live in the way the Lord wants us to, so that we can see our LOVED ones again. I feel this spirit in Nephi as he speaks to us today. He has a renewed SENSE OF  FAITH in himself, in the Savior Jesus Christ, and the Plan of Salvation. His testimony in the end is Pure Poetry.

Lehi is at the end of his road, and in the last couple of chapters he has been addressing his family. In this chapter he will address his youngest son Joseph He will talk about his connection to Joseph who was sold into Egypt. He will specifically mention the coming forth of the Book of Mormon from the Prophet Joesph Smith. We will also discuss Shirley Heater's discovery that Lehi's blessing to his son Joseph is a beautiful chiastic structure. 

Lehi will continue to counsel with his children. He will discuss the fall of Adam, and the freedom that we have every day to choose right or wrong. We will discuss what it means to have a Broken Heart and a Contrite Spirit, and we will learn how sometimes our Afflictions will be consecrated for our gain, and given as an offering to the Lord. 

We have just Traveled with Lehi and his family to the promise land and now after years of Faith filled travel, Father Lehi is coming to the end of his road. He knows it will be his time to go soon and he wants to leave his children with some advice. He will be especially talking to Laman and Lemuel in this chapter today, and helping them to see the potential prosperity or destruction they might have in their futures. After the chapter we will interview Hi'i Campbell, and talk about her Grandmother Sister Au's Final Testimony. 

This is the Last chapter in 1st Nephi. In the last two chapters we heard Nephi share Isaiah's words with his family, his posterity  and with us. In todays’ Chapter he will explain Isaiah’s words to us even more. We will talk about how we can prepare for the Lords return, and how America was prepared to receive the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. We will dive into repentance and realize how important this is in our lives as we prepare and participate in the Gathering of Israel. 

Nephi will share Isaiah 49 with us. We will discuss the Gathering of Israel and all the different ways the Lord will do that. We learn that in the end, everyone will know who the Savior is. He will make himself known to all. That the Gathering will not leave anyone out, and he truly is aware of everyone and every situation. The Gathering of Israel is a process that will take time but we are all included. We are also helping to gather Israel, be being good examples to those around us, by going to the temple and doing temple work, by raising our children with the Gospel in their lives, and by following the commandments. Isn’t it fantastic that we are all a part of this amazing work. 

Nephi told us in the last chapter that he wanted to share Isaiah’s Words with his family, his posterity, with us, and anyone who would read these plates. His purpose was so that He might more fully persuade us to believe in the Lord our Redeemer. When we read this Chapter with that in mind we can really see Nephi’s purpose in sharing these parts of Isaiah. There are so many reasons for us to Believe in the LORD and to have Faith in Him, and his plan for us.   

Today we will learn about the Purpose for Nephi creating these plates. We will read about other plates, and other prophets that we may not have known about. We will discuss what will happen when the Lord comes, and we will talk about why it is important to liken the scriptures to our own lives and share them with our families in that way.

Nephi finally finishes the ship with the help fo the Lord, and the family sets sail into the unknown. Of course his brothers will cause some problems along the way, and we will discuss how our actions can affect those around us. The faith of everyone is strengthened, as they see Nephi calm a furious storm. When they finally make it to the Promise Land we will see that the Lord blesses those with Pure Faith, in Abundance. What an amazing journey it has been. 

Today we will read about the women and the strength they were blessed with as they traveled through the wilderness bearing children through out their journey. Nephi will once again shock us with his undeniable Faith when the Lord asks him to build a ship. We will be amazed as we read about the power of the Lord literally coming from Nephi and shocking his two older brothers Laman and Lemuel. Stick around after the chapter is over because we will be talking with a good friend Michele Reyes a little more about this chapter, life as a Mother of 7 , scriptures, and so much more…. Ok lets get started.

Lehi finds an amazing ball made of brass called the Liahona. This is used as a guide for Lehi and his family as they travel through the wilderness. At the end of the chapter we will talk with Tara Kingi about the Liahona's that guide our own lives. Nephi breaks his bow and the family is hungry, upset and tired of traveling. We will discuss how often the Lord gives us trials in our lives to prepare us for something that is just around the corner. 

