Sat, 25 Mar 2023 - 3067 - DID 'PORNY' MORMON DENTIST MURDER WIFE?
A Colorado dentist is charged with murder, accused of poisoning his wife, the mother of their 6 children.
Police say James Craig bought arsenic and cyanide, and secretly poisoned his wife's protein shakes. Angela Craig had made many recent hospital visits, and checked into a hospital again, complaining of a severe headache and dizziness. At around 2 p.m. she had a seizure. Craig was then moved to ICU and placed on life support. Her condition quickly declined and she died.
After Craig's death, one of James Craig's co-workers told a nurse that the dentist had ordered potassium cyanide which was delivered to the office. There was no medical reason for the order. Police seized the husband's computer and found disturbing searches.
It also came to light that James Craig had multiple affairs and a longstanding addiction to pornography, authorities said.

Thu, 23 Mar 2023 - 3061 - BOMBSHELL TROUBLE FOR ALEX MURDAUGH: Teen Stephen Smith Death is Homicide
It has taken eight years but teen Stephen Smith's death will finally be investigated as a homicide.
The Smith family has never believed that the 19-year-old's death was a hit and run as determined by a previous investigation. In just a week, the South Carolina mom raised more money through a GoFundMe account than what is needed to pay for the exhumation of Smith's body. Now, all that's needed is court approval.
South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) Chief Mark Keel notified Smith's attorneys that the agency now officially considers Smith's death a murder. Smith's body was found miles away from his car and lying in the middle of the road. At first, responders thought he had been shot in the head, but the death was designated as a hit-and-run.

Wed, 22 Mar 2023 - 3059 - Stephen Smith Body Exhumation to Determine Cause of Death
More than eight years after the death of South Carolina teen Stephen Smith, a push is on to have his body exhumed to determine his cause of death. A driver called 911 to report finding Smith's body in the middle of the road. Police say the 19-year-old had blunt force trauma to his head. At first police believed the injury to be a gunshot wound, but the coroner's office later rules Smith's death a hit-and-run. Smith's car had run out of gas. His family say there's no way Smith would have been walking in the middle of the road.
Rumors and gossip about a Murdaugh family connection to this death have swirled for years, however nothing concrete has brought forward. Today Nancy Grace talks with attorney Dale Carson about what could be learned from the investigation.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Tue, 21 Mar 2023 - 3056 - FAMILY ASKS WHITE HOUSE: WHY NO ARRESTS AFTER DEADLY GIRLS' TRIP
Attorneys Ben Crump and Sue-Ann Robinson have sent a letter to President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken calling for the White House to take action in Robinson's death.
The attorneys, on behalf of mother Salamandra Robinson, encourage the U.S. to extradite Shanquella's killer to Mexico or the U.S. takes jurisdiction of the case. An FBI investigation is underway.
Shanquilla Robinson traveled from North Carolina to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico with friends. It is one of those friends who stand accused in Robinson's death. According to a Mexican police report, a doctor was called to assist Robinson around 2 p.m. The doctor insisted on taking her to the hospital, but her friends refused.
According to Robinson's death certificate, she died from a severe spinal cord injury and a broken neck. Doctors call the injury an internal decapitation. A video surfaced after Robinson death showing her being beaten by one of the traveling friends.
The documents submitted to the White House named the friend and calls for her to be extradited to face charges.

Fri, 17 Mar 2023 - 3052 - More Trouble for Alex Murdaugh, Teen Stephen Smith Body Exhume
The other mysterious deaths connected to the Alex Murdaugh family are now back in the news.
As convicted killer Murdaugh, await his prison designation, we learn that Stephen Smith's mother has raised enough money to pay for her son's body to be exhumed. In 2015 Stephen Smith was found dead in the middle of the road in Hampton County.
The openly gay 19-year-old had blunt force trauma to the head and his death was officially ruled as a hit-and-run. Smith’s family has never believed the teen's death was accidental. They say the actions credited to Smith were outside his normal behavior and the Murdaugh name popping up in the investigation set rumors flying.
Smith’s mother Sandy Smith launched a GoFundMe to raise money for an exhumation and independent autopsy. She has raised more than her goal.
An investigation is also still underway into the mysterious death of the Murdaugh’s longtime housekeeper, Gloria Satterfield.

