So we have listed all the things that, to us, form the authentic French experience. Things we eat, things we listen to, things we watch and things we do, you name it! 💙🤍❤️ 🎤We created this podcast that explores the unmissably French lifestyle, culture and food to invite you into discussion about things we looove about life here. - 11 - French Cheese!
When you say ‘France’, chances are most people will think ‘cheese’.
One goes with the other! Some cheese, a glass of wine and a fresh baguette, it is like the French Trinity. Tasting cheese might actually be on the top of your list of things to do when visiting France. At least it should be! For this last episode of the season, we wanted to share our very own “cheesy” thoughts and experiences.
What is it like to discover French cheese for an American? And how about when you’re French, born and raised amongst all this cheese? Is Cheese Etiquette a thing?
French Cheeses are sometimes weird, often stinky, and almost always excellent. There’s literally nothing like it.
It is so French. And so wonderful!
Warning: you just might get hungry by listening to this episode! Check it out right now and join us on Instagram to tell us what you think about French cheese!

Un Air de Famille is still to this day considered a masterpiece in French cinema. Cringy yet funny, embarrassing yet touching, nonsensical yet to the point, this movie is certainly memorable. And so French! To find out how and why, listen to this new episode!

Crêpes! They might be the n°1 homemade snack here in France. And if you can’t make them yourself, don’t worry: you can find them… EVERYWHERE!

Crêpes are an absolutely fascinating experience and a must if you live in France. Even you haven’t tried a real French crêpe yet, make sure you do next time you come over!
But what makes it both so popular and so French? Which is better, sweet or savory? What is the go-to crepe that you absolutely, positively must order?

Thu, 31 Mar 2022 - 16min - 6 - Brel, Brassens and Gainsbourg
Yes, music is a universal language. And sometimes songs and singers transcend the language they are sung in and can represent a country and culture. That’s what happened with the three artists we will explore in this new episode: Jacques Brel, Georges Brassens and Serge Gainsbourg.
When you spend some time in France, it is very likely that you will hear a tune of at least one of these three “chanteurs à texte”.
In this episode, we’ll touch on stories and secrets about the incredible lives and careers of these legends. How their music, with its undeniable tone, made a deep mark on the culture, in France and even abroad. Et bien sur, the episode closes on our personal playlist for anyone who wants to (re) discover these three greats: Brel, Brassens and Gainsbourg

Thu, 17 Mar 2022 - 23min - 5 - Le French Rom-Com : Prête-moi ta main
When it comes to discovering a country, no way is a bad way. A movie, for example, can be quite a pleasant way to visit a country, to meet some of its people and experience the culture. In this new episode, we introduce you to a fun French romantic comedy: « Prête-moi ta main » .
This Rom-Com, from French director Eric Lartigau, was a hit when it came out in 2006 largely due to the stars of the film: Alain Chabatand Charlotte Gainsbourg . To us, this movie is so deliciously French that we figured we would add it to our list of “unmissables”!
Once you’ve listened to this episode, you might find yourself scheduling a French movie night very soon!

So what is the French Touch?
Maybe a kind of electro dance jazzy disco funky pop? It has been gathering inspiration from all sorts of musical genres everywhere and somehow remains very French while having quite an international sound.
This atmospheric music has seeped into our “quotidien” and become the unofficial soundtrack to our lives here in France.
