Davey Boy and Alfie plan the approach to the Rippers
Pennyworth Episode 2 Synopsis
Episode Directed By: Danny Cannon
Episode Written by: Bruno Heller
After the arrest of Lord Harwood and Betty Sykes, Alfred Pennyworth is approached back at the club by a grateful Thomas Wayne. He offers Alfred a job for his nascent security business. Alfred turns down the offer from the billionaire businessman, because the company he keeps almost had him and Esme killed!
At the Tower of London, the detained Lord Harwood is tortured and interrogated to find out who leads the Raven Society but with limited success. Elsewhere in the Tower, Bet Sykes has a different kind of interrogation by George one of her guards who is tricked into delivering her post. While she hatches her plan to escape from the Tower, her infatuation with Esme continues as one of her letters makes its way to Esme’s apartment...kiss, kiss...kiss.
In Whitechapel, Alfred has accepted a new job from the landlord of the Severed Arms pub whose daughter is being harassed by the creepy and possessive Jason Ripper. As Alfred, Davy-Boy and Bazza set to work on Jason this new assignment puts Alfred firmly in the sights of Jason’s Uncle, the notorious Ripper of the East-end. The Ripper is persuaded by Alfred to give him the benefit of the doubt by showing that his nephew was a weak link in his crime organisation.
With the Pennyworth family back home sat around the telly with a nice cuppa, Alfred makes sure that Bet is executed at the Tower. But all Bets are off as Peggy Sykes comes to free her younger sister from the hangman’s noose.

Pennyworth Season 3 Episode 4 “Silver Birch” Synopsis
Episode Written by: Hannah Boschi
Episode Directed By: Jon East
Alfred Pennyworth has woken up on the right side of Sandra Onslow’s bed this morning. But he’s missed all the trouble at the Wayne house. While Sandra’s PR team circle her for press engagements, Alfie gets himself over to work at the Queen Anne’s Revenge.
Soon after arriving, Patrick Wayne turns up with a job for him. His son Thomas is locked up in the Tower of London. With the help of some impressive gadgets from Lucious Fox, getaway driving from Mr. Chadley and the loved up brute force of Dave Boy, Alfie stands to earn a cool Million Quid to break him out and put him on a plane back to Gotham.
He had a pretty good plan but the guards are on to them too quickly and Prime Minister Aziz puts out a warrant to arrest Alfie, knowing he’s at the centre of the break out.
With Thomas refusing to leave his family and corrupt CIA officer Virginia Devereaux calling for her men to finish the job and kill Martha, it could have been a very bad day. Luckily Alfie anticipates the double crosses and has Prime Minister Aziz arrest the lot of them.
As Daveboy’s part in the job is done he goes to meet his new posh girlfriend at the Art Gallery she works at, owned by eccentric artist Francis Fuchs.
Meanwhile with Martha safe after her ordeal, Mrs. Pennyworth meets a new possible love interest and a masked buyer contacts Doctor Glubb to persuade the hallucinogen-making scientist to work for him.

Episode Written by: Bruno Heller
Episode Directed By: Rob Bailey
With the recovered vial of Storm Cloud in hand, Alfie, Lucius, Daveboy and Thomas along with his father drive back to London in triumph. As Alfie returns to tell his mother of his dad’s survival and Storm Cloud is taken to the English League all is not quite as triumphant as they appear.
Gully Troy is looking for Alfie, his father has something to hide and the vial containing Storm Cloud is a fake! At Raven Union headquarters John Salt rejects the League’s unconditional surrender after they discover his ruse and he makes his way up to his penthouse ready to unleash the real Storm Cloud safely positioned in London ready for detonation.
Back in London, with all hope lost, some try and make a run for it while Thomas and Martha say yes and ask Aziz to marry them. Meanwhile, back at Alfie’s home, Mrs Pennyworth is shocked to see her husband but finds it in her heart to forgive him.
However, the atmosphere is uncomfortable and tense and things get worse when Alfie learns of his father’s involvement in the Raven Union’s deception. Upset and angry Alfie’s home truths to his father and some words from his wife convince him to reveal the location of Storm Cloud in Lord Harwood's coffin.
As they race against time to defuse the bomb they are helped when Salt runs into the fists and boots of Bet and Peggy Sykes back at Raven Union HQ, but Salt manages to push the trigger but is arrested by the army and Fracis Gaunt resumes leadership of the Raven Union.
In London Storm Cloud activates but “quick” thinking sees Gully swallow the capsule preventing a devastating detonation, but unfortunately for Gully it detonates in his stomach.
Six months later as the Raven Union launches it’s final assault on London, Martha gives birth to a girl and the English League, led by Alfie and Bet Sykes, unleash a new weapon on the Raven Union forces.