A text from his wife makes Joseph Wilson call 911 to report that his adopted son Skyler is having a seizure. That text message, however, came in hours earlier. Jodi Wilson wrote "Something happened while swaddling Skyler." Included in the text was a picture of Skyler wrapped in a sheet, face down, and duct taped to the floor. Skyler was taken to Brenner Children's hospital where a doctor explained to a detective that Skyler had a Hypoxic Brain Injury, caused by a lack of oxygen getting to his brain. The doctor said that Skyler’s brain injuries were consistent with “too much restriction” used during the so-called “swaddling” technique.

Debbie Collier, a Georgia resident, is reported missing on September 10th, 2022 after sending her daughter, Amanda, a Venmo payment for $2,385 with a message saying, “They are not going to let me go, love you.” She was found dead the next day in a ravine more than an hour north from her home. The newly released autopsy report reveals that when her body was found 80% of it was covered in second and third degree burns. Which is one of many reasons why the public was surprised to hear that the death has been ruled a suicide.
In this episode of Body Bags, forensics expert Joseph Scott Morgan and special guest co-host Dave Mack discuss Collier’s burns, the state of her clothing, the lack of debris found in her trachea, why police have ruled this a suicide, and much more.

Sun, 05 Mar 2023 - 3027 - Accused Killer, Vegas Politician Robert Telles: "I'M BEING FRAMED"
The former public official charged in the death of Las Vegas Review-Journal Investigative Reporter Jeff German now says he's being framed. Robert Telles called KLAS-TV asking for an interview to make his claims.
German was found stabbed dead outside his home. Days later, cops release surveillance video of a possible suspect in a wide-brimmed straw hat, an orange safety shirt, and black pants walking near the scene. More investigation revealed that German's reporting put him at odds with Telles.
German reported that Telles created a toxic work environment and was having an extra-marital affair with an employee. These claims seem to have cost Telles his re-election bid. Investigators searched Robert Telles' home, towing a red SUV, and finding shoes with apparent blood on them. A straw hat matching the one shown in the video was also found.
Both articles had been cut up in an effort to destroy evidence, but DNA under German's fingernails told police everything they needed to know.

Thu, 02 Mar 2023 - 3021 - Teen Perp Accused in Rape, Death of LSU Coed CHARGED AS ADULT
The minor accused of raping Madison Brooks in the back seat of a car will be tried as an adult. Desmond Carter, 17, has been indicted for first-degree rape and third-degree rape.
Kaivon Washington, 18, is also charged with third-degree rape. Everette Lee, 28, and Casen Carver, 18, were charged with principal to third-degree rape, which means they were there when the incident occurred but did not take part in it.
LSU student Madison Brooks is killed after being hit by a car. Brooks was standing in the road at the time.
Police say Brooks left a Tigerland bar with four men. Two of the men, then allegedly rape the very inebriated 19-year-old. When Brooks cannot give the men her address, she is dropped off around 3 a.m. in a random neighborhood. That is when Brooks is hit by the car. That driver showed no signs or evidence of being impaired.
At first police said the suspects videotaped the assault but in the last hours, recanted those comments and apologized for the error. There is, however, a video of Brooks arguing with the men in the car.
The four men who left with Brooks claim the sex was consensual, but hospital staff says Brooks' blood alcohol level was nearly 4 times the legal limit.

Alex Murdaugh admitted to jurors that he has been using opioid drugs for more than twenty years.
At times, he said, he was spending as much as $50,000 a week on drugs. Murdaugh said his addiction began with a college football injury which lead to multiple surgeries and prescription pain medication.
Murdaugh said that he soon became dependent. The accused killer also told the jurors that he had tried to get help several times but relapsed each time. Murdaugh said it was his addiction that led him to steal from the law firm, clients and his own family.
Murdaugh also said it was his addiction and paranoia that impelled him to lie about his whereabouts on the night of the murder.

