Chris is drinking a monster of a collab between Little Beasts and Third Moon, while sheltering from a late-April Blizzard?! But it's all good, because this smoked grisette with black garlic is RIDICULOUS! Seriously, stop what you're doing and go buy all of this beer. Like, literally.

Chris is drinking an early-spring classic, Spring Bock from Amsterdam Brewery. Made in the classic German method, it's big and sweet and Chris thinks it tastes a little like a sauna (it's the hops!). Perfect for both lenten fasting and also early-season patio beers (or both?). Chris is drinking a Viaduct IPA from Danforth Brewery. It's a bit of an unusual ep, because the beer isn't a total homerun, but it's solid. Just a bit of competing interests between the hops and the malt bill. Also talking rugby, because it's a day ending in "Y".

Chris is drinking what is now an absolute classic from his friends at Indie, Instigator IPA. Also bigging up the return of the Toronto Arrows, and the Tom Waits Appreciation Congregation at Castro's Lounge. Getting into a a super cool saison from Amsterdam, made with all-Ontario hops and malts, and unusually, all those hops are new world varieties. Super cool and delicious! Also bigging up the next edition of Spent Grains Zine, and the annual Christmas Extravaganza, this year with Ben Johnson.

Chris is getting into a serious serious bottle from his beloved Godspeed, a "mega-blend" no less!

Chris is getting heavy into a hazy IPA from Rouge River Brewing that is super hazy and quite bitter and all sorts of things he really likes. Also bigging-up @SpentGrainsZine the craft beer zine he started, and ranting about why you need to stop giving food to food banks (just give them money!)

Chris is drinking a hell of a nice NEIPA from the good folks at Muddy York, Working Hard NEIPA, and chatting about the beer related thing that he's been working hard on. But shhhhh, don't tell: it's a secret!

Chris is drinking an OLD rye saison. Like, really old. Like 7 years old. This is not normal. But it's actually pretty good. Also, a lengthy verbal description of a pumpkin lentil soup recipe. Because, why not?

Chris is trying on old favourite in a new interpretation. Sunlight Park saison, aged in a foeder. Also talking live music, and the grand opening of Bossanova, a fantastic beer and wine bottle shop in the west end.

In the spirit of the season, Chris is revisiting Pumkin Ale from Great Lakes, and talking more rugby, because why not?

Making a glorious return to Chris' good graces, it's Naughty Neighbour American-style Pale Ale. Also the usual rugby jibber-jabber, and an exhortation to participate in coaching young people in whatever you're good at, because it's good for them, and good for your soul.

As the nights get colder, Chris is getting into a big old American-style barleywine; Lone Wine from Sawdust. Also some talk about Godspeed's wonderful Oktoberfest party, and a farewell to their exceptional chef, Yamanka San, who will be leaving the brewpub at the end of the month for new adventures.

Chris is sipping and supping a west-end favourite, KAPOW! IPA from Rainhard Brewing, and getting pretty excited about his holiday coming up.

Chris is tackling two (count em!) TWO tasty brews from Left Field tonight, and getting sentimental about a Canadian legend.

Sometimes serendipity strikes and tonight it hit me like a spicy sour beer, when I realized I had a pineapple/scotch-bonnet sour from Sawdust, and a pineapple/habanero sour from Storm Stayed x Market Brewing in my icebox. Things get Spicy!!!! Also a big shoutout to all the people fighting to save Mauna Kea in Hawaii.

Chris might be an over-tired, sweaty, grouchy, middle-aged man, but he's YOUR over-tired, sweaty, grouchy, middle-aged man, and tonight he's sipping a delightful saison from Parry Sound's own Trestle Brewing Co, to close out season 6.

Tonight Chris does his interpretation of the #SteamWhistleChallenge with surprising results! (sort of). 3 different takes on a Pilsner beer, and they're all lovely, so we all kicked a goal! Also Godspeed still won.