Pennyworth Season 2 Episode 2 Synopsis
Episode Written by: Bruno Heller
Episode Directed By: Danny Cannon
Alfie and the boys have the money and are ready to head for a new life in the USA, but Alfie is having trouble telling Sandy at the club of his decision to leave England and he still can’t convince his mum to move with him; as she still struggles with the death of her husband and Alfie’s involvement on that fateful night.
As the Raven Union make plans to press their advantage over the English League, differences between Lord Harwood and Frances Gaunt bubble to the surface over the terrifying project Stormcloud.
To make things worse for the English League, the CIA has decided to undermine their leadership as they go after British PM Archbishop Potter over his moral stance against the newly developed hydrogen bomb. While Thomas is uncomfortable with this course of action he makes plans to employ his old satanic adversary - Anthony Crowley - to discredit Potter.
Elsewhere Bet Sykes is still on the run from the Raven Union with her hostage, Katie Browning; and Alfie finds himself embroiled in another hostage situation.

The post Year One Episode 22 – Gotham All Happy Families Are Alike – Gotham TV Podcast Episode 47 appeared first on Gotham TV Podcast.Wed, 27 May 2015 - 399 - Gotham Season 1 Episode 21 "The Anvil or the Hammer" Podcast from Gotham TV Podcast
In the penultimate episode of Gotham season one we discuss Episode 21 of Gotham The Anvil or the Hammer on Episode 46 of Gotham TV Podcast. This episode was great, we loved it, Gotham The Anvil or the Hammer was in parts gruesome, edgy, sassy and fraught with danger for all the main protagonists. Written by Jordan Harper and directed by Paul A. Edwards this is definitely one of the best episodes of the season so far.
The Ogre (Milo Ventimiglia) reveals his true intentions to Barbara (Erin Richards) as he slowly, but surely begins to emotionally break her! With these disturbing developments the G.C.P.D's investigation intensifies as Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) track him to an out-of-town location after a surprising personal testimony from an employee of the Fox Glove nightclub, a previous haunt of Jason "The Ogre" Lennon. As they close in on the Ogre, Barbara's life and the lives of people close to her are in deadly jeopardy. All the while, Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) begins to move his pieces on the chess board that is Gotham as he seeks to begin the turf war between the rival gangs of Don Maroni (David Zayas) and Don Falcone (John Doman). As the chaos begins so Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) finds himself in turmoil as he must come to terms with revelations about his father - Thomas Wayne; and Ed Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) must clean up after his actions from the night before, but all with a sly sense of humour and, of course, a clue!.
The outro music for this week is again the The with their fantastic tune "Boiling Point" someone loves their UK indie music over in Gotham we suspect Danny Cannon and Bruno Heller.

This week on Gotham TV Podcast we talk all about episode 19 of Gotham Beasts of Prey that aired on Channel 5 in the UK on the 4th May 2015.
As a new playboy billionaire, Jason Lennon (Milo Ventimiglia), is fresh on the scene of Gotham, the body of a missing woman, Grace Fairchild (Willa Fitzgerald), turns up in Gotham City brutally murdered. As Jim Gordon takes on the case of the murdered woman with his partner Harvey Bullock, so begins a slow revelation for Jim of a long-standing serial killer that preys on women. Complicit in the murderous work of the Ogre is the silence of the G.C.P.D.; and even as this new killing spooks the Precinct some look to turn a dangerous situation to their advantage. Meanwhile as Selina and Bruce team-up to track down Reggie to get answers about the underhand business at Wayne Enterprises, Bruce is left with a potentially life-changing decision; and finally Fish is able to put her plan in to action on the island of Doctor Dulmacher (Colm Feore). This was a really great episode with a fantastic creepy murderer at the center of Jim and Harvey's investigation.