Sat, 25 Feb 2023 - 3009 - Is Alex Murdaugh Believable?
Alex Murdaugh's testimony at times seems more like a circus than a courtroom with talk of dogs, and chickens. Murdaugh first related at length how he removed a chicken from his dog's month and the timing of it at the kennel. Then under cross-examination, the accused killer went over the activities at the kennel again, in exactly detail. Both the defense and prosecution look to use this testimony. One side saying the information proves Alex Murdaugh could not be a killer, the other side saying the testimony shows he lied.
Murdaugh has repeatedly admitted that he stole money from clients and loved ones. He also admitted that he lied to police. So the question now is, can a jury believe that Murdaugh is now telling the truth when he says that he did not kill his wife and son.
Nancy Grace and Sheryl McCollum,Founder: Cold Case Investigative Research Institute, look at the possibilities.

Murdaugh's testimony ended today and Dick Harpootlian, one of Alex Murdaugh’s lawyers, says more witnesses will be called on Monday. The prosecution could call two rebuttal witnesses after that. It's possible the case may be in the jury’s hands by mid-week.

Thu, 23 Feb 2023 - 3003 - Alex Murdaugh to Take the Stand?
Alex Murdaugh could take the stand in his own defense on Thursday.
New reports speculated on whether the accused killer will take the stand. The defense attorneys laid the groundwork, asking the judge about the range of questions Murdaugh could be asked on cross-examine, and whether Murdaugh would be able to take his Fifth Amendment right against incriminating himself.
Judge Clifton Newman said any ruling would be made as they happened, not before the testimony.
Also in court today, Murdaugh's former friend and law partner testified about going to Moselle after hearing about the murders. Mark Ball said he was angry and mortified after hearing an officer say, "we have all we need," referring to evidence of Ball finding a baseball size chunk of Paul Murdaugh's skull still lying on the kennel floor.

Wed, 22 Feb 2023 - 3001 - Alex Murdaugh Defense: ‘Killer is Short’
Alex Murdaugh's defense team began their day in court by calling Buster Murdaugh to the stand. He insisted that his father was “heartbroken” and “destroyed” after finding the bodies of his wife and son.
The disgraced lawyer seemed to wipe away tears as his son said, “He asked me if I was sitting down … he sounded odd and then he told me that my mom and brother had been shot.”
We also learned in testimony that just after discovering the bodies, Murdaugh searched online for a popular South Carolina restaurant. His phone records show a search for ‘Whaley’s Edisto’ in Safari browser” at 10:40 p.m. This timeline shows Murdaugh was still at the crime scene just 15 minutes after the first cop arrived. The restaurant he searched is one of the oldest in Edisto — where the Murdaughs’ main house is located.
Later in the testimony, a forensic expert testified that Alex Murdaugh was too tall to be the shooter.

Sat, 18 Feb 2023 - 2994 - Car Data Tracks Murdaugh’s Moves, DESTROYS DEFENSE TIMELINE
After 61 witnesses, prosecutors in Alex Murdaugh’s double murder trial have rested their case.
Once the long holiday weekend is over, the defense will continue to call its witnesses. Murdaugh's attorneys called two witnesses after the lunch break. Attorneys Dick Harpootlian and Jim Griffin say they expect their case to take about a week.
Key testimony today before the prosecution rested included new phone data information, including the fact that Alex Murdaugh called 911 roughly 14 seconds after allegedly discovering his wife and son's bodies.
The data also showed Maggie Murdaugh's phone moving at the same time as her husband's vehicle. The data indicated that Murdaugh's vehicle sped up quickly, and away from the location where Maggie Murdaugh's phone was found.
Prosecutors can then put on a rebuttal case.

Fri, 17 Feb 2023 - 2991 - Alex Murdaugh's Damning Roadside 'Shooting-For-Hire' to be Heard by Jury
Jurors learned today that Paul and Maggie Murdaugh were shot at close range. Dr. Kenneth Kinsey testified about the graphic wounds the pair sustained. Kensey said the first shot didn't kill Paul.
In fact, Paul stood for a moment and began moving toward his killer, before he was hit with the second fatal shot. Kensey told jurors that the blood pattern proved this.
Judge Clifton Newman also reversed his decision about allowing testimony on Murdaugh's alleged botched suicide plot. Judge Clifton Newman initially announced he would prohibit jurors from hearing evidence about Alex’s alleged botched attempt, but will now allow it after the defense opened the door with questions about Murdaugh's drug abuse and drug contacts.

