  • 18 - Deepfakes: How technology is making us question what is real

This week on The So Far So Good Podcast, Dell looks into the emergence of artificially generaked fake videos known as deepfakes. Deepfakes are becoming more common and even more convincing. They’re being used to fabricate events that never happened. Deepfakes are being made about politicians, your favourite athletes, celebrities and even people you know. This technology has led to many ethical and social concerns which Dell looks into with the help of not one, not two, but yes, THREE GUESTS. This week’s guest’s include Suzie Dunn from The University of Ottawa, Morgan Currie from The University of Edinburgh and Victor Riparbelli, CEO of Synthesia. The trio attempt to provide some understanding to what is really behind this technology and whether we’re all actually heading towards a Black Mirror-esque society. Please don’t sue me for that reference Netflix…

  • 15 - Pushed to the limit: The UK's steroid epidemic

Welcome back to The So Far So Good Podcast after a mini yet much needed hiatus. This week Dell is investigating the growing use of anabolic steroids and performance enhancing drugs in the UK. Over the past 5 years usage has exploded with close to a million people taking these substances to push their bodies to their limit and achieve the ultimate six pack. The rise has been seen to be most common amongst 18-24 year old males. So why are young men embarking on this journey? What is driving usage? Dell attempts to understand this 'epidemic' and some of the broader questions surrounding the phenomenon by speaking to bodybuilder and steroid user Dave Crosland. Dave is one of the most vocal individuals in the UK about steroid use and misuse and provides some great insight into his own experiences and explains why this trend is booming.

  • 14 - Talking University

If you haven’t already deduced this week’s topic from the title then perhaps university might not be for you! Dell speaks to Amari Korpal founder of The Graduate Diary, a blog designed to help and support graduates during the transition phase between finishing university and entering the ‘adult world’. The pair know each other from their uni days and reminisce on a time where their biggest decisions would be what day(s) of the week they’d be going out. Well that amongst other things. Apologies for using the next phrase, but this week's episode is truly first class…