We have another Joker connected episode this week on Gotham TV podcast as we discuss Gotham Red Hood episode 17 of the season. This episode aired on Channel 5 in the UK on the 20th April 2015.
Sean Pertwee described this episode to us as "Alfred's past arriving at the door of Wayne Manor". We discuss these new revelations about Alfred's past and about what both Alfred and Reggie (David O'Hara) are capable of as former war veterans. Little did we know that this episode also included what John describes as the scene of the series (...and it's not the one you are thinking of!). We also chat about the introduction of the Red Hood and the Mythos surrounding the Gotham Red Hood which seems to instill a confidence in it's wearer to lead, crack jokes and give money away. Then there is that eye popping moment with Fish Mooney that really hits an (optical) nerve plus we find out about the owner of facility where Fish is held - Doctor Dulmacher. This was a great episode and your can hear us discuss the stand out points of Episode 17 in full glorious detail.
Send us your thoughts on how Fish Mooney could continue in the show even if Jada Pinkett Smith does leave to feedback@gothamtvpodcast.com.

This week on Gotham it was time to be very very afraid as we were introduced to the Crane family in Episode 14 of Gotham The Fearsome Doctor Crane which aired in the UK on Monday 30th March 2015.
We also introduce another Doctor from Gotham in the shape of the (former) G.C.P.D. Medical Examiner, as Philip Hernandez who plays Doctor Guerra left a very special message for our listeners. In the message he explains his scenes in the episode and provides some extra little bits that he brought to the character of Doctor Guerra. He also vows to return to exact his revenge on Ed Nygma! You can follow Philip Hernadez on Twitter and check out his website and blog for all those interested in acting and learning the profession.
In this episode of Gotham the G.C.P.D. investigate a series of murders that surround an anonymous support group for people with debilitating phobias. The perpetrator seemingly is extracting their adrenal gland for no obvious reason. As Jim Gordon and Harvey Bullock investigate these crimes, Jim is released from his involvement in the investigation of Thomas and Martha Wayne’s murder by the young Bruce Wayne, seemingly frustrated at the lack of progress in the official case. All the while a romantic air falls over the G.C.P.D as Harvey finds his soft centre for the leader of the support group, Ms. Mullens, and Jim’s relationship with Leslie Thompkins evolves through an unexpected dinner date. Meanwhile at the Precinct a professional spat between the Medical Examiner, Dr. Guerra and Ed Nygma leads to the suspension of Ed from the Forensics Unit before he implicates Guerra in the collection of spare body parts from the morgue. Is Guerra Ed Nyma’s (aka The Riddler) first victim? As Jim and Harvey narrow down their list of suspects, they race to an abandoned swimming pool where Mullens is in danger as a Doctor Gerald Crane is revealed as the murderer at large. With his actions are driven by a longing to release him and his son, Jonathon Crane from their debilitating F.E.A.R. We discuss all these top five case points surrounding Episode 14 of Gotham.

This week it was time to "Welcome Back, Jim Gordon" to the Gotham City Police Department as we discuss Episode 13 of Gotham which aired in the UK on Monday 23rd March 2015.
In this episode of Gotham Jim Gordon returns to the G.C.P.D. and carries on exactly where he left off before his demotion to Arkham Asylum. He starts an internal investigation among his fellow officers and detectives following a killing of a low-level and seemingly insignificant drug gang member. Oswald Cobblepott's dreams come true, for a moment as he takes ownership of Fish's old club; and we really get a taste of Gabe, Oswald's right-hand man, as he acts on a favour for Jim Gordon by The Penguin. Whilst at Wayne Manor Cat has some bad news for Master Bruce.
We discuss our top five case points for Episode 13 of Gotham including the emergence of the right hand men (Butch Gilzean, Victor Zsasz and Harvey Bullock), the reshuffle of the gangster elements in Gotham, Jim Gordon's support group, Edward Nygma and Kristine Kringle's blossoming relationship and of course that final showdown in Fish Mooney's club.
Feedback
As was pointed out by Detective Dillon The Electocutioner/Jack Gruber really reminds us of some versions of Hugo Strange from the comics.
HUGO STRANGE - JACK GRUBER
We also had some great twitter feedback from Channel 5 viewers, listeners and some of the actors on Gotham during our live tweet of Gotham Welcome Back Jim Gordon including Zabrena Guevara, Erin Richards, Drew Powell, J.W. Cortez and Tom Calderone.
The music at the end of this weeks episode is Hanni El Khatib's song Family from his album Heatseekers. This song was used in Fish Mooney's club in Welcome Back Jim Gordon when Oswald has had a bit too much champagne.
Join us again next week as we discuss episode 14 of Gotham The Fearsome Dr. Crane. Directed by John Behring and written by John Stephens who also wrote The Baloonman and The Mask. We're excited to see the back story of one of our favourite Batman villains. Thanks as always for listening.