Thu, 16 Feb 2023 - 2989 - Alex Murdaugh: 'THAT'S NOT ME" in Damning Video
Another bombshell in the courtroom today as Judge Clifton Newman ruled that testimony regarding Alex Murdaugh's alleged roadside shooting. September 2021, Murdaugh claimed he asked another man to shoot him so his surviving son could obtain millions in life insurance.
Judge Newman ruled that the roadside shooting would be a “bridge too far” and “does not meet the logical relevancy test.”
In testimony today, the jury in Alex Murdaugh’s double murder trial saw more footage of Alex Murdaugh's interviews with state investigators. SLED agent Lt. David Owen testified about his question in of Murdaugh. Owen said at the time Murdaugh was “the only known suspect” in the case. The footage shows Murdaugh being confronted with inconsistencies in his statements: specifically that Murdaugh claimed he ate dinner with his family, took a nap, and then drove to his mother's. He said he discovered the bodies when he returned.
Regarding the video taken by his son, Murdaugh denies that it is his voice in the video. Murdaugh tells Owens that at 9 p.m. he was not at the kennels. The fact that Murdaugh had changed clothes was also brought up.
Maggie Murdaugh's sister testified that Alex never seems scared while everyone else was. She also testified that her sister thought Murdaugh had an affair 15 years ago.

Wed, 15 Feb 2023 - 2987 - Did Alex Murdaugh Use Hose to Wash Crime Scene?
Puddles of water became the focus of cross-examination today of the man who took care of Alex Murdaugh’s dogs. Dale Davis testified that puddles of water were not where they should have been when police responded to the murders. Dale Davis said that when he left the afternoon of the murders, that water hose that he meticulously hung up was on the ground in a video reportedly taken by Paul Murdaugh.
Roger Dale Davis Jr., cleaned the Murdaugh’s dog kennels twice daily. His routine involved hosing down the kennels with a hose. Davis would them roll up the hose oto keep it from breaking or kinking and then hang it outside.
In the video, Davis pointed out, the hose had pressure on it, indicating that it had been used, and it was kinked.
Under cross-examination, Davis acknowledged not everyone was as careful as he was with the hose.

Thu, 09 Feb 2023 - 2976 - Murdaugh Murders: Bomb Threat Halts Testimony in Trial
A bomb threat halted testimony today in Alex Murdaugh's double murder trial. The courthouse was evacuated. Testimony resumed at 2:30 p.m. and ended early at 4:30 p.m. Court resumes tomorrow morning.
During the two hours of afternoon testimony, FBI electronics engineer Dwight Falkofske discussed his analysis of the computer data on Murdaugh's 2021 Chevrolet Suburban. Every time Murdaugh put his car in park on the night of the murders, it was recorded.
The data appeared to suggest that Alex had only visited his mother for about 20 minutes that night. That is shorter than the amount of time Murdaugh told investigators.

Bombshells in the courtroom today as the judge in Alex Murdaugh’s double murder trial rules that the state may present evidence of the now-disbarred South Carolina attorney’s alleged financial crimes.

Also heard in court today was testimony surrounding the "blue tarp" found on the second floor of Alex Murdaugh's mother's home. That blue tarp, under testing, showed gun residue.
According to Shelly Smith, a caregiver for Murdaugh's mother, Alex came by one week after the murders carrying a balled-up blue tarp. It appeared to have something inside it.

On the evening of February 16th, 2022 Jared Bridegan is dropping off his daughter at his ex-wife’s home. On the drive over he has to stop because there’s a tire in the middle of the road and he cannot go around it. He steps out of the car to go and move it whereupon he is shot multiple times. Henry Tenon has been charged with Bridegan’s murder. His only known connection to Bridegan is that he is a former tenant of a property owned by Bridegan’s ex-wifes current husband.
In this episode of Body Bags, forensics expert Joseph Scott Morgan and Jackie Howard discuss the longevity and complexity of this case, the logistics of the shooting itself, the charges against the suspect, the evidence found from the tire and shell casings, and much more.
