This week we learned more about how Tropicana will close as their owner Bally's faces both funding problems and a plan to take them private. With the property closing on April 2, the big question is whether or not it will be imploded. Bally's is fleecing the Tropicana and running her into the ground, but will they actually be able to build a replacement and if not Bally's then who would take over the project?

This week as Fontainebleau opened up reservations for their restaurants and announced how they will handle paid parking, the other new casino coming to the Las Vegas Valley announced a delay to its opening date. Durango was supposed to open on November 20, however the opening date has now been pushed back to December 5. It will still open before Fontainebleau, but with a shorter media window will it be a successful launch?

This week the Culinary Union started putting pressure on the Strip casinos with mass protests ahead of many upcoming big events in the city. With construction for F1 in full swing it is putting even more pressure on the tourist experience which isn't spectacular right now. Will a strike happen or can they get this resolved.