Jim calls in his former partner Harvey Bullock to help investigate the murders, which appear to have been experimented on using electro-therapy. A mass breakout from Arkham orchestrated by the culprit, an inmate by the name of Jack Gruber, sees him escape along with his most promising experiment to date. In the meantime, Fish begins to contemplate her most audacious move against the Don Falcone just as questions are raised over the loyalty of her right-hand man - Butch Gilzean. In our exclusive Sean Pertwee Gotham interview we got to chat with Sean about life at Wayne Manor as protector and butler to the most eligible young bachelor in Gotham, Bruce Wayne. Some of the other fascinating points we got to discuss in the interview included:
* A tease of what’s to come in the second half of season one of Gotham including some exciting developments for Sean’s character Alfred in Episode 17.
* The process of filming episodes with David Mazouz at Wayne Manor
* Alfred’s experience in the wider city of Gotham and working with the wider cast including Donal Logue, Jada Pinkett-Smith and Drew Powell.
* His experience as a young actor on the set of cult space horror film “Event Horizon”
* How Sean uses his bodyguard training from a previous role to inform his “kick-arse” Alfred
* His excitement to see another Alfred in Batman V Superman : Dawn of Justice
* Of course we also asked about his favourite type of tea and finally get an answer to the question plaguing everyone’s mind since Episode 2 of Gotham “When exactly is tea-time?”
We also posed some of our listeners questions to him about his approach to playing the character of Alfred, Doctor Who and the influence of his father John Pertwee on his career.
It was an absolute pleasure getting another chance to catch up with our favourite ex-military butler and genuinely one of our favourite British actors Sean Pertwee.

There’s certainly a strong hint that he likes to laugh in the face of authority.
We hope you enjoyed our Gotham Joker Watch Special thanks as always for listening we’ll talk to you again soon with another episode of Gotham TV Podcast.

the Dollmaker mentioned in Episode 2 of #Gotham will appear on the show. Colm Feore, who played King Laufey in Thor and also appeared in Amazing Spider-man 2 is making the leap over to DC to take the role. Dollmaker, real name Dr. Francis Dulmacher, has been teased since the second episode of Gotham, in which his creepy henchmen Doug (Frank Whaley) and Patti (Lili Taylor) name him as the culprit behind the mass kidnappings of the city’s street children. We wonder if John's theory on the Dollmaker will come true.

Gotham News
⦁ Gotham has been officially renewed by Fox in the US for a second season. At the Television Critics Association (TCA) Winter event on Saturday 17th January Co-Chairman and CEO of Fox, Dana Walden, said that Fox "love the show" and they've told the team behind the hit show "keep doing what you're doing". This is great news.
⦁ Other great news revolves around RTE in Ireland who have officially confirmed that Gotham will premiere on RTÉ2 beginning Monday 26th January at 9pm. They've even released a brand new trailer. This should hopefully mean a wider audience is reached for the show in Ireland.
⦁ Robin Lord-Taylor fans have been asking one question regularly for months. What do previous actors who play the character think about his performance as the young Oswald Cobblepot on Gotham? Well the answer was given at the TCA's this weekend when Danny DeVito (there to promote "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia") was asked about his opinion about Robin Lord-Taylor. He told AccessHollywood.com "I've watched the show. I think he's a very good young Penguin" ,"He's a terrific actor,". A ringing endorsement.
⦁ It's also been announced that the future father of Dick Grayson, John Grayson will be played by Rob Gorrie. The circus will roll into Gotham in Episode 16 carrying with it the Flying Graysons. The episode is titled "The Blind Fortune Teller". As Gotham takes place during the young years of Bruce Wayne, John Grayson will be a much younger character so we won't see any appearance of Dick Grayson in the show.

⦁ Former Dark Knight Rises star Tom Hardy has dropped out of his second DC movie "Suicide Squad" due to scheduling conflicts. The current movie he's filming, "The Revenant", has run over so he's unable to take on the role of Rick Flag in "Suicide Squad" which starts filming in April 2014.
Thanks for listening we'll be covering Volume 2 of Hush in our next podcast as Gotham is still on hiatus in Ireland and the UK; returning to Channel 5 for the second half of season one in March.