In this chapter Nephi Exhorts his brothers with every ounce of his soul to come unto Christ…to repent and to partake fo the fruits of the gospel. Imagine if we all did that this week…what a huge impact it would have. Nephi will also teach us the secret formula to getting answers.We will discuss the blessings of Abraham, and we will try and pay more attention to when we receive answers in our lives. 

Today we will read about the Marvelous Work the Lord has for us to do here on this earth. We will discuss how righteous decisions give us Gods Power in our life, and we will conclude Nephi’s vision with his powerful testimony.

Today as we read Nephi will see wars and the start of America. He will see the loss of many plain and precious parts of the Bible. He will see the records that he is keeping help in the restoration of the Gospel and the building up of Zion. It is amazing to see the Future from the perspective of the Past. 

We will continue to hear the word look through out our chapter….we will discuss More of the Symbolism of The Vision Nephi is having of the Tree of Life… and we will have sympathy for Nephi’s as he sees the destruction of his Posterity. After the chapter we will hear Brother Martins thoughts on a very misunderstood verse in the scriptures. 

Aloha Friends we will read 1 Nephi chapter 11. We will again discuss the idea that our Heavenly Father uses Mountains as Temples. We will see the vision of the tree of Life from Nephi’s perspective and learn quite a bit about they symbolism behind each part of the dream. Then afterwards stick around because I have Brother and Sister Martins from Brazil Here to talk a little deeper about chapter 11 with us. His Father was the first Black man to receive the Priesthood in the church, and he was one of the first three Black Missionaries to serve in the church. He helped to Translate the Book of Mormon in Portuguese and he has a wealth of knowledge that we will try and tap into. 

Today we will be reading 1 Nephi Chapter 10. We will discuss the symbolism, and significance of the Olive tree, we will Imagine entering a  beautiful White Room. We will talk about the power a name can have, and we will see how Diligent Nephi is as he seeks his own testimony of TRUTH. Stick around because after the chapter discussion we will be interviewing Carmen Hetaraka. He will discuss Maori culture, language, traditions, and the connections they have to the gospel of Jesus Christ. We will end with a Maori chant by my children. 

In this chapter we will focus on OBEDIENCE. President Ezra Taft Benson said..."Obedience is the First Law of Heaven". When we are Obedient to the Laws and Commandments the Lord we will have the companionship of the Holy Ghost, and protection from the temptations and sins of the world. 

In this chapter we will read one of my favorite stories in the Book of Mormon. Lehi will tell us about a dream he has had and we will explore the idea of The Tree of Life. We will taste Joy, and experience Heartbreak all in the same chapter. I will share some hiking stories, and we will be reminded of how Important our Agency here on earth is. 

Today we will see an extraordinary example of the power the Spirit has to convey the perfect message. We will witness a miracle performed by God, as an answer to Nephi’s prayer, and we will also discuss the weight of a Woman’s opinion. Sometimes a softer, more delicate approach is exactly what we need. I can’t wait to see what the next step for Lehi and his family will be in this journey…lets begin.

Today we will confirm exactly who this Lehi guy is. We will find out what the purpose of these collected stories are, and we will think about who we enjoy learning from. Its a pretty short chapter and straight to the point. Let’s begin!   

Have you ever doubted the Lord and his plan for you, and then, something happens in your life to completely prove you wrong. You are of course reminded that the Lord knows BEST, and will ALWAYS lead you in the right direction. That is exactly the same type of situation we read about with Sariah The Prophet Lehi’s Wife today in chapter 5.  We will read about Nephi and his brothers joyful return to their family in the wilderness, we will see what possession Lehi values above all else… and we will hear a humble recommitment from Sariah as her Faith is strengthened. I hope your heart is open to the promptings you will receive from the spirit as we read this Special Chapter of the Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ. 

What if the Lord asked you to do something that went against what you had been taught , and the Fate of all your posterity was determined by your ability to just simply have Faith and Obey? That is exactly what happens to Nephi in chapter 4 today. We are going to see how Nephi’s Faith is strengthened as he bravely follows the Lords Command. We will find out how he get's the plates and we will meet a new Character named Zoram. We will meet the prophet Lehi, and talk about what it means to be a visionary man. We will dream about what it might be like to see Countless Concourses of Angles singing praises to our God, and we will think about what we can apply to our own lives.
