Peter Lublink, the Executive Director of BethanyKids, shares the mission and vision of BethanyKids, a Christian charity that provides pediatric surgery, rehab services, and spiritual care in 7 countries across Africa. Peter also shares his thoughts on how the healthcare system in Africa compares to that of the USA and Canada (10:50), his journey to doing mission work in the Middle East (24:49), and why there is no differentiation in being a Christian and being a missionary (37:15).

Yooo what is good! Your boys David and Josh are back from their hiatus with a brand new format, where they will be discussing more pointed topics. This episode's question: "Is Capitalism Compatible with Christianity?"

Christianity has had a long and intimate relationship with capitalism, but recently, more and more people are raising their concerns whether or not capitalism is the most ethical and effective system. David was especially interested in Josh's perspective as a Christian entrepreneur, and in this episode, the two discuss whether or not capitalism is morally compatible and consistent with the Christian faith.

David and Josh brought on a special guest, Olivia Wong, to deconstruct the movement, discuss how the movement came to fruition, and ask the question, "is this just the next media narrative?"

Olivia Wong is a Chinese-American entrepreneur, senior partner of Prototype Thinking Labs, public speaker, award-winning humanitarian, and Miss Asian Global 2020! She brought some great insight into the movement, along with providing her unique experiences as an Asian-American woman in business.

With AAPI Heritage Month coming to a close (Happy AAPI Heritage Month by the way our Asian brothers and sisters!), and the movement seeming to already lose steam with the popular discourse, the Sound of Water podcast hopes to keep the conversation going with this brand new episode! This week, the Sound of Water podcast hosts Nidhi Shastri! Nidhi is the current host and founder of her podcast, Model Minority: Uniquely American. This is the very FIRST collaboration episode from Sound of Water!

Nidhi started her podcast to explore the many layers and depths of the "model minority" myth: the good, the bad, and the invisible. She graduated from the University of Illinois with degrees in Political Science and Environmental Science and has experience working in radio, campaign organizing, and advocating for single-payer healthcare in Illinois. Our fourth guest for Season 2 of the Sound of Water podcast is Sarah Kim of Liberty in North Korea (LiNK)! LiNK is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) whose aim is to help every North Korean achieve freedom within our lifetime. Uzuhan is an independent artist hailing from Atlanta who debuted in 2010 on Youtube with his single “Never Change” which garnered 1.5 million views. In 2017, he won the national grand prize for Kollaboration which landed him a spot at SXSW in 2018. And throughout his career, he’s worked with a number of notable Korean musicians like Higher Music's pH-1 on "FILA," R&B vocalist, Jeebanoff on "Mama We Made It," I.M from Monsta X and Brother Su from Starship Ent. on their collaborative track "Madeleine," and Chai from Antenna Music, and more!

David and Josh talk with Uzuhan about independent music, Asian American storytelling, Christianity and hip hop, and more in this dope episode.