Written by Ken Woodruff (Episode 4 - Arkham) and directed by Karen Gaviola (Directed episodes of CSI, Criminal Minds, Prison Break).
As a mentally ill patient, Ian Hargrove, is transferred from Blackgate penitentiary for treatment he is kidnapped by Russian mobsters. Under the guidance of Fish Mooney the mobsters are using the former vigilante to complete a plan to steal money from Carmine Falcone. Meanwhile Selina Kyle has returned and finally gives more details to the identity of the Wayne Family murderer. Because of her knowledge Cat is sent to Wayne Manor for her protection. Armed with Selina's sketch Jim Gordon approaches a young slightly unbalanced Assistant District Attorney Harvey Dent for help. Dent is convinced that the sketch ties billionaire businessman Dick Lovecraft into the investigation. All the while Jim and Barbara are drifting further and further apart.
Who is Ian Hargrove? Whilst his name doesn't seem to feature in DC Comics his preferred method of destruction is familiar and could be linked to the villain called the Destroyer who blows up old buildings for the sake of artistic expression.

⦁ A pilot for the Garth Ennis, Steve Dillon comic series Preacher has been ordered by AMC. The Vertigo comic is about a southern preacher, Reverand Jesse Custe, accidentally possessed by a supernatural creature, who travels across the United States trying to find God! The pilot is being put together by Breaking Bad's with Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg who directed This is the End and Superbad. It sounds like a mix of Constantine and the Walking Dead and we're definitely interested.
⦁ Rumours are out that Frank Miller is doing a second sequel to his infamous Dark Knight Returns mini-series from 1986. Given that Ben Affleck's Dark Knight in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has definitely taken inspiration from Frank Miller's version it sounds like good timing. Frank Miller is set to work on the story, focusing on Cary Kelly the female Robin from the original mini-series, with current Batman writer Scott Snyder. There are no confirmed artists yet for the book but Jim Lee and Greg Capullo are already being name dropped as part of a group of rotating artists taking on different issues.
⦁ We discussed it a few weeks ago but the cast of David Ayer's Suicide Squad has now been confirmed.
i. Jared Leto as The Joker
ii. Will Smith as Deadshot
iii. Tom Hardy as Rick Flag
iv. Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn
v. Jai Courtney as Boomerang
vi. Cara Delevingne as Enchantress

⦁ “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” directed by Zack Snyder (2016)⦁ “Suicide Squad,” directed by David Ayer (2016)⦁ “Wonder Woman,” starring Gal Gadot (2017)⦁ “Justice League Part One,” directed by Zack Snyder, with Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams reprising their roles (2017)⦁ “The Flash,” starring Ezra Miller (2018)⦁ “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa (2018)⦁ “Shazam” (2019)⦁ “Justice League Part Two,” directed by Zack Snyder (2019)⦁ “Cyborg,” starring Ray Fisher (2020)⦁ “Green Lantern” (2020)

Show Notes - Gotham Season 1 Episode 1 "Pilot"
The Gotham pilot aired on Channel 5 in the UK on October 13th at 9PM and on RTÉ2 in Ireland on Monday January 26th 2015 in Ireland and is now available on Netflix and Blu-Ray and DVD. So We've finally been able to see the episode and share our thoughts with you. Our episode begins with some Gotham News from back in 2014 when we saw the episode first.
Gotham News
We're not going to talk about ratings much on our show as they generally come out much slower in the UK but ratings for the pilot in the US were pretty high with about 8 million on the night of September 22nd. The audience increased by 50% when DVR watching over the subsequent three days was included. Making the total audience for the show 12 million if out maths is accurate. As we've discussed on a past episode Harvey Dent is coming to Gotham and the actor who has been cast to play him is Nicholas D'Agosto. We know him from his turn as one of the ill-fated kids in Final Destination 5. He's a lot younger than we've seen the character on screen before making it very possible that we'll seen the character on screen before making it very possible that he's a young lawyer working his way up the ranks of the legal system in Gotham. Hopefully we'll see a lot of interplay between him and Jim Gordon as they try to clean up the city together.
DC Connected News
The Teen Titans joins the expanding list of DC properties being developed as a TV show. Variety reports that TV channel TNT are close to a deal on producing "Titans", the show would center on Dick Grayson, the former Robin who emerges from Batman's shadow to become Nightwing and the leader of a fearless band of heroes who include Starfire and Raven. Looks like it might be a show relevant to our interests.
FEEDBACK
We discuss lots of feedback on episode one at the end of the review. If you want to send us your thoughts or suggestions you can send them to our new address feedback@gothamtvpodcast.comThanks so much to all of our listeners for their feedback it's great to have the support so far and we hope you keep sending us your feedback as Gotham ramps up.

⦁ We've discussed the character Jim Corrigan's upcoming role in NBC's Constantine recently and today we've heard that Dublin actor Emmett Scanlan has been hired to play Detective Jim Corrigan in the show. Although the character is very similar to the one we discussed in our Gotham Central coverage it is more likely this Corrigan is based on the character also named Jim Corrigan who was host to the cosmic entity "The Spectre" from the 1940's. We can't wait to find out more.

Gotham News
In the build up to the premiere of Gotham a front page feature was published in SciFi Now magazine and Gotham is also featured in the SFX magazine. Both publications provide a lot of information that we have heard over recent months but also include some new bits of information. In particular, we hear from Bruno Heller that with the casting of David Mazouz as the young Bruce Wayne the role became a more central to the story of the TV series. It was also hinted that Gotham will also explore other vigilantes that may have existed before the Batman and which could have served as an inspiration and possible role model for the young Bruce Wayne.
Another European broadcaster Canal Plus in Spain have announced that they will broadcast Gotham within one day of the US broadcast on the 23rd of September. While we know the show will air on Channel 5 in the UK we’ve yet to get a release date, but hopefully it won’t be far behind the 22nd September air date in North America on Fox in the USA and CTV in Canada.
iTunes now allow you to subscribe to the full season of Gotham on their US and Canadian service. In Zero Year, Episode 13 of Gotham TV Podcast we talk about all the news surrounding Gotham and DC connected universe, in particular, this week the confirmed UK release of Gotham on Channel 5 this Autumn. We also continue our Gotham Central series review looking at issues #23-27 and including the story arcs "Corrigan", "Lights Out" and "On The Freak Beat" by Ed Brubaker, Greg Rucka and Michael Lark.
The review is full of spoilers so if you haven't read the comics, grab a copy from your local comic book shop or you can read it digitally at Comixology and join us. Let us know your opinion on the story and we'll discuss any feedback on the next episode.
Gotham News
⦁ The big news this week is that we finally have a confirmed UK broadcaster for Gotham. Channel 5 a UK channel will be broadcasting the show in the UK. The penetration of the channel is quite low in Ireland but luckily we can at least see it. In Irish broadcast news there's a vague confirmation that our national broadcaster RTÉ has picked up Gotham and will broadcast it on RTÉ 2. *UPDATE 16/10/2014 - The Irish Independent are reporting that RTÉ 2 have the rights for Gotham and will be showing the TV show from 2015 for those who don't have access to Channel 5.
⦁ Casting news in this weekend from Gotham is that David Zayas who played Detective Angelo "Angel" Batista throughout the hugely successful TV show Dexter will be swapping to the other side of the law to play Salvatore "The Boss" Maroni. Along with Carmine Falconé and Oswald Cobblepot, Sal is another of the big mobsters of Gotham. Previously he was played by Eric Roberts in Christopher Nolan's Batman: The Dark Knight and played a very big part in the creation of Two Face in the seminal graphic novel Batman: The Long Halloween.
Other DC News
⦁ DC have planted flags in the sand for movies all the way up to 2020. This provides a little confirmation of the story we reported early from Nikki Finke of the supposedly leaked DC Movie slate but no actual films have been reported in the slots.
⦁ While we still haven't got confirmation of who's playing Aquaman, Jason Mamoa, who played Kal Drogo on season 1 of Game of Thrones, has been very strongly rumoured. Pretty interesting casting but another interesting story came out this week about DC commissioning two different writers to write two scripts for an Aquaman movie. So apparently there will be some kind of Aquaman battle Royale to decide which script is the king of the ocean.
⦁ A new Batman comic, Gotham by Midnight, is due to be released in October/November 2014 focusing on the even darker corners of Gotham City and its police force, the GCPD. Written by Ray Fawkes the current writer of "Batman Eternal" and featuring the artwork of "30 Days of Night" and "Welcome to Hoxford" artist Ben Templesmith. Writer Fawkes says this series is a mix of horror and supernatural and will be largely devoid of the Caped Crusader. Jim Corrigan will also feature in the issues.
⦁ The upcoming Constantine TV Show is starting to stake their claim on some of the wider DC universe characters and confirmed that C.S.U. Officer Jim Corrigan of the Gotham City Police Department will play a big part in the first season of the TV Show. Very interesting and the progress of this story might provide an answer to whether characters from these shows will cross over. If they can work Corrigan into a cross over story with Gotham at some point it opens the door to network agnostic crossovers.... We talk a lot more about Corrigan in this weeks Gotham Central Review.

Derek and John return for Zero Year, Episode 9 of Gotham TV Podcast, with a detailed discussion in our Dark Knight Rises review. The third and final instalment in Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy.
Dark Knight Rises Review
Starring Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle aka Catwoman and Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon. The Dark Knight Rises charts the rise of a terrorist threat to Gotham and its inhabitants. Bane, backed by a darker and more secretive organisation, seeks to destroy Gotham and the Batman. In order to prevent the annihilation of Gotham, the Batman must overcome his own demons about the death of Harvey Dent/Two Face and be reborn as Gotham's protector for one final time.
News
⦁ Many of the cast have confirmed on Twitter that they are returning to work to begin recording the rest of the series for Fox. With Donal Logue (Harvey Bullock), Victoria Cartagena (Renee Montoya), Andrew Stewart-Jones (Crispus Allen) and Robin Lord Taylor (Oswald Cobblepot) all confirming they're in New York this week 20th June 2014. This is a bit earlier than expected so hopefully it means some new footage in time for San Diego Comic Con.
⦁ Victoria Catagena has confirmed that she's reading up on Gotham Central in order to prep for her role in Gotham. Following Ben McKenzie and Bruno Heller she's the third member of the team to confirm the show is taking from the highly acclaimed series we talked about in Episode 4 and Episode 5. We will be returning to cover the rest of the arc from our next show.
⦁ In an interview with Hitfix Danny Cannon (Not Bruno Heller as Derek says in the Podcast) has said that he'd love to incorporate the Origins of Mr. Freeze into Gotham. Given how they use the character in Gotham Central and the numerous origins for him over the years we're sure it would be a great fit.
⦁ Rumours appeared on the internet this week claiming to be from Fox that Gotham has been canceled. The original report came from a "Create your own headline" Site on the internet called Sunday Times Daily or STD. It seems to have gained some traction but given all the positive feedback on the the pilot from people who've seen the show it had no basis in fact.
⦁ Two slightly different Pilot trailers were released one by Canadian Broadcaster CTV who will broadcast the show this Fall. Not much new footage and the original Fox cut was better. A short teaser was released of the villains showing Selina, Oswald and Fish Mooney's parts and saying they only got this way because of the city their from.
⦁ Australian Broadcaster Nine Network were confirmed to have bought broadcast rights for Gotham. So great news for our Aussie listeners. We're still waiting on a broadcast confirmed for Europe.
⦁ *Breaking News* Former Angel, Firefly and Supernatural alum Ben Edlund has joined the team of Gotham for the first season.
⦁ *Breaking News* TV Director TJ Scott is set to direct episodes 4 and 6 of Season 1 of Gotham. Mr. Scott most recently worked on Orphan Black but his work can also be seen on Spartacus and Black Sails

⦁ From Zack Snyder’s Twitter feed we saw our first official image of Batman V Superman : Dawn of Justice in the form of Ben Affleck as Batman with the Bat-mobile was released. News
We begin this week discussing some of the news that has come out since the last episode.
At the 2014 Winter Television Critics Association press tour the Chairman of Fox Entertainment has given his description of what we can expect from Gotham with an interesting take of "Gotham teetering on the Edge".
Rocksteady have announced the forth and "Final" game in the Arkham series due out in 2014 on PS4, PC and XboxOne. This is the third game in the series created by Rocksteady and will see a significant upgrade from the previous incarnations. For the first time in this series you'll be able to actually drive the Batmobile giving you the chance to "Be The Batman" even more than ever before. See the announcement trailer "Father to Son" here:
Grant Wilfley Casting has put out a call for extras for the Gotham TV show in New York. Confirming our theory on the filming location for the show. Following Marvels announcement that their four Netflix TV shows will also be filmed in New York we think this confirms New Yorks' position as Superhero capital of America.
We also discuss some casting and news for two other DC properties. Since we recorded the podcast the first full image of The Flash's costume was released this week and there's lots of casting for the pilot of Constantine.
